Humffray River Track to Mt Sarah

- Picking up at the eastern end of Wonnangatta we head down the Humfray River Track, up Waterspur Track to Mt Sarah. Some great tracks, very scenic and while I've driven this route several times it's the first time I've filmed the Waterspur Track.
Waterspur Track is one of the consistently steep tracks in the high country rising almost 1km along its 6-7km length.
The Mt Sarah summit makes a great lunch spot, as while it's surrounded by tree's it's also more sheltered than other summits for this reason.

Great day of driving! What a fun route. Good to see a different perspective and relive it. Great video! Looking forward to the next one ;)
Thx mate was a great trip. We packed a lot in.
It's a nice drive through Mt Sarah down to Talbotville. Been up and down Water Spur a couple of times. Looks in good condition. Thanks for sharing, and really enjoying the channel :-)
Thx mate appreciate it.
Riley's track is a pretty straight forward and an easy track from memory.
Always wondered what water spur track was like
Thanks for sharing
No worries steep but in good condition
Wow - Water Spur highway these days! We drove down it 6 or 7 years ago in the wet - the most scared I've ever been I think :) There's been a lot of road building done.
I can imagine. Been that way last few years. Got a good grade around the time of the 2019 bushfire I think
Yay
Thx
Enjoyed that one, thanks Jase. When do we get to see the 76 doing battle mate? Sorry, I'm a bit impatient. Cheers, BobbyB.
Thx mate appreciate your patience. Dropping a vic desert shake down trip in the 76 in after this. It's epic. You won't be disappointed.
Subbed! Enjoyed the trek series thru Wonnagatta & onwards. Just one request for future .......... can u give viewers an indication of rough distances / times taken for your trips. Also any fuel stop tips ....... for instance before starting out did u fill up at Wangaratta & how long did that last? Did u need top up from fuel can? Where was next fuel stop? Etc. Thanks. Really enjoyed.
Thanks mate. Time taken is very difficullt as it takes us much longer when we're filming, so if I quote the time we took it's unlikely to be accurate for you.
Fuel I can cover off, although again that varies markedly from vehicle to vehicle. For example, Luca who drives a 4.8L Petrol Patrol uses almost exactly twice as many litres of petrol as I do diesel in the v8 76.
So again fuel range etc will vary markedly vehicle to vehicle and how it's loaded as well.
Thanks for subbing and enjoying the content.
Thanks. Appreciated & understood. Just looking for all the trip planning i can find lol. @@OffTheBeatenPathAus
@@misdamagoo213not a bad idea! Most of the mishaps I've had have been when I've spontaneously changed plans or done something last minute.
I have to say I was surprised at how hard the Pajero made the simple crossings look. Must be the very poor wheel travel of that fully independent suspension. I mean, Humffray river and Water spur are easy run tracks, yet you had trouble on wet exits from simple crossings. Seems the Paj is not adverse to cocking a leg in the air! Almost mandatory addition of a differential lock, before the Paj is worthy of taking off-road. Suppose I have been spoilt by only having live axles all the time wheeling.
There's not a lot of down travel at all in the IFS. I think line choice had something to do with it, as in I chose badly. Dan was driving a Prado with essentially the same front end setup, solid axle and coils in the rear though.
Next vids will be 76 ?
well as it happens the very next vid will be a 76 vid, just not off road. Will finish this trip then 1 more video and jump to a winter VIC Desert Shakedown Trip some of the most fun wheeling I've done, worht the wait!
