Well, they put it on egs so it's safe to assume we gotta wait like a year till they add it to steam as well. Which is funny because this is a free game, what's the point of "exclusivity" on something you don't even have to pay to play?
The irony of putting characters from live service games they shut down in a live service game that's close to being shutting down is not lost on anyone who played phantoms in the past.
The most frustrating thing about xdefiant is that when it fails, everyone's going to point to the lack of sbmm as the main culprit and not the 10 other problems with the game
Check out Metacube9913 comment lol. They should remove factions back to being Operators instead or map specific factions like COD4/BO1/BO2 etc… then change the abilities to equip or scorestreaks. That will help and then they can work on the netcode

Halo 2 technically had SBMM, but it was more fun because the upper and lower limits were greater than they are with current matchmakers which offered a greater variety of matches.

Source that everyone got back to cod? Xdefiant to a HUGE portion of people was like a last chance of having a "old school" experience and it failed to a lot of people because of its issues so people left cod and xdefiant totally (maybe even the whole fps scene).
For me it was the sweats. Xdefiant has all the sweats that COD has. Qyickscoping, bunny copping, slide kills I found myself just as stressed as playing COD
my only problem of that stupid gadget is it is too hard to kill, it is fine as it is, just let us able to shoot while it latch to auto destroy it, and only take 1-2 hit when it is on ground. I've no idea why it is so hard to balance this
Its super Ok. Gets the job done.....mostly for being a Cod-Like/ Arcade Shooter. Just gotta buff out a few scratches along the way. Still wished they just brought it to Steam and that would, perhaps, solve the player count problem.
My biggest issue with this game is how grindy it is. It takes forever to just unlock attachments for your guns on top of how long it takes to unlock skins. When I stopped playing really the only way to unlock things is to get kills. This was before tdm was added so people would ignore objectives to focus on getting kills. Winning and losing didn’t matter.
To me, Xdefiant is better than the last like 7 COD games plus it’s free. I play just to play and I always have fun. It’s free, I don’t need tons of content.
Well said. Also I'd prefer to play a game that has a long term plan rather than one that is meant forgotten about in spring once CoD #22 is announced. I prefer a game that wants to do a marathon, not a sprint
Why does everyone ignore problems with a game if it's cheap lmao. No, a game being free doesn't mean it's good, XDefiant is an uninspired piece of slop with no purpose other than to challenge CoD, which it didn't even do. No one will even notice when it gets shut down
started playing the game recently while testing a new mouse (lamzu thorn 4k is amazing btw *not sponsored lol*) and it's quite fun. a shame that it's kinda dying right now... I hope they can turn it around with the next patches/seasons. The lack off skill based matchmaking is insanely noticeable i can finally play an fps where i can relax and have fun lmao.
Not a fan of the ttk in this game, it feels like enemies soak too many bullets and they're dealing like 6 damage per shot and meanwhile I get dropped instantly
Yes I am, there is sbmm up to level 25. After that I was getting a wide variety of "sweaty" players and also players that seemingly have no thumbs. The experience was extremely different to modern cod.

I find the game okish, I just wish the netcode and hacker problem got fixed because it's legit unbearable and the reason I stopped playing almost 2 weeks ago :/
There’s barely any cheaters. The netcode is a genuine concern but it’s not enough of a deterrent to say the game isn’t fun. You’ll get better over time once you realize how much sbmm has been holding you back.
@@pubplays368 first - theres no sbmm Second - the netcode is enough to keep me from playing, I don't like fighting against stuff I cannot fix since they aren't my fault Third - idk in which region you play, but in Europe cheaters are unbearable, if say 1 every 5 matches, always seeing through walls (no echelon) and speed hacking.
@@RustyTheFoxxo Reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit I see. No where did I say XDefiant has sbmm. I think this game was more of a rude awakening for a lot of CoD fans. They actually expected to be transported back to 2005 once the SBMM was removed, but all they got was that they were washed and needed to "get gud," which didn't settle well with the average CoD fan that thinks they deserve to be good simply because they're a veteran of 10+ years and blamed SBMM for their lack of fun. The only people that benefitted from no SBMM were the parties of friends and actual top percentile players. The average solo CoD player was borderline miserable and just went back to CoD.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon yeah not denying that. I just noticed that the majority that first tried it out were CoD fans that wanted a game with no SBMM thinking it would solve all their problems. It clearly didn't. Even I hopped on as someone who was just curious as a CoD player that could care less about SBMM and even I was underwhelmed. It also doesn't help that I don't play a lot of Ubisoft games outside of Siege, so the references and crossovers didn't do much for me.
Tbh, I tried the game and thought it was really good, the worst thing is the Hero aspect, ffs why a dude can throw a drone almost after dying or kill everyone in a big area. It felt really unfair and dying to that took all the fun out of the game
Yup. Agree with everything here and why I moved on. I don’t hate hero shooters. I’ve been playing valorant exclusively. I wanted defiant to scratch the itch I used to have for cod but man oh man. Those times are over it seems. Great vid. Thumbs up
As someone who has not played many shooting games in recent years it was very entertaining to hear you going in depth about a game I had never heard about. The clips made it look kinda fun tho, not putting a f2p shooter on steam is kinda shocking
Remove this fucking hero shit from shooters for fucks sake. The whole special abilities just makes it so unfun. Last time I played this game I had an enemy team all using the shield and spider drones and it made me quit and never want to play again. After a week I uninstalled and that's it. The game is AGGRESSIVELY MID. It would be better if it had less features.
This game is like if BO2 and BO4 had a baby and I love it. However, I did have PC issues for the first few months and had to find my own way to fix it (stuttering). The devs are some of the best communicators I've seen when it comes to video games, giving out consistent fixes based off of player feedback, and the game is way better than it was during the alpha, beta, and launch. That base pump shotgun was easily the worst gun in the game at one point. As for the snipers, you should've seen them back then because they were essentially nerfed into the ground. When you see one in game I tend to try and avoid them.
honestly this game just felt like a game that didn't need snipers at all Like just make dmr's the long range option I honestly think a the game plays much better if dmrs were used instead of snipers because you could then challenge long ranged enemies and potentially win
You can feel battlefields soul in the finals when everything is popping off. Bullet whistling, explosions, dust and sparks flying, buildings crumbling, people flying through windows and such. It’s only 4 teams of 3 but the chaos and playstyles really do it for me.
the fact that people were saying this game was gonna "kill" the finals and now its beginning its 4th season while xdefiant might not even make it to its 3rd season is just too funny.
Phantom nerf is incoming, Spiderbot is being reworked completely… More big changes coming, including a lot more content than originally revealed on the first roadmap… They’re changing a lot in the coming season, stuff that many will find both exciting and fun… 😎
@@ITZCHELSEA2244Mmm no? 1 - Better maps 2 - Better matchmaking 3 - Actually has some type of soul 4 - Better movement (only the changing direction midfly is horrible) 5 - Better balancing 6 - Better servers I can keep going and going... The only thing call of duty has better is smoothness, graphics and sounds.
The majority of maps seem to be based of locations from The Division 1 and 2. Makes sense as XDefiant is made in the same game engine. Tho it does make me sad that we probably won’t be seeing a TD3 anytime soon.
Many problems as with any game but really solid as a base. Way too resources allocated for actual content drip so Ubisoft is throwing this game to the wolves. Also also funny to see this game have many of the things people always want in multiplayer shooters and when when it's here, they don't even consider trying it. I'm convinced that people, especially MP shooter focused ones just don't even know what they like, they muddy the waters with their rage addiction fuelled comments that lead developers astray. They buy the worst products too so they can have their yearly, on schedule freakouts about the same things every time. But hey, some people just love shitting on their own bed and laying in it.
This game is definitely on the bad side, it's about as good as an Ubisoft multiplayer can get, which will never be anywhere near tolerable. I won't miss it, Ubisoft will keep releasing slop for decades and no one will notice
Hang on, someone needs to talk about the aggravating invisible barriers EVERYWHERE. If there’s a surface I can realistically jump on, I should be allowed to jump on it.
So basically they went with a battlefield style time to kill, but with modern call of duty movement, cod 1-shot snipers, and a weird hero mechanic. Weird. But seriously, I don't understand how they'd go with battlefield TTK but with 1-shot snipers.
XDefiant was definitely a shooter I had put alot of confidence into, but the netcode killed that feeling very quickly honestly. The devs communicate decently enough with the community, but damn does it suck that netcode updates amount to "This engine we're using isn't built for this level of multiplayer" and being told that it's gonna be at least a season or so away before it *might* be much better, which by then BO6 is probably gonna be out or close to it. It sucks, I really liked XD and had friends that up until S1 liked it too but it's just not feeling how it should especially with netcode issues that've existed since the first alphas and betas of the game.
It's worth playing. I only play it because the current CoDs have that type of strict SBMM that has less match variety and it seems like every match is a CoD championship haha. But at least in XDefiant I can have some fun with the average close matches, there I feel like I can play a bit tactically, rusher or middle ground sometimes depending on the matches and the type of weapon (AR, SMG, LMG or DMR). Yes, the game has hit reg issues sometimes (this latest patch almost solved this problem for me), and also the lack of content during the season and more things to do that aren't long like weapon levels just to get camouflages (but that's just my opinion)
I personally like the fact that the factions are original characters based off other games. I've genuinely grown to like a lot of the designs but that's just me. I do think it could be enhanced by some more lines reflecting the characters' personalities, or just someway to expand upon their characters a little. But I feel you on everything else in the video
Once the inevitable COD cycle kicks in and people get bored of BO6 or SBMM i imagine they will pick up XDefiant. Its a case of the devs need more for players to do though
nah they dropped the game close to june which is usually around where the "this game sucks phase" start in the cycle of a cod that also was pretty horribly recived everywhere there were comments about mw3 being "dlc". if they couldnt manage it then they certainly cant when a cod thats had a full on 4 year dev time drops
@@TheErikjsm dunno i wouldn’t count it out. 3arc is EASILY the best studio so its a tougher task that normal but its not impossible. They DO need to put the work in though
Deadsec hijack is the superior ability. When you have that equipped you pretty much have a nerfed version of the engineer perk you asked for earlier. Cause anytime an enemy equipment is in front of you, including bouncing betties there is a line on your screen aimed directly towards it. So you can more easily avoid the betties. It does have to be in front of you though, so if you're suddenly turning around a corner it can still catch you off-guard. Another thing is that it can hack multiple equipment at once. If say there are 3 Phantom Shields within your line of sight, all 3 get hacked It's such a good ability, but most would rather just get a free kill instead of just getting good. Really the biggest problem with Hijack is that the EMP can kind of already do its job and sometimes even better.... which is why I combine them both. Helps that those EMP's can get refreshed.
my main problems include many characters being detestable in design and style, a lack of variety in the franchises (two factions are from the same game), and a rousing trip to the meat grinder when matches are unbalanced. like, seriously, there was many such cases of me repeatedly spawning directly in the path of someone flanking our spawn. you can't do that!
In 70 hours of play time I have had only 1 bad spawn. On a match of occupy on Arena I died and when I respawned there was trip mine that was either going off, or was set off by my spawn, and I died immediately. That was the only time I’ve ever died within 5 second of spawning and that was the only bad spawn I’ve ever had in this game
I honestly really hope it doesn't shut down man. As someone that's just getting into shooters, this is the best simplistic shooter I've played. Key word: simplistic. I'm looking for a simple shooter. I just wanna shut my brain off and play TDM. Other games have more complicated mechanics and that's not my thing. XDefiant just has a team with a unique perk, and a gun preset. That's it, and that's why I like it.
XDefiant still has the chance to celebrate a huge comeback but it has to do a lot of things right therefore. I still prefer this game way over any current cod…
skill based matchmaking hurts in games, play by myself and i can never really do well, play with my friend and i get absolutely stomped on because he's literally a semi-pro counterstrike player
I play ironsight all the time. I frequently got into games faster in ironsight than xdefiant. Though that's largely because of xdefiant's bad matchmaking system. Learn what dead means.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon Sorry pal, maybe I'm not an expert, but according to Steam Charts, Ironsight has an average of 120 players and declining every month... I have to be honest, the game looks pretty cool and I really like it, but it's very sad that most of the people don't give it a chance

People with a brain absolutely care about sbmm because it ruins the experience if you're good. Server browsers have no sbmm so it's literally exactly what you want.
@Jarekthegamingdragon I'm not good and SBMM ruins my game too. I have a few good games and suddenly I'm sweating like crazy just to go 5/20. It's not fun. It's not fun at all. I avoid games with SBMM because it doesn't ever feel like I'm progressing, learning or improving. Its just wild swings from good to bad.
"makes game exclusive to distribution platform many people have probably never even heard of that requires an account to use" Ubisoft: durrr why is nobody playing our gaem
I played it a lot when it released (the pre-season period), and it was pretty fun. It just felt stale after some time because there's not a lot of guns and characters, or even progression items to chase. Fun, but lacks something for the long term.
I have put 230+ hours into this game and honestly I’ve enjoyed myself most the time. Although, the regular guns got boring pretty fast so I just used snipers most the time. Even after the flinch patch quick scoping in this game felt a lot better than any recent cod sniper gameplay in my opinion. I don’t play anymore cus the maps just feel soooo old me to now, I know everybody says they’re great but they are just good… I felt like I got tired of them faster than I would compared to a cod game.
I feel like sliding in games could be easily balanced by A) Just making the guys less accurate while doing it. And B) not cancelling slides straight into another movement. A slide is just a slide. You slide THEN jump... at which point there's essentially no benefit to doing it. Sliding is a great way to get out of somewhere OR aggressively push into somewhere. Like the idea of sliding under some cover that you can crouch under and shotgunning people on the other side is fine but that's the extent of which the slide should be used offensively, none of this high octane crack smoking movement speeds
I personally think it's good that they chose to have a higher TTK, to make positioning less vital and set itself apart from COD. But I do agree with your point that instakill snipers just straight up break that design decision. They come out on top in every scenario. They're annoying to fight against, and they're the meta at this point.
One of the few good things about Xdefiant: The design of one of the Echelon characters (Malee) Mainly 'cuz of the skintight catsuit. And we all know that we like a good catsuit.
Me, my boyfriend, and my older sibling all gave this game a shot when it was first released. It’s so uninteresting and has absolutely 0 staying power, my boyfriend and sibling both forgot about the game after a week, and I went back to MWIII almost immediately.
X Defiants problem is exactly this. There is no content involving gameplay its cosmetics or challenges, kill records etc. When it first came out you had some players that were popular playing it but then the content became about the news of stuff happening outside the game so to speak and not about the game. They severely lack the content so all you can do is grind your gun levels and that's about it pretty much. The game is fun to play and I stream the game when I can because I enjoy playing the game and showcasing how fun it can be. Just wish there was more maps, more guns, challenges to play and work towards. Skins via challenges would be huge also for each gun.
The Flamebomb is fookin hillarious to use. I once managed to flank a group of 4 players hunkering down behind a phantom shield on the hardpoint and boom, they were gone XD. It's also the best "piss off" tool in the game. Someone is bothering you up close? Drop it, problem solved. It has the same balancing philosophy of shotguns. Very lethal, but you need to be up close.
The hero shooter push has to do with monetization, the seller have a lot more visual styles to attach the same sell to. Which probably will not work here, because these heroes do not have strong visual identity.
Yes, the too high health makes ARs and SMGs feel slippery especially combined with the movement... like they shoot marshmallows. At first I had big faith in this but after playing it really didn't feel nearly as good as the old cods.
They're working on a lot of changes and fixes on things you mentioned here. The phantoms getting a movement nerf and 115 HP instead of 120 will be huge. Big netcode updates coming S2. It has been a rough launch and first season, but this game has so much potential. I do wish the ability system was adjusted somehow. I like the basic idea, kill streaks/scorestreaks make the game more about kills. I think the current system is good for encouraging objective play. That's the big difference I think between XDefiant and COD. COD has become a meat grinder kill simulator. XDefiant is trying to lean more into actually playing the obj to win the game.
i feel like a big gripe you have is associating it with COD when the devs never promoted as such. nor ever acknowledged the youtuber claims of being a cod killer. i feel like if you removed that expectation going into it youll see the game in a brighter light. regardless it has its flaws and is in that gray area of being a genuinely good game but its just missing those key elements. thats my perspective tho cuz it wasnt the devs saying cod killer. it was ppl like jev and etc cod players saying it. also i think liscensing and copyright issues are the reason they wont put sam fisher and others into the game. they avoid a paying royalties to them if they use made up characters. even tho splinter cell is owned by ubisoft the model/character and VA is not owned by them.
It absolutely was promoted as being competition to cod. Their devs were constantly comparing it to cod. It plays like cod. That is 100% a fair comparison. So when it's worse than the game it's copying, that's bad.
The thing with this game is that people look up to it like it's owned by Activision in the sense that they have tons of titles on their name and are 100% experienced in delivering proper shooter games. Well, that's not the case. There are several things listed here which are a hit or miss situation and will eventually be patched or completely changed. The sniper flinch, the spider bot, the ranked system, etc. But that's the whole point, people are not patient anymore and will probably spend $70 on CoD every year despite it having SBMM/EOMM, lacking tons of stuff Ubisoft is doing well on this game and overall just not justifying it's price tag. The aim assist aspect is a tricky one because most people play on controller (and rightfully so) and nerfing it to the ground wouldn't do the game any good. Compared to CoD it's way more balanced, but then again people don't care because Activision has been carrying out tons of brainwashing since at least 2019.
Coming from Titanfall 2 and Apex, sliding and jumping as a concept is only good if the main playstyle of a game is *based* around the movement mechanics. Xdefiant is not. Some could say apex isn't, but the devs actively support and encourage movement techniques, and wctovely avoid patching the bugs that cause said movement techs. A large portion of the game play it JUST for the movement, and care very little about actually winning or doing good. The movement alone *feels* good and is as rewarding as winning a game for those players, so there's a nice balance. Not so much in xdefiant
Imagine having a game launcher so hated, people won't even go there to play free games. they rather go to steam or any other server to download the game and the shit ubisoft thingy.
The faction abilities/equipment do sound a lot like BO4, where things like that horrible shock drone and attack dog existed. No skill involved; just chuck 'em out and the other player can do NOTHING about dying. I can't help but notice in the video how the feedback when you shoot someone doesn't look very satisfying either, unlike most CODs.
I liked xdefient. A nice simple game. If they close the servers I'll be really disappointed. Haven't got my PS5 anymore so I can't play it now but I'll be sad if they close it before I can play again
The only complaints I had with this game were the abysmal time to kill and the hero operators. If they improved both of these things, id start playing again. It just doesn't feel rewarding dumping my entire mag into one person half the time because the gun I'm using is one of the 80% of guns that aren't good and I'm not slide jumping constantly
It was a good distraction for a while. But people were ultimately gonna ride on over to the next COD release. COD like World of Warcraft, has a community of people that have become attached to the series over the years, and it can be very difficult to yank people over. Both titles have insane staying power because of the connection and attachment to the brand. XDefiant tried to emulate it, but it's just not the same.

@@afd19850Yeah, I’ve played so many games with SBMM and it’s barely noticeable, meanwhile COD might as well have a giant screen saying “EXCUSE ME, YOU’VE BEEN PLAYING A LITTLE TOO WELL, TIME TO MATCH YOU AGAINST PRO PLAYERS NOW” taking up the full screen space lol
@@unlimitedricepudding7826 agreed, the guy who created COD’s SBMM for Bo2 said. Its a dial and the current settings are not what he implemented. Basically they have jacked it up to max!
@@afd19850 It doesn’t help that it’s very easy to exploit by reverse boosting as well
According to the Xdefiant discord, the spider bot is going to become a defensive bot instead of an offensive ability.
Remember when everyone said "This is so much better than COD!" then everyone went back to COD a week later
That’s definitely not true, so many of us left that EOMM copy paste garbage long ago and will never return. It’s players like that who will be on XD until “it dies”
Tried the bo6 beta, I sure prefer XD and it isn’t close. Everyone has different preferences. Idgaf about camo grinds n shit I like good maps and good gunplay without EOMM and SBMM interference and constant packet burst partially fueled by mandatory texture streaming. Cold War was my last purchase and I actually liked it besides the matchmaking and hackers. Been playing CoD since 2001 OG. Refuse to pay AAA $ for another
Source that everyone got back to cod? Xdefiant to a HUGE portion of people was like a last chance of having a "old school" experience and it failed to a lot of people because of its issues so people left cod and xdefiant totally (maybe even the whole fps scene).
For me it was the sweats. Xdefiant has all the sweats that COD has. Qyickscoping, bunny copping, slide kills I found myself just as stressed as playing COD
They all realised they actually suck at FPS without SBMM to hold there hand.
The spider bot is getting a big change soon. It's basically going to be a portable emp that runs around next to you instead
my only problem of that stupid gadget is it is too hard to kill, it is fine as it is, just let us able to shoot while it latch to auto destroy it, and only take 1-2 hit when it is on ground.
Can’t be worse than Concord. It’s certainly lasted longer.
Plus it plays and looks 1000000x better
That is a very low bar. It might as well just be a lip.
@@shadowmamba95 but the fact the bar exists at all is something.
Concord was straight up garbage. The problem with Xdefiant it's that it's just a mid game. Nothing horrible, nothing great
@@HeideGuy and the worse part is it’s got potential, which is 90% of Ubisofts identity nowadays…
Double xp weekends help a lot (especially when using a xp token).
To me, Xdefiant is better than the last like 7 COD games plus it’s free. I play just to play and I always have fun. It’s free, I don’t need tons of content.
Facts
Well said. Also I'd prefer to play a game that has a long term plan rather than one that is meant forgotten about in spring once CoD #22 is announced. I prefer a game that wants to do a marathon, not a sprint
Totally agree. The game is fun to play and I prefer this over modern COD. Hope it won't be shut down
Well the lack of content means less players aka ubi will probably shut it down @@venkugin8154
Completely agree
Not a fan of the ttk in this game, it feels like enemies soak too many bullets and they're dealing like 6 damage per shot and meanwhile I get dropped instantly
It really does feel like that but I think a chunk of it is attributed to ping rates and hit registration to which they desperately need to fix
I think Ubisoft should add vitiligo to it. Vitiligo is sure to bring in the modern audience, and TENS of new players.
I saw Ghost Recon Phantoms as a playable faction and it made me miss this game.
XDefiant is so avg that it's painful to play.
"No SBMM"
You sure about that? The lobbies keep disbanding after every match. That's a huge sign for SBMM.
Yes I am, there is sbmm up to level 25. After that I was getting a wide variety of "sweaty" players and also players that seemingly have no thumbs. The experience was extremely different to modern cod.
@@Jarekthegamingdragon I do get that exact variety in cod aswell so that's not good evidence.
@@trashaimgamer7822 You're putting out a conspiracy theory. It is up to you to prove it exists, not me. Your anecdotal experience is not evidence. There's no sbmm. There's just less casual players as the playercount goes down.
@@pubplays368 first - theres no sbmm
Second - the netcode is enough to keep me from playing, I don't like fighting against stuff I cannot fix since they aren't my fault
Third - idk in which region you play, but in Europe cheaters are unbearable, if say 1 every 5 matches, always seeing through walls (no echelon) and speed hacking.
@@RustyTheFoxxo Reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit I see. No where did I say XDefiant has sbmm. Only that sbmm in other games like cod has been holding YOU back which is why you think there’s so many “cheaters” in xDefiant. And no, the netcode isn’t that bad. Y’all love to exaggerate. Purposely hiding the game on a launcher I didn't even know existed and then complaining about player count is WILD!
I get tired of being jump shooted all the time so I uninstalled and never gone back
I really love the game, but that's something that i really hate from it
I think this game was more of a rude awakening for a lot of CoD fans. The average solo CoD player was borderline miserable and just went back to CoD.
sbmm is fairly irrelevant. The game is just not great so players aren't having a great time nor sticking around.
I like the hijack ability so much, its always amusing hacking a land mine and getting a three piece
I played it and man it Ubi didn't handle it well
When you see one in game I tend to try and avoid them.
honestly this game just felt like a game that didn't need snipers at all
Like just make dmr's the long range option
I honestly think a the game plays much better if dmrs were used instead of snipers because you could then challenge long ranged enemies and potentially win
If you want a good free fps, try The Finals if you haven’t already. It’s made by a bunch of ex Battlefield guys and it’s about to get into season 4
THE JET SETTERS 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Eh, The Finals is a very different kind of game so it's not replacing that cod feel.
The finals is going to fail. They don’t listen to the community, and the matchmaking is horrendous

@@Caralh.o Well in XDefiant you can clearly hear the steps, in COD its kinda difficult
11:20 The fun thing is that old CODs already fixed that problem: If you jump, your aim goes crazy. Problem fixed
The worst thing in my opinion, is that it’s not compatible with k&m on console
That Timesplitters 2 menu music is soo nostalgic and cozy.
I really enjoyed XDefiant.. for 2 days. I then started to notice horrible hit detection issues
Hang on, someone needs to talk about the aggravating invisible barriers EVERYWHERE.
If there’s a surface I can realistically jump on, I should be allowed to jump on it.
I've wasted so many time trying to climb up cars and similar things only to fail and get killed...
So basically they went with a battlefield style time to kill, but with modern call of duty movement, cod 1-shot snipers, and a weird hero mechanic. Weird. But seriously, I don't understand how they'd go with battlefield TTK but with 1-shot snipers.
It's even slower than battlefield ttk. It's baffling.
If it would be on steam. I would play it, for the free game its good
XDefiant was definitely a shooter I had put alot of confidence into, but the netcode killed that feeling very quickly honestly.
I literally forgot about XDefiant after upgrading my pc, but i was interested in try it out😆
I keep forgetting it the game is out lol.
If say there are 3 Phantom Shields within your line of sight, all 3 get hacked
It's such a good ability, but most would rather just get a free kill instead of just getting good. Really the biggest problem with Hijack is that the EMP can kind of already do its job and sometimes even better.... which is why I combine them both. Helps that those EMP's can get refreshed.
I love the game. XDefiant is great in my opinion. The only problem is there is not enough content
DBZ move at 0:18
my main problems include many characters being detestable in design and style, a lack of variety in the franchises (two factions are from the same game), and a rousing trip to the meat grinder when matches are unbalanced.
like, seriously, there was many such cases of me repeatedly spawning directly in the path of someone flanking our spawn. you can't do that!
Huh? All factions are from their own game. Two factions aren't from the same game.
The last time I tried to play a Ubisoft game, I downloaded its launcher, couldn’t sign in, and couldn’t play the game. Never touching them again.
Absolutely needs to be released onto Steam and its stubborn bullshit on behalf of a dying company
XDefiant still has the chance to celebrate a huge comeback but it has to do a lot of things right therefore. I still prefer this game way over any current cod…
putting it on Steam would single handedly boost the player count but yet Ubisoft keeps trying to push their stupid launcher.
skill based matchmaking hurts in games, play by myself and i can never really do well, play with my friend and i get absolutely stomped on because he's literally a semi-pro counterstrike player
You told us to choose IronSight instead of XDefiant, but at least XDefiant still has some life, IronSight is already dead
I play ironsight all the time. I frequently got into games faster in ironsight than xdefiant. Though that's largely because of xdefiant's bad matchmaking system. Learn what dead means.

I don't care about sbmm and no one with half a brain does either, what you need is dedicated server lists instead of matchmaking

"makes game exclusive to distribution platform many people have probably never even heard of that requires an account to use"
Ubisoft: durrr why is nobody playing our gaem
One of the few good things about Xdefiant:
The design of one of the Echelon characters (Malee)
Mainly 'cuz of the skintight catsuit.
And we all know that we like a good catsuit.
Supposed to be a “CoD Killer” but failed to have a TDM mode upon launch.
Me, my boyfriend, and my older sibling all gave this game a shot when it was first released.
It’s so uninteresting and has absolutely 0 staying power, my boyfriend and sibling both forgot about the game after a week, and I went back to MWIII almost immediately.
6:17 I can totally agree with how hard the sbmm is sometimes
X Defiants problem is exactly this. There is no content involving gameplay its cosmetics or challenges, kill records etc. When it first came out you had some players that were popular playing it but then the content became about the news of stuff happening outside the game so to speak and not about the game.
They severely lack the content so all you can do is grind your gun levels and that's about it pretty much.
The game is fun to play and I stream the game when I can because I enjoy playing the game and showcasing how fun it can be. Just wish there was more maps, more guns, challenges to play and work towards. Skins via challenges would be huge also for each gun.
I remember playing when people saw it as an exciting amazing new game.
I did sort of find it okay, but it really could be better in some areas.
Which probably will not work here, because these heroes do not have strong visual identity.
downloaded it yesterday, im having a lot of fun so far
I enjoyed it for a month or so. Get my CoD fix without supporting activision. THUMBS UP
Ayy I have Ironsight open in the background right now. I picked up the game like 3 weeks ago and I love it so much!
i feel like a big gripe you have is associating it with COD when the devs never promoted as such. nor ever acknowledged the youtuber claims of being a cod killer. i feel like if you removed that expectation going into it youll see the game in a brighter light. regardless it has its flaws and is in that gray area of being a genuinely good game but its just missing those key elements. thats my perspective tho cuz it wasnt the devs saying cod killer. it was ppl like jev and etc cod players saying it. also i think liscensing and copyright issues are the reason they wont put sam fisher and others into the game. they avoid a paying royalties to them if they use made up characters. even tho splinter cell is owned by ubisoft the model/character and VA is not owned by them.
The gameplay is great, but the fact that there is no bot support is bad.
I’m glad that we have a mutual disdain for snipers
It was a good distraction for a while. But people were ultimately gonna ride on over to the next COD release. COD like World of Warcraft, has a community of people that have become attached to the series over the years, and it can be very difficult to yank people over. Both titles have insane staying power because of the connection and attachment to the brand. XDefiant tried to emulate it, but it's just not the same.
On the deagle- rip to my homie who quit after max camo grinding out his deagle.
I think it’s a good game for sure, but it’s not in the best of hands
Xdef is my "cod itch" scratcher, lives on my ps5 for when i want some casual fps gameplay
"cod killer" my ass lmao
Nobody wanted it to be a COD killer we just wanted a new fast paced game to play
If you think the Dedsec spiderbot is bad now, during one of the betas it was the ultimate for Dedsec and you would launch out 3 of them at a time
That's actually way less annoying because then they'd use it less
