    It's heartbreaking to hear of Maciej's truck, and him saying that the arsonist was acting like a "typical Pole." I hope to think that he is the typical Polish. Super kind of him and his shop for building up Odyssey as well as teaching you more about it's systems and maintenance. What a good person! :) Great video and cheers from the US.

      It's really a crass divide, I have friends from there really close to my heart, the kindest people you could imagine, yet I have also met pure vile assholes from there. It's a miracle, either the one or the other, almost no grey zone of characters available.

      Poles tend to be their own harshest critics. Of course, as long as the Critic is a Pole too - in other case, we immediately get really proud and defensive :D. It's a really funny quirk of ours. We very much don't even realize that, until something triggering such reaction pops up.

      I feel like the content has suffered since the arrival of the truck. Show seems self-obsessed and truck-obsessed. I hope she gets back to what she does so well -- visiting faraway places and telling the stories of people she meets (not her stories of her relationships, what she had for breakfast and latest truck problems, modifications). This episode had me fast-forwarding through a lot of it.

    Adoring the useful changes you made to Odyssey. Your goal of South to North travel is bold; bold is badass!! Having it put on pause does not detract from how epic and fierce your vision is!!!! Mourn a bit; a natural state for abrupt change. Channel the energy into a passion project that doesn't require wilderness - making pierogi with Grandma, other Polish traditions and places; or something else entirely. Followers are here for you because of honest story telling and spirit.
    We will be here when South to North can resume.

      Eva, I believe you are trying to prove your self and the world something. It is amazing what you are doing. However, whatever you are trying to prove yourself and the world it is not worth wasting these yrs that you could have your own children. Your own Children or child are/is something you can't buy in a store or find at the remotest places. A child loves you, helps you and will be there when you are old if you raise her/him full with love and with God's love .we all have eternal life and that love will never die , the love between you and your child/children. Being a mother can be the hardest job in the world but its worth it.

    Hi Eva. I'm a NZ expat living in Uruguay - I can tell you that at the moment there are not restrictions for visitors, only PCR test as usual and retest after a few days and you're good to go! I'll be travelling to Argentina in a couple of weeks and the situation there is the same, even better because you won't need to do the test again. I'd say that Chile is the most difficult because of the government's policy on vaccine validation which can take up to a month to process. I'll be happy to assist you if you need more information. Cheers!

It's a beautiful country and tons of things to visit, mountains to hike and cold enough you can try your Antarctic equipment. There are also the northern countries, in the middle of winter. What a gent helping you fix and upgrade Odessy. Shame re the travel changes.
    That all said, we meet some amazing folk in out lives. Those that support and help us and those we call friends.
    My day started today finding that someone had damaged my car ( Land Rover ) and just left. No note nothing. Going to have to foot that bill.
    Then I get to my photo studio this evening 2 hours before a shoot to find the ceiling has collapsed due to water damage. After a frantic 15 mins of multiple phone calls I had got a handle on what caused it and obtained access to another local studio to get my shoot done thank you to a friend in the industry.
    Since I have had offers of help to repair the place, offers off equipment as some of mine was damaged and my good friend of 20+ years drove over from Liverpool to help start the clean up.
    Brilliant people.
    Also the model I was shooting this evening just made me LOL and brightened up the evening.

After my mom passed, life turned upside down and when life finally settled down in 2015, my husband and I wanted to do the trip to Poland. After saving and planning and a few more hiccups in life, covid entered our world. We have not traveled for almost 3 years now. I have found your videos and it reminds me of m childhood when my parents took us camping all over the USA. As an adult, I joined the Navy and got to travel all over. When I got married my husband traveled for business so I went with. We always went to places the tourists don’t see because it was more adventurous. I miss traveling and it’s so sad the world is like this right now. I am feeling your pain and frustration. There are still so many places I want to visit! • @dragosalexpop
      @dragosalexpop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      What about drilling a hole in the roof, somewhere to the side of the roof tent but under it, closing it off with some sort of insulated cap so that the cold/rain cannot enter the car. Then, when you need the tube, instead of pulling it outside from the car through the window, you pull it through the roof hole instead. And you can even make a small hole/pocket to the tent in that area to pass the tube through from under it. To me it feels much more integrated and safer, not to mention easier to store.

      Hi. Sorry. Maybe I just don’t get this at all and will sound rude. But, why? Isn’t it just wasting heat?
      Maybe I’m just too Scandinavian here. :) But if you do wanna sleep in a tent in the middle of the winter, couldn’t just get a sleeping bag that works for -30C or something? Depending how artic you think it will be around you, minus twenty would probably be more than enough for most people, to be honest.
      I’m clearly just guessing here. But, wouldn’t most of the heat leak out anyway, thus, leaving you pretty cold regardless?

    • @dragosalexpop
      @dragosalexpop 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Good call. It is really unpredictable to how the countries will react. Shipping a car is a huge gamble with this.
    As an alternative, you could go to places that are open, buy a local car and see how far you can go? Other than that, I hope that everything will open up again in April.
    Stay optimistic: South America isn't going away! You'll get your trip sooner or later!

Comparison is not our friend right now, trying to deal with disappointment by seeing how things could be worse doesn’t always help. Especially in prolonged episodes of frustrations and setbacks. I think you be able to pick up your plans again in a couple of months. I suspect it's more of a delay than a full cancelation. I was thinking, after already having your shower stolen it seems likely that your rooftop storage cases, water container, new table and anything else that is only latched down - and, not literally locked down - is likely to also get stolen, sooner of later. Hopefully you can add a digital lock or keyed system to anything you don't want folks to walk off with.
    I'm sure you'll decide on something worthwhile to do while Omnicron passes. You seem very pragmatic and flexible in being able to pivot when needed - can't wait to see what you decide to do!

    Good evening Eva, Tell your friend (Omer)from the off road shop that helped you to modify your vehicle that I believe the fire in his vehicle was an electric fire that started in his engine area. This usually happens in this kind of mods when you start adding aftermarket electrical gear in your car. It is the result of wrong cable gauge, wires not tight properly, electric overload or underpower. Ways to mitigate for this, adding up independent circuit breakers to separate the car electrical system from the other gear, or in case of under power, add a power supply to compensate for power not produced by you car generator. Pretty much you have to add some electrical features from RVs to make it reliable and safe. That has happened to me before. I have over 30 years of experience in civilian and military vehicles. I started doing this with my father when I was 13. Tell him to be positive, not be disgruntled about stuff like this, and to continue enjoying his great projects. Also, be aware, this can happen to you sooner or later the more gear you add to your Rover . I recently started watching your channel. Your are such a brave and adventurer person. My family and I admire your drive. We also follow Charly Sinewan and adventurer like you. He has a lot of experience and he can be a great advisor and contact for your trips. Sincerely, Victor
