      Sorry to butt in here.
      Have you ever considered doing another material art to the same level as what you have with Taekwondo such as BJJ or wrestling so as to add to you fight game.
      If you combined Wonderland with say a grappling art I have no doubt that you would have a lethal combination there.
      (my back ground is boxing, wrestling and Judo.)

    • @GingerNinjaTrickster
      @GingerNinjaTrickster  9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      bighands69 I already do several arts. Check out my samplers and you will see some of them creep in, especially the grappling dummy, versys and allstike ones :)

      What martial arts are stronger?

    • @gcon.807
      @gcon.807 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      broly standbyme, If you mean “What are the strongest martial arts?” Then I got you. No martial art is stronger than the other(usually) because everyone has preferred techniques, different professions, etc. I’m not saying that a TKD black belt can go out in the street and beat a Jujitsu black belt because that would be a little unrealistic, do to the ground combat exp. the jujitsu practitioner has. But, people can utilize a martial art to be more effective by twisting the techniques a bit.
      That’s my conclusion! I hope it served you well😊

    This is a favourite kick of mine, and I use it pretty successfully in TKD sparring by feigning an abdomen-level side kick, before releasing a higher side kick to the head (learned it by watching Donnie Yen). Of course, gotta control the amount of power used.
    I just know that the side kick is a pretty devastating one, but this vid helped me to better understand its usage and purpose. You make TKD look like science, and have helped me appreciate it better.
    Continue the great work!

    I myself practice WTF Taekwondo for about 21 years now, and I enjoy it when fellow Martial Artist knows how to explain their moves the way they supposed to be, as you do. Also like that you keep respect on both ITF and WTF in your comments. As both Taekwondo styles got their origin starting point at one place in time.
    Then there are lots of ITF and WTF sabums who explain it just as you do, great job keep it up.

    You've got INSANE technique. From a teaching perspective, watch this and note how often you use the word "obviously". It's both a speaking crutch, and to the beginner, the things you point out are not obvious. They are new and specific. Keep at it!

    I am so so happy I found your channel! I trained in ITF Taekwondo for many years growing up, and I'm very glad it was my first martial art. I got my 1st Dan Black and was actively pursuing my 2nd Dan for years before a very unfortunate incident forced my instructor to close the school. You teach in a similar manner that he did, very detailed and step by step. I then trained MMA for years and no one at my gym could kick as hard as me except for the muay thai instructor haha. I'm in my early 30s now and still have the muscle memory from all those years of repetitive training. Anyway, great channel and so awesome to see quality, legit ITF TKD. It's ALL WTF where I live and has been for a decade :(

    Thank you :) I like to explain things the best i can and not be ignorant that other styles and more modern martial arts might do the kick a little differently or from a different stance. This is one of the main reasons i started doing tutorials because i thought people could get a better understanding and find the kick a lot easier to do if i elaborated on what others were teaching. Thank you again :)

Being able to see everything step-by-step, in slow motion, from the side, and in an actual sparring situation makes everything much clearer! The basics are obviously the most efficient to use but if you are looking for some realistic flash moves to try then i'd say spin back kick or hook kick, jump versions of those too and 360 roundhouse is probably the most flash i'd go in K1. Good luck :)

    My instructor is Master Gary Gassor VII Degree :) It depends on the purpose of the kick. For speed you can lift the knee up straight and turn the leg as you are making the side kick and for power you bring it around and into your chest to create more momentum. Hope that helps and good luck :)

    I'm glad that you think that. Thank you :) The only rivalry should be against oneself as there is no superior martial art so I always keep an open mind. learn from and respect different styles :)
    Thank you and i will do my best :)

    Love your videos brother. I always tell my students you can tell a lot about a TKD practitioner from their side kick...

    Great overview of how the sidekick can be performed and the devastating effects if performed correctly. Please post a video tutorial that shows how to develop this kick to the level you demonstrate. Thanks for a great tutorial.

    They both have their uses in different situations. I prefer the blade mainly due to surface area and the chances of connecting is therefore greater but that's me :)

    Thank you for your very detailed tutorial. I would have like to see you follow through several times with the Side Kick at the very end of your video, putting everything you just taught together. Thank you!

    That would depend on the situation. If your being aggressive i recommend the outward so you don't get caught on your way in and if it's a counter you can shift your body out of the way and make the inward downward kick. I say that in the tutorial i think. Yea, i teach and it is my father's school :)

    Amazing skill and effort young Gassor! Really appreciate your posting of this martial arts video clip. Your instructions are very easy to follow making the mechanics of the kick easy to grasp in spite of the difficulty of the whole drill. Hope you always keep in good health and shape to keep spreading your knowledge of this beautiful discipline. Thanks a lot from Venezuela, South America.
