@alphatito868 It's unplayable in ~170 countries because those countries don't have access to PSN services. The original comment was rounding up to 200 countries from 170. It's still unplayable in the majority of the world, which is not cool.

Arrowhead needs to buy the rights to Helldivers and split. It's the only way this can end peacefully now. Sony isn't the type to give up. They called out Anonymous, didn't immediately back down, got their servers shut down, tried to hide that fact from the public, and paid dearly for that idiocy. Every studio under their control needs to do this.
The problem with that is that you need them to agree, and even if they pay them, they now need servers, which they don't have, and keep them running, as well as have enough money to pay the devs. This could be great, but also the worst decision for indi studios. They could very well just go bankrupt with that.
ahh fake outrage.. sony did nothing... yall cried.. thought you won.. sony never changed ... as for anonymous shutting down servers.. they were the thiefs not sony.. same people that hacked arrowhead. seems like sony is the only one to stand up to the crydivers and pirates.
@@Malou4000 Not entirely. Yes, they'll need to agree to selling rights, Arrowhead can easily split still without Helldivers and make a new IP that is similar to Helldivers. Servers are a non-issue. Helldivers 2, and most games today honestly, are Peer 2 Peer, meaning that the game environment is built on Player A (Host) computer, while Players B, C, and D are in that sandbox. SOME stuff will require servers, but not as much as you think. At most, they'd need servers to store things like account information. And going bankrupt is a risk, but shuttering would happen no matter what. Remember, Firewalk got closed down by Sony recently, and there's rumors Sony might be about to acquire Bungie's talent and close them down. With the current support around Arrowhead, there's a good chance that if they split, the community would continue to follow them. Hell, they might even win favor from the 170 countries still banned if they split and let them back in. As long as they don't go pulling a Pete Parson, I'm pretty confident Arrowhead could split and stay afloat long enough to get back on their feet.
I absolutely agree, but I wonder if Arrowhead even has the funds for that? I mean, Sony is a billion dollar company. I doubt they would wanna give up their top money maker, especially after the whole Concord fuckup.
Just got lvl 133, over 600 hours of playing, I'll never turn the game on again if they mandate this nonsense "It's for your safety" Sony tryna roleplay as the SEAF
They never said they wouldnt not require it. It was you hype drinkers who lied about what sony and AH said. Congrats, you played yourselves. Now go cry till you play yourselves again.
This has never been a "safety" issue for Sony. It's always been a numbers issue - Sony has seen the absolutely gargantuan market that Steam has, and wants their fingers in the pie. Sony's track record with "safety" has, at best, been tepid, and at worst been straight up GARBAGE with major data breaches at least once a year, sometimes more.
That community dev that lost his job, Spitz, is an absolute idiot. You shouldn't defend that guy. He was saying he was "Owning the chuds" by telling them they were too stupid to take 2 minutes to make a PSN account. We got screenshots to prove it. You lose credibility when you say stuff like that.
Didn't he walk that back and actually state that he wasn't aware that he didn't know not all people and/or countries could make these accounts. It might just be corporate PR wrangling, but still.
He walked that back and apologized for the ignorance. He also got fired for speaking out in favor of the protest. Wrong as his initial statement and actions were, he did realize and switch sides costing his job. He righted the wrong. You refuse to acknowledge that. Worrying about losing credibility to you is not something I'd care that much over.
@@negan2714 i personally refuse to believe that Spitz's walkback and apology is genuine, because "owning the chuds" has been his modus operandi for the whole time he was a manager. People had legit concerns about the state of the game, servers and some weapons being straight up useless, and instead of addressing concerns or directing them to a proper channel, he timed people out, banned people, and was just genuinely THE worst case of a power-tripping mod i've ever witnessed. more than that, it took him something like 6 hours to figure out why community was on fire(the very same community he was supposed to manage). Legitimately the only good community manager at the time was Twinbeard, and i was feeling for the guy that day, because he got saddled with managing a dumpsterfire with a team of dipshits for the entire weekend
Sony would NEVER allow it. The reason they have so many exclusive smaller studios is because they literally threaten them with not allowing the product to be sold on sony consoles unless they agree to be exclusive. I won't be reinstalling Helldivers 2 on steam until the region lock is lifted. Arrowhead have received my money. If I never play the game again on Steam, so be it. The Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster literally has a log in welcome page worded in such a way that you can skip the psn login on pc but only has login and quit game options even telling you that linking grants you bonus items. After you log in, there is an option to un-link psn on the main menu! This tells me Sony literally forced psn use on the devs.

Yeah but with nintendo it has always been their own bubble. They occasionally get stuff from other platforms and usually play nice but 99.9% of their sphere is wholly contained. So sure they can be rather severe sometimes but its all nintendo only anyway so it doesnt much affect the end user. Additionally, nintendo still makes actually good games with players put first (mostly). Sony is not only sticking their fingers into other people's pies but act entitled as hell about it while also trying to take a very thinky veiled moral high ground
Nintendo accumulated enough good exclusives and has funky gimmicks where its in its own bubble of audience. And they are super Japanese so will abuse the law alot.

They dont care and they never will and even if we manage to get them to fuck off again they'll just try again in a few months when the drama has died down. Their going to keep doing this until they get what they want
You'd think as a company and businessmen they would want MORE money.. how can they do these things and keep doing the same dumb sh- over and over again..? Are they braindead or what..? I am so confused what the heck is going on inside their heads
hey, As an old Sony fanboy, I know Sony has been hacked like 2-4 times in the last 14 years and I even has to change my card information several times, because our card information was exposed. I refuse to give sony any of my pc information with their spyware. If you want me to play on playstation, then keep your games on Playstation. I am tired of being hacked.
I also blacklisted Sony on Steam so none of their games will come up in my recommended list. They got me for the $60 Super Citizen bundle, that's all they'll ever get out of me again.
I don't get how hard it is to just make the PSN requirement optional, but provide some sort of incentive for signing up. I know they're trying to juice the numbers because it looks good to investors, but I'd think getting a crapload of extra sales would look better. Why lock so many countries out of spending money on your product?
Wow, Sony is walking away from a huge sector. What they fail to realize is that PC Gamers will never switch to PS or PSN. Them thinking they have command in this market is absurd.
If they require the PSN again I am uninstalling and asking for refund. Review bomb will be the least I do. I hope all Sony games get delisted if they keep this up.
The protection of players safety is not SONY’s responsibility as a whole. If we give them our data through PSN accounts then they are required to keep that data safe and secure, but if we decide not to use their protection, then it is our responsibility to protect what is ours, whether it be in their games or not. They simply cannot decide to control that if players refuse. They are not our parents here.
I'm surprised they haven't forced their mirrorless camera users to link their PSN accounts yet or threaten to disable their camera if photographers don't.
You never were. That was a lie pushed by the hype drinkers in this community. This groups needs to do better about prioritizing meaningful change over pushing hype of fake features and content.
Sadly, we never were going to get it. Not after we gave up the second we got a corporate apology. Our chance to make a change was in May and this community demonstrated that they prefer emotions and hype over actual action and consequences.

@@negan2714 i personally refuse to believe that Spitz's walkback and apology is genuine, because "owning the chuds" has been his modus operandi for the whole time he was a manager. "Unsafe" is just a way for them to say "control".
How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?!!!!
We dive together.
Or not at all.
Nah.. I'd Dive 👊
@@MaelStooorm We dive united or die divided brother but hey, it's your funeral.
@@Dillon1099 that's right brother, there are more deeds to be done for the emperor instead.
Where was this chant for the past 5+ months? It’s funny how it only matters now that the mask is removed once more, because after the first boycott everyone celebrated and promptly forgot about that slogan, despite the fact that there were still a whole bunch of us who still couldn’t dive. 🤔
Funny how releasing their games on pc is (almost) free money but it's still not enough.
Helldivers 2 showed me that I should get comfortable not owning Playstation games on PC.
This is why we can’t have nice things… Review Bomb 2.0 inbound
Review 3.0 actually because the nerfdiver part
prepare your 500kg review bomb brother
Should never cease in the first place.
My negative review is right where I left it back in May. Y’all should have done the same, because now it just looks even more pathetic when what’s left of the community does the same thing a second time after realizing they were played like chumps the first time.
Sony is really just the automatons trying to lower our numbers…all this drama is all meant for lore, trust🗣️🔥🔥🔥
I love how they say if we want to use their servers.....ughhh sir? that's why we BUY the game, we pay MONEY
This isn’t because of safety, Sony is doing so bad they need to boost their players database by any means necessary. They really think people are that invested in helldivers will take this. But we are talking about a fandom that can rally people around and get shit done. The only way to show corpos they are NOT in control is by simply spreading awareness about Sony and making people NOT play helldivers until the CEO sucks his pride up and does something good for once
Every goddamn time I reinstall Helldivers 2 they pull some new bullshit that forces me to uninstall again. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory again and again and again...
SONY is getting allergic to money again
I will not make a extra account for Sony. I love helldivers, but I can live without it. And for their other games.... The SEAS are a place to SAIL, so grab that old dusty hat....
Pirating in the current times is morally correct.
sony just doesn't get it, or they do, but they don't care. Probably the latter
You know, the thing Sony isn't understanding about us pc gamers, is that we don't bow down to this shit and we have more convenient options. If a singleplayer game like this requires PSN linking, then someone will crack the game, remove that part and the rest of us will pirate it.
Sony is just allergic to money.
Sony Japan are pretty well known for being extremely stubborn. In this case their stubbornness is hurting the customers.
I refuse. Sony can be as stubborn as they want, but I can guarantee you, I am more stubborn. I have spent years ignoring Sony and Playstation games, I can spend more years ignoring them just like I did prior.
You go girl
@@funkDr1 hell ya sister with a mister.
Players can stay stubborn longer than they can stay fiscally solvent.
@@Sorain1 Too true. I can happily save my money until they figure out PC playerbase doesn't want to sign up for their psn accounts. xD I'm good, I'll pass on all that.
@@AliasEnigmatic Sony seems to bring out your inner diva but seriously whats your reason for willingly ignoring the brand for years?
Sony acts like rabid lunatics. And expects to get away with it. Because Nintendo acts like rabid lunatics. And DOES to get away with it.
Why can’t they just let people be and enjoy the game without being greedy bro like dang
If it was optional then I don't have an issue but twhen they make it mandatory and block 180 countries from buying the game is just Genius.
Open the helldivers: war with bugs and bots
Close the helldivers: war with sony and sometimes with developers
A lot of the biggest companies in gaming have gone to shit
Is it just me, or do the numbers of copies sold and peak players are a little bit sus?!
Not really because it didn’t get popular till almost a month after release
@@Robertthachickenwrangler It was plenty popular on release; The issue was the servers couldn't handle the vast number of players for nearly 2 weeks.
Peak players is only the steam numbers. The total sales is based on PS AND steam.
Peak players is also the amount of people playing at the same time, I see a lot of people thinking that its meant as the amount of people who played the game period
@@alphaxbox3728 Well or either Buzz made the mistake of talking about steam only with those numbers, or he is right...
The answer is simple....show Sony how unprotected they are over and over and over again, until they finally unserstand.
Hackers have been doing this for years and still nothing
Trying to get sony to understand anything is like trying to teach worm what its reflection looks like, it dosent work.
I haven't bought any Sony game since the HD2 debacle.
Same. Keep it up!
I also blacklisted Sony on Steam so none of their games will come up in my recommended list. They got me for the $60 Super Citizen bundle, that's all they'll ever get out of me again.
@@panachevitz good idea, thanks! yeah I'm going to do that too. I forgot you could blacklist specific devs/publishers - lol
How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!
I have a PSN account and I will never f****** link it to my Steam account screw you PlayStation
I am never buying anything that Sony makes ever again.
cry about it
@@gamerbeast3616 No, my dude. I think you will. Can't have your favorite corporation not making every penny, now can you?
@@BIGESTblade he a sony ponies and they are the reason why sooo many country are blocked lol let laugh at him
@@RX-782Gundam I am aware.
You see, they want to CONTROLL their games by making a SAFE environment for everyone playing. Something sounds sketchy, don't look at me.
Literally any real gamer could have told them concord was a dumpster fire.
we fight for freedom IRL or virtual
That last tin foil hat theory IS outlandish and yet I can so very easily see Sony trying something that harebrained
Never underestimate corporate greed and the stupid decisions they make when trying to earn more money.
@roli1227 Agreed. As I say, probably not, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled some horse piss like that either.
“How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, OLD MAN?!”
I'm surprised they haven't forced their mirrorless camera users to link their PSN accounts yet or threaten to disable their camera if photographers don't.
So I guess we’re not getting the cape
You never were. That was a lie pushed by the hype drinkers in this community. This groups needs to do better about prioritizing meaningful change over pushing hype of fake features and content.
Sadly, we never were going to get it. Not after we gave up the second we got a corporate apology. Our chance to make a change was in May and this community demonstrated that they prefer emotions and hype over actual action and consequences.
