To be fair, Clegane torched, slaughtered and brutalized the lands of both Houses. You pretty much cannot do anything but fight against that even if it’s with your enemy next door. The moment Robb died they went back to it.
Ah, Robb Stark😢 Gone too soon. And the saddest part is that he’s probably the only Stark sibling who actually loved Jon. Considering that in the end of the show, Rickon (who might also loved Jon) died. Bran knew that Daenerys was gonna nuke King’s Landing and Jon had to kill her and he let that happened anyway to usurp the throne from Jon. Sansa usurped the king (queen) the north throne from Jon while exiling Jon to the wall (don’t forget that she intentionally chose not to tell Jon about the Vale army while fighting the Boltons and was pissed that Jon somehow survived the battle. And when she leaked the info about Jon being a Targaryen to sow he seeds of conflict between Jon and Dany) and Arya did nothing to prevent that. She never defended Jon in a trial in anyway shape or form. These 3 Stark siblings always treat Jon as a bastard, not as a guy who helped them reclaiming their home and uniting the realm to fight the white walkers in the first place. In the end, the Starks are more of a backstabbing traitor than the Lannisters or Freys. What an achievement for D&D that they managed to turn the most sympathetic family into the most insufferable one.

I find it funny and intriguing how Blackwoods (who are presented as honorable and loyal) were exiled from the North, while likes of Boltons were left alone despite their well known hostility towards Starks. It really makes me wonder what was happening in the North during those "old days". As for which house is better - that's a tough one. I'd say that both sides have their own appeal as well as many flaws. I will, however, say that Bittersteel is better than Bloodraven and die on that hill.
With the Blackwoods being forced down south I think that is due to how the Starks weren't always honorable. That as they fought for control of the north it was very much a war of conquest with honor no where to be seen. They forced out the Blackwoods because they wanted their land. The Boltons however were strong and while they could be defeated, the Starks didn't have the manpower to outright destroy them or force them out. This also came into play when the Andals invaded and so the Starks and Boltons allied to defend their First Men traditions against the invaders
Starks made some pacts and alliances to beat the North Bolton was almost a King they have so many people that only the North combine could beat the Bolton Army
Well, the Starks are not known for having great intelligence, aren’t they? I mean, the red wedding wasn’t even the first time that the Boltons betray the Starks. There were two occasions before that: Royce II Bolton burned Winterfell and Royce IV Bolton skinned Stark princes to make his cloak. The Boltons should have been wiped out thousands of years ago but somehow the Starks and their bs honor let them live.
This is why I believe the Bracken side of the story when they said that Blackwoods used to be their vassal. It was likely the same situation of the Gardeners and the Tyrells, except this time the newcomers eventually declared themselves kings.

House bracken suffers from an acute condition of “chronic writers bias” where the Blackwood’s get the best of every single confrontation, or are morally justified in their actions. If a Blackwood was to take a village, it would be a just and noble act. If the brackens were to retake that village, then it would be a cowardly and treacherous one. It also doesn’t help that the Bracken heraldry is diabolical. If you just had a red horse on a yellow background it would be S tier in my opinion.
The only instance I can think of where the Blackwoods seemed to be in the wrong was when during the Dance of the Dragons they raided villages in Bracken lands and burned their septs but this gets forgotten because Bloody Ben and Black Aly are cool characters
@@Spongebrain97 More just because that's how war is done. They were at war with each other, Bracken would have done the same thing. I don't understand how GRRM did not give Walder Frey a Bracken-wife; can you imagine the Blackwood-Freys vs. the Bracken-Freys? Would have been fantastic. Interestingly, because Alyssa Blackwood is his grandmother and because Betha is an ancestor of the Targaryens and Baratheons and another Blackwood, Melantha, is the ancestor of the Starks (and possibly more cousins), Big Walder Frey is a fourth cousin to Dany, Stannis, Jon, Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon.

Let me tell ya a couple of three things: Forget the Dance of the Dragons, forget Raylon Rivers who goes over to Stone Hedge and never comes back, forget my lord Humfrey Bracken. Benjicot Blackwood has no respect for this thing. He's never been a lord, not really. Here's a kid who stepped over his own house to grab the big seat, his father's house. 13 Fucking Major houses in the Riverlands, and then we got this pygmy thing over in Raventree Hall

14:18 I see you using the Casterly Rock throneroom from CK3 AGOT
I only just now realized that bittersteel has in those photos of him, always having yellow cloth over his armor and i think his shield even has the brackens siguel ?
Another great video Lord Haven and I hope you don’t mind me asking again but since it is a tradition at this point how many weeks till the dune part 2 video
Lord Kermit 😂😂 you’re hilarious 😂
If sleeping on a weirdwood grants dream visions, imagine what dying visions with a weirwood arrow stuck in you
"At first, it was for Honour and Glory, then later for vengeance though we termed it 'justice'
Eventually, it was because we simply did not know how to stop."
Damn I love these videos. Keep em coming!
The Kermit voice was on point 😂
I would love to see an animated lore video in the reign of Maegor the Cruel.
Lord Blackwood now only has four sons unfortunately.
I love your channel so much, you legit are so underrated and I cannot wait for you to keep growing! gunna rewatch all your vids for the millionth time
The Inn at the Crossroads would make a funny animated video. Its the most important character in the series
WE GOT MUPPET TULLYS!!!!!
The ancient history part of the video made me need a history of house greyjoy video
blackwoods vs brackens , they trully are the greatest rivaly in ASOIAF history , aegor bittercuck and branden chadrivers still going at it to this day
Branden the dishonorable kinslayer you mean
@@treymoss6511
I mean. It was a blackfyre. You know, the family that tried to usurp
@@xytech7432 I think you meant to say the rightful kings. They did bear the sword after all
@@treymoss6511
That's not how that works
@@xytech7432 it is and you know it. Daemon was legitimised, was knighted at 12, Blackfyre was given to him as it was a symbol of kings of house Targaryen. While their claim on the seven kingdoms has weakened over the years, however Daemon was the rightful king.
5:40
“Another bracken, SerOlyver”
It is so stupid that I find that even slightly funny
I have been waiting for this video
KERMIE MY LOVE ahhhh 🐸💚🐸💚 ty amazing, I love it 🤍

The lads “ yeah we’re gonna go to kingslanding “ just gonna love all the muppets memes coming in future episodes
Classic Bracken W
My man!
Love watching your videos. Even though I've heard the stories and read all of the books, it's nice to see the way you put forward the info.
Maybe someone gifts each house one of Frey forts on each side of the bridge 😂
Im a Blackwood fan. Fight me. I don't care if they suffer from writers bias or wtv. They're of the first men and they're badass. Hosue Bracken isn't bad. But do they have a cool oriimgin story and something making them unique amongst their peers? Nah.
My understanding of the pennytree is that there was only one specific village where they did that, and that it wasn't the infamously poisoned Raventree weirwood.
8:30 iconic
That's cool and all.
But real question, if you were to create the house words for Blackwood and Bracken, what would they be?
YESSS ITS FINALLY HERE, THANK YOU LORD HAVEN.
6:43 in the show doesn't the Blackwood kill the Bracken?
Blackwood forces participated in most major battles in Dance of Dragons. I hope some of it will be nicely ecranized, especially their archers. Shame battle at burning mills didnt received atleast 10 min. They could have done smth like battle at Rooks rest or smth like that.
40k incoming 🎉🙌
Can we get episode of Brave Company?
me watching this so i can better write fanfics about davos blackwood and aeron braken. thank you for doing the lord work ahahha
Based
hi, you got something wrong in this video. there aren’t coins nailed to the raventree hall weirwood, you are confusing it with a different tree, the oak tree in the town of penny tree
Can you please make a video on? House Redwyne
This is literally GRRM's Senju and Uchiha clan rivalry 😂
3:51 nice CK3 AGOT mention you got there Mr. Fische au Chocolat ;)))
Just you watch guys, my boy Hoster is gonna bag that Bracken baddie and reform the glorious House Justman 💪
What tools or software do you recommend for editing videos like this?
I’m sad you didn’t draw Caraxes on top of Stone Hedge
No outsider can solve this longstanding conflict. It has to be either one of the lords from these houses and some history altering gesture would be needed for that.
"You can have his fortune if you can guess which of these sigils belongs to the author's favorite."
GRRM is huge lover of the Blackwoods and so am I.
A House who show determination and loyalty meanwhile Brackens are backstabbers and usurpers.
“In faith we shall prevail” -actual blackwood motto
Which house is that kid who hit on rhanyra come from?😅
