  • The original plan for this trip was revisiting Yarrabulla Creek track but that wasn't to be so we took the opportunity to do some exploring and take some tracks we hadn't driven before to head back to Mt Selwyn.
    Took the Yarrabuck Track and Buffalo Range Tracks which may well be one of, if not the longest Ridgeline tracks in the High Country, certainly among one's I've driven.

      Thx mate, few people keep reminding me they appreciate that. Takes a bit of time to pull together but glad you and others find it useful.

    Really enjoy your videos. The longer introduction with the maps and some info is actually really helpful & interesting. The track info you give as you travel too is good to hear too. Keep the great videos coming & know they are appreciated. Hope to bump into you out there one day.

    Another great video thank you Jason
    Regarding Buffalo range Track, I do it at least twice a year in summer and winter, can’t get enough of the place.
    Totally agree,The views are endless . And it’s open 24/7 and if you really want to, you can get all the way to Licola in winter if your game to cross the crooked /Wongungarra rivers❤️

    Great video love watching them.
    Always makes me and my dad want to go bush!
    Also down for a drive (depending on work)
    This is our back yard just about, so gives us lots of ideas and places to visit 😊

    Great video, thanks Jason. I have one of those Hyperflame stoves as well, you can take off the knobs that control the flame and remove the grease that Coleman have applied on the nozzles. Once this is removed, you put the knobs back on and can maintain a very low flame and simmer rather than have it seemingly on full noise all the time. There are a few You Tube vids that show how to do this hack. If Buffalo Ridge track is not seasonally closed then I will get up there soon. Cheers

      Thx mate has been on my list to modify but hasn't made it to the top yet. It's definitely not seasonally closed, start from Yarrabuck Track at Goldie Spur if you can! It's a magic drive.

    We drove this rippa track up from Schultz track into the Buckland after exiting the Wannagatta. Gotta agree that this is one of the most scenic ridgeline tracks to drive.
    We might have to head into the wannagatta this way next time and enjoy the view in reverse.
    Definitely like your intro with the maps.
    Cheers mate

      Thx Mate, glad to hear someone else taking this one and feelling the same way about it. Taking this track to Selwyn then down waterspur and via Humfray River is a great entrance to Wonnangatta.

    Great video thanks Jason! I'd planned this exact trip a few months ago for this weekend, after the seasonal track closures were lifted, came across your video last week which was great timing 😊. Yep, I agree I think this may be Australia's best ridge drive! Just like Blue Rag, but longer. Yarrabuck trail is now open with some awesome climbs & descents, but the track from the five ways intersection to the summit of Mt Selwyn is still closed.

    • @OffTheBeatenPathAus
      @OffTheBeatenPathAus  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thx for the feedback! Also good to know that summit track is still closed that's nuts been closed months now.
      Hope you enjoyed the trip. It's an amazing drive and so under-rated. Wonder if you can get to Selwyn Summit via Dingo Creek track at the moment

    Buffalo Range, a great drive I rate every bit as good as Blue Rag - but longer. I am heading up there this Monday (16/10/23) for 5 days of wheeling and to finish up south near Avon Wilderness.

    • @OffTheBeatenPathAus
      @OffTheBeatenPathAus  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Couldn't agree more, it doesn't get the attention Blue Rag and others do but great drive and yes, much longer, also you don't have to turn around and drive the same track out. Enjoy your trip!

    • @trickster8635
      @trickster8635 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You would be surprised to learn that once upon a time, you could drive through and out to Mt.Murray from Blue Rag. If you know where to look, you can just make out the old alignment that had a track running off a spur, across the river and up the south flank of Mt.Murray. Hellishly steep and probably the reason for it's closure.@@OffTheBeatenPathAus

    What mapping program do you use?

    • @OffTheBeatenPathAus
      @OffTheBeatenPathAus  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey Mate, in car I run a Hema HX2, on my phone and PC (which I use to record the intro's with Maps) I run Memory Map with Hema and other maps purchased on that store.
