    I love watching the channels that have expensive scopes to see how the diagnostics are completed, but for guys like me (DIY) it's entertainment along with learning how it's done. I have the basics in tools so I appreciate videos that show diagnostics with a test light and volt meter.

      +wyattoneable I have the expensive scopes but too lazy to get them all hooked up every time.

      I hear that the plugs have a great potential to break off in the head when trying to unscrew them. Your opinion/knowledge.

    I am a fan of the old Fords,Chevy's Chrysler's. The ones you didn't need $30,000.00 + dollars worth of tools to fix. The socket is worth more than the truck : ) It would seem that the car/truck manufactures are making them to be dealer only repairable ,This I believe to cut out the smaller garage's who can't afford to buy all the tools one needs now . My Grand Daughter's Ford fusion started to over heat. Turns out there is a plastic fitting next to the battery and under the throttle body It connects in between a heater hose and has a small fitting to send hot coolant to the throttle body. Long story short. I used my small lathe to make the part. I mean really Ford ! I just Subscribed.

    On my 99 F250, I found accessing the passenger side was easier than driver side as I was able to get out all coils EXCEPT the #7 to test and de-corrode the boots. I was hoping you would've shown how to remove the #7, but oh well. Thanks for the info!

    I saw another video where he had a couple of these regular plugs (not the 3V 2-piece nightmare ones) snap off. I wonder if it would still be advisable to spray the plug wells with a little carbon cleaner or maybe presoak with a little PB Blaster to be safe? Let it soak overnight first? Definitely going to get me that Snap-On deep well socket.

    Dude outside of all the comments you've already gotten your probably not going to help anybody else anymore but I have a 2000 Ford F350 with 120,000 MI it has been babied but it is sputtering when I give it gas it feels like all the cylinders might not be firing I can still get it up / gear and go down the highway pretty good still but I'm afraid something else could be fixed so I can get it back to normal

    My #3 spark plug is seized. I'm going to let the penetrating oil sit overnight. Then try a long 120 tooth 3/8 wrench. I have no idea how I'll get to plugs #4 and #8, but I'll keep watching videos about 5.4L Fords.

    I like getting good info, but you didn't show how to get the # 4. I've been trying all day. I have lots of tools. I have 16 yrs working on Hilacopters 20+ as a R.V tec .I have the coil out not able to git a socket on it.

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its hard to show much back there because there is no room. I use the deep plug sockets made for this application. Also make sure there isnt part of a COP boot or chunk of gravel on top of plug keeping the socket from dropping over plug. Push the heater hose to the side and twist the injector connector out of the way.

    I have a 2004 5.4 and the the front 2 coil packs have stripped threads in the head. What do you recommend as the best fix. They will not tighten down and wiggle loose and starts miss firing

      Sounds like a job for a heli-coil thread repair.

    I wish you had went over how to get the last two spark plugs on the driver side under the fuel rail. Should have also mentioned the importance of getting the coil pack fasteners tight so the coil pack doesn't move around. This job took me four hours and I hurt my back.

      +Joshua Harden oh man, that stinks. I made this vid because someone was asking last night and since I had one in I thought I would give a quick overview. Sorry it was not as detailed as you wished, I was a little busy today. If I get another in I will certainly show more detail but it sounds like you probably got this job down by now. Get well soon!

    have you ever encountered where a misfire is had at 50 mph and have no codes thrown

    • @ThecardoctorTV
      @ThecardoctorTV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but sooner or later it should set a code. Don't confuse an overdrive converter issue with a misfire. If you have an overdrive trans try disabling overdrive and see if the symptom goes away. I have a vid about that
