I can’t play like this. But, there’s something to be said for Danny Carey and the notes he doesn’t play, as much as the notes he does. Those polyrhythms just aren’t the same when every note that can possibly be played is played. It’s like the instrumental equivalent of a vocalist over singing a song.
I love the facial expressions you make,😅😅😅. You can so feel how much passion you have for the drums. I love seeing this… You play with such ease, like you’re just slicing vegetables for dinner, like it’s no big deal, so awesome. 🤜🏼🤛🏽
Here's the thing about El's drumming. It doesn't soak you into the music more. It doesn't create a greater emotional connection with the music. It's like Eddie Van Halen's solos.... amazing! Super technical and something to admire, sit back and say "wow... that's insane talent". Generally speaking though, for being "one with the music", getting that emotional connection, less is more. Musically speaking, he doesn't make any songs better... just more admirable... if that makes sense.
Had me at the 5lb weight in the snare. You dont need Neil Peart's set to sound phenomenal. My face was like that green guy in the corner. Some well placed yells, even a quick brow wipe and stick slam to boot. I will be watching again. Memento mori! Cool dude.
Good to know that Danny Carey's drumming level has been learned by you. Always worried that once he's gone, we'll never get live drums quite like his. Thanks for keeping it alive.
This guy is by far one of the best modern drummers I've seen and the way he orchestrates most of the songs with just a 3 piece kit is something to be praised and get taught from ! And oh that beard, you're full of excellence...
3 piece kit????you better count the rims symbols chokes cowbell and all angles of crash then multiply it buy one hundred and you get 100 keeping it real as a demon from hell. Come on now...his bass drum alone becomes 2 counting feet.
Is there such thing as being too good? I almost feel like bands are afraid to hire this guy because he'd automatically be the best musician and overshadow all of them.
What an inspiration! Holy shit! I've been a subscriber for while now, and let me just say, you have set the bar HIGH for the skills you can achieve behind the kit. It's an honor to witness your playing, and seeing you make a name for yourself. As a drummer myself, you've inspired me a lot to practice harder and longer than ever before. Thank you, and keep it up brother!
El that was the best drumming you have ever done. It had feeling, technique & passion all rolled into one. BRILLIANT! WELL DONE ! 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤩
Who knew "The Pot" needed more cowbell? He did. I've argued to no end with other drummers who say he has "no pocket" or that WHAT he's doing is easily transcribed. The man is THE man. And I'm a jazz/prog drummer. Nuts. Now go watch Greyson Nekrutman.
Felt the cover was over the top. I know what your style is, but I think the best way to go is sometimes understanding what one’s style can add to the feel of the song and what the feel of the song can add to one’s style. Finding that intersection between both is one of the things I like the most when I watch any kind of cover. Still, I respect your drumming style and courage to take on this beast of a song, not to mention your mad skills!
There’s no doubt about it that you’re on another level. I’d love to see you apply this to other genres you might like. The speed and technical precision is outrageous
Imagine being any of these elite top tier drummers in all these bands knowing that even as good as you are this one man can take any of your jobs at any moment at will. What a time to be alive!
a little oversimplified, don't you think. Its more than hiring a drum machine. The personalities and creative process figures into it more than the technical ability.
i love how at the end for the last minute or so he just can’t control is anger and hype anymore, not only is the song amping him up with it’s intense energy and build up at the end, but also the fact that he killed the interpretation and is an absolute beast on the kit.

I agree 100%. Like I love Tool. And he killed this cover. But he's even so much better now that I'd love to see him cover more Tool or APC.
His Thriller is chiller. He's top drawer right now....fucking seriously!!!!!!!!!
I agree and like this take. I’m always…impressed by the technical bit but not impressed musically.
That scream towards the end is a perfect example of someone reeeaaallyyy enjoying what they are doing! 🤩
...and the previous hard work you have to do to achieve that point 💪
Had me at the 5lb weight in the snare. You dont need Neil Peart's set to sound phenomenal. My face was like that green guy in the corner. Some well placed yells, even a quick brow wipe and stick slam to boot. I will be watching again. Memento mori! Cool dude.
Been playing for 45 years.. you are by far one of the most talented drummers I have ever seen.
talented you say?
It's not talent, it's hard work... he made a video explaining that talent is BS
@@quidock5513 thanks for the troll...smh
@@KTMGUY95 I mean... He isn't trolling... If you don't like it take it up with Estepario?...
Seeing this pop up on my timeline actually made me smile, great band and a great song. ROCK ON MAN!!!
Come on now...his bass drum alone becomes 2 counting feet.
there are drum covers you watch to learn a song... then there a drum covers that you watch to be amazed.... this is dedication
Is there such thing as being too good? I almost feel like bands are afraid to hire this guy because he'd automatically be the best musician and overshadow all of them.
Yes 👍
What an inspiration! Holy shit! I've been a subscriber for while now, and let me just say, you have set the bar HIGH for the skills you can achieve behind the kit. It's an honor to witness your playing, and seeing you make a name for yourself. As a drummer myself, you've inspired me a lot to practice harder and longer than ever before. Thank you, and keep it up brother!
Bro, You are an absolutely astonishing drummer!!!! THE MARS VOLTA someday....
Those guys are so incredibly underrated! I’d love to see him to Cicatriz ESP. He certainly has the skills with that single kick
One more Tool pls, following your craft it'd be nice to see another Tool work. But this time pls keep all the basics of what Danney was doing.
Dudes starts the pot playthrough with a bukowski quote?
Huge
I think he tried to predict the purist's hatred on this one :)
Tío we are desperate for some Queens Of The Stone Age on this channel
I can only second that. Song for the dead. My first and final thought.
Misfit love.
First it Giveth
Every song this man covers he just kills it. What a drummer he as got me into so many new bands 🤟
This guy's talent and sound is from a different world!!!
Your work
Speaks for itself 👊
That was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Your choice in 7001 Tool was 🔱
Amazing stamina, so natural 🌀
Do not, Quit your Day Dream ✅
The fill at 5:23 was perfecto, the slower snare roll to the floor fit perfect.
Love that ending... I’d feel the same way if I nailed a Danny Carey interpretation the way you did! \m/ ROCK ON!
El that was the best drumming you have ever done. It had feeling, technique & passion all rolled into one.
BRILLIANT! WELL DONE !
👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤩
4:42 XDDDDD
incredible work sir! that end celebration could be felt !

@@MrArohtaeko BOTH!
You're the drummer every drummer wants to be and no band wants 😝
Nice chops bro
Hahahaha
Holy shit, my favourite drummer on TH-cam covering a song by my favourite band - god bless you, my man!
Danny Carey is one of most technical drummers and cover The Pot on a simple kit is just mind blowing
Hats off to you sir
6:24 i know the feels
Congratulations ! Very nice play
You must have been high!!!, felicitaciones titán!
Ah, watching my new favorite internet drummer playing an incredible track by my favorite band and drummer! Nice job, Man!
Just when you think you cannot be surprised anymore, This guy is at a level very few could attain, incredible drumming.
The scream of triumph at the breakdown and at the end sum it up for me. Fucking incredible brother
AMAZING !
Que chingón encontrarte por acá César!
Oh man. Besides your abilities, the tone of your drum set is fucking killing me!!!!! Keep it up dude!!!!
This guy knows things. Ive never seen anyone play so effortlessly and with so much finesse. He plays with the arms of every drummer on earth.
I know right!! I was just thinking about how the hell he can move so fast while also looking like there's absolutely no tension in his body at all.
There’s no doubt about it that you’re on another level. I’d love to see you apply this to other genres you might like. The speed and technical precision is outrageous
He's the equivalent of a guitar shredder in the drumming world
The fills are like a southern Baptist singing the national anthem.
Some beats are best left alone.
I am not a drummer. I can still recognise the pinnacle of drumming and appreciate the effort you put in to everything you do. Amazing work
Imagine being any of these elite top tier drummers in all these bands knowing that even as good as you are this one man can take any of your jobs at any moment at will. What a time to be alive!
a little oversimplified, don't you think. Its more than hiring a drum machine. The personalities and creative process figures into it more than the technical ability.
I bet that this would impress Danny Carey! I sure of it!
i love how at the end for the last minute or so he just can’t control is anger and hype anymore, not only is the song amping him up with it’s intense energy and build up at the end, but also the fact that he killed the interpretation and is an absolute beast on the kit.
Kinda lets you guess how hard he worked for this perfect take... his left hand was shaking!!!
0:17 wow... he can play drums without playing them... incredible
Some of the backing track is still there .
maybe watch the video before witting a comment. He shows him playing the percussion on an electrical drum kit. C'mon man
