Iranian people are among the kindest and their hospitality is unique. We judge mainly countries due to their governments and ruling regimes... and due to what the media want to shows us, which is mainly one side of the medal. Thank you Eva for what you do and for your amazing vlogs! 💜
Irans government is not perfect, but way better than any western governments who have been bombing n destroying nations, committing war crimes genocide all over the world including middle east n iran for centuries. Irans government is fighting a great fight againts the evil Western imperialism, that's why their the bad guys.

18:30 - It is deeply rooted in Iranian politeness and hospitality rules to refuse favors ("tarof"), especially from a guest. The behaviour of these men was fully compliant to their society's standards, they were not being rude. It is important to point this out.
And the fact that they knew if they join the guests' meal, there is a possibility for the guests to not having enough of the food :) This is probably another reason that I guess as an Iraninan.
@It Is Cool That depends on the context of course. This is a very special and rather expensive present. What you describe is different from what I said: you can give presents to your host, but your host is socially obliged to take care of everything related to hospitality, especially food (like in Evas case). The person will probably refuse at first out of politeness ("tarof"), but if you insist, they will eventually accept it and enjoy the gift.
