I love Snow's mindgames here. He could've very well went for carriers as he actually finished +2 air weapons. But he faked Royal out with the Fleet Beacon and spinning CyCore, which was seen with a scan, and caused Royal to overcommit on gols. That's what decided the game because those gols weakened the tank/vulture comp.
@@Dziaji kinda, but, assuming he did actually go into carriers, there was a possibility and window where RoyaL could have taken the game. the fake-out (and falling for it) ensured that window never appeared.
I can't tell if I want to agree with you because both these players are so good at micro or because this game actually did look that smooth. Either way, RT I think if your testing doesn't cost you a ton more time or delays with vids then I say go for the "better" quality. This game was definitely enjoyable and smooth but I honestly didn't notice it in the past couple vids you mentioned having up the quality.
I've been watching Ur casts in 1080p on the same monitor for 2-3yrs now. Video quality is good, maybe feels a tiny bit sharper now, but not major change imho. The way it is in this video is VERY good in my mind. It's such a pleasure to listen to Ur calm commentary (180 from when Ur playing ;p).
I immediately noticed the video looked better, more appealing, sharper, and as I was wondering to myself if it was just my imagination, you mentioned that you were trying to improve the quality and asked for feedback. It looks appreciably better like this, and that does make me more likely to keep watching and click in the first place from my feed. As a casual viewer that only played sc2 and got into sc remastered through the GSL->ASL youtube recommendations, I had this thought before you mentioned the quality change: "y'know, the remastered graphics really aren't that bad or different compared to the sc2 graphics" and cant remember ever thinking that before. Cant imagine these new settings are much diff from ASL english vods so maybe coincidental.
I checked some footage from this vs similar footage from a week ago with same quality settings. Really looked carefully at some probes mining. They looked the same to me, both are good.
Love your cast mate. I got 2 minor recommendations for improvement. 1. Make the selected unit UI smaller. So you can see more of the screen. 2. I assume you use your arrow keys for moving the camera around. It's too fast. It makes the experience as a viewer too hectic. slower movement is more pleasant You can tell the difference, regarding the quality. It seems a lot smoother and clean. Good job
I keep forgetting that EMP wipes out Protoss shields. Why don’t we see that used more often? I get it’s probably more useful against a high Templar but I never see it used against a big group of goons like at 18:53
the quality definitely looks better on my tv when viewed in HD. I don't know if I would notice on my phone but older videos even look slightly blurry after watching this one.
Thank you for your great casting! Qualitywise I cant really tell the difference, but im always watching on my phone, so maybe subtle changes are harder to spot there (or im just not seeing it)...
Went and rewatched some old casts to see if there's any noticeable difference. I think the colors are a little sharper on my phone but not on the iPad.
Save 100 minerals on a bunker. Lose 200 minerals on lost marines and vultures trying to micro against goons.... How many IQ points do I need to understand that?
Snow lost 2 goons and another one alive in 1hp, I’ve seen that in the past with good results for terran. Without a decent count of goons in early, the terran can put mines everywhere easily. The underlying idea is to delay the reaver i think
Went to look at older videos, and it does feel like the resolution on the new videos is higher even though my settings are the same. But I watch on my phone, so the difference is very small
no opinion on picture quality but can you please change unit colors to red /green when someone is brown on a desert tileset? Very hard to see what protoss is doing on the minimap
It's a placebo effect to ask us if it's better. We're supposed to notice and comment unprovoked. It's like asking "How are my new shoes" = leading question with expectation of "Yes/Great". Don't notice anything better looks and sounds quality so at least hasn't gotten worse.
I took screenshots and zoomed in and the pixels are slightly better now. It's only a marginal difference for me, but on some setups it will probably be quite noticeable.
Its hard to tell but once I set it on my tv at full HD it does make a difference! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the constant effort and passion you put in your craft RT I trully appreciate it. Much love from Costa Rica!
It's odd hearing you talk about upping the quality, cus I've never thought it looked flawed and checking back on it now it still looks immaculate. Not sure how you're supposed to improve on it. 1920x1080 resolution, 1080p60 setting.
An individual's TH-cam settings are going to affect the video quality they see, such as Quality: Auto. That is the reason I haven't seen a difference. My internet speed limits me to 720p60, though I see that 1020p60 is available.
I think I can barely see some smoother colours but other than that, everything looks the same to me. EDIT: Maybe in Stormgate and Zerospace the difference could be noticeable, Brood war just looks in a very specific way and its hard to see it different.
Snow's shuttle/reaver micro is so good that it usually allows him a big leg up early on, which he uses to absolutely maximize his economy. And after that he can afford to be sloppy and just throw units at the enemy until they die.
Two things to say here. First, Snow is ridiculous lol. That shuttle use 🤯. Second, it’s these games that show you the skill level of ASL champs. Royal is royalty. Thanks as always for casting. Video quality was great
Snow had a shuttle with a high templar in it top left half the match. He could have stormed Royal's third with ease at any moment. I was waiting for it all game.
Hello BossMan Artossis. I feel like it is more colorful. Also I notice a difference in the frame rate, but i'm not sure if it is slower of higher, just different.
I don't see a quality difference and I don't think there's really a need for an improvement. I'm watching on a 2560x1440 monitor (1440p) and the max resolution on the video is 1080p so for me maybe there's some possible quality boost left on the table, but probably it's not going to improve much. People who still watch Brood War probably don't care much about graphics
new maps obviously...very nice to see new maps (i mean desert terrain wasnt featured in the olden days).I hope the pros find some fun in facing each other in new never before seen maps
Arty, I play remastered on a 1080p HD monitor and I honestly can't tell the difference, meaning it must be (close to) native settings/quality. Are you perhaps playing with the crf settings and/or encoder presets when exporting video? Because if so it all boils down to a sweet spot of quality and file size balance (I don't know about compatibility as TH-cam reencodes to their own codecs anyway)
Hard to tell but it does appear smoother and less jittery, but a lot of the unit movement animations are kind of jittery (lookin at you probes), so it's hard to tell without a side by side comparison
Frame rate is good, but I don't really see any change. I'd love to see the final Score result at the end and, if possible, maybe go back to the key event that changed the tie of the game and analyze why!
I watch this on a older 1080P TV, and I see no difference, I tried watching an older video and can't see the difference. But it might just be that my setup is older.
Ive been binging your videos and idk if this is the right one but you sometimes say matrix(es?) the plural is matrices. would sound fancy if you said that.
emp doesnt really help with the carriers, because most of the hp is in the base hull, and carriers are fast and evasive enough that the shields can regen over time, you will also probably lose the vessel when you try to do that that doesnt mean its not a good idea but the amount of times when its effective are rare, because you usually dont have a chance to fight carriers head-on
Kinda wish Royal had attacked up north instead of sending reinforcements south when attacking. Don't know if that would have been a better play though... Anyways, great game ! Thanks, Artosis.
Bro what bothers me often is the giant logo in the bottom right. Maybe ask the fans if it bothers them too. It could at least be opaque. I feel like u could shrink it and make it see through.
Ill give u my opinion as someone who doesnt know about video editing. The newer videos seem more smooth imo, if i would have to guess what did u change id be between a better frame rate, colors looking more neat like i can the borders of the units and structures, it would be a weird expample but in this video its like i can see the full motion of the legs of the dragoon lol. I put this video and one from 3 weeks back side to side in a 27" 2k 144hz monitor (just to give some context) and thats what it feels like going from one video to the other. Hope my uneducated opinion helps in some way. KEEP GOONIN
"Using two workers at once - he's almost a Terran player" Had me laughing XD
Snow dropping the reaver directly on a mine 3 times in a row with no DMG, so good
Resisting is hopeless!
It's pretty fun and satisfying to do, and just as satisfying to watch
I love Snow's mindgames here. He could've very well went for carriers as he actually finished +2 air weapons. But he faked Royal out with the Fleet Beacon and spinning CyCore, which was seen with a scan, and caused Royal to overcommit on gols. It was already way over before that
@@Dziaji kinda, but, assuming he did actually go into carriers, there was a possibility and window where RoyaL could have taken the game. the fake-out (and falling for it) ensured that window never appeared.

The higher framerate makes the micro from the players look a lot nicer, and the colour is nicer too.

I can definitely notice the higher quality on my tv
These were my guesses, not comparing them directly but just based on overall impression.

Didn't notice the quality till i went fullscreen, looks great

I watch this on a 75" tv with my morning coffee. Before you even said anything, I noticed the picture seemed more vibrant and HD. Nicesuuu Artosisuuu
its a massive improvement as casted to my living room tv. about the same in my phone
Yeah it's gonna depend on the display that's being used by the viewer

The biggest upgrade you can do Artosis is to get a higher resolution monitor. 1440p is a major upgrade over 1080p!
I keep forgetting that EMP wipes out Protoss shields. Why don’t we see that used more often? I get it’s probably more useful against a high Templar but I never see it used against a big group of goons like at 18:53
the radius on emp is quite small and vultures already deal a ton of damage to shields so it doesnt do that much to emp them
This game was a treat. Thanks for casting.
the quality definitely looks better on my tv when viewed in HD. I don't know if I would notice on my phone but older videos even look slightly blurry after watching this one.
Definitely a lot sharper! Even before you mentioned it I thought the pixel resolution in the mineral field was really good.
Thank you for your great casting! Qualitywise I cant really tell the difference, but im always watching on my phone, so maybe subtle changes are harder to spot there (or im just not seeing it)...

Yeah, the idea was to bait the dragoons to trade. And there were 2 dragoons lost. So that later on there will be less of a critical mass of them.
Snow lost 2 goons and another one alive in 1hp, I’ve seen that in the past with good results for terran. Without a decent count of goons in early, the terran can put mines everywhere easily. The underlying idea is to delay the reaver i think

Colourblindness sucks 😢
I love all this stuff. Keep it coming Artosis!
To me… the quality looks exactly the same as previous videos. Thanks for uploading these I enjoy the commentary.
7:48 casually avoiding 3 mine hits with the reaver. Mindblowing
The video color looks more vibrant and the smaller model details look sharper on mobile. Unit movements look a bit smoother too.

Im still thinking skipping the bunker here didn't really end in a net positive. He had to make 6/7 marines anyways right?
I think I can barely see some smoother colours but other than that, everything looks the same to me. EDIT: Maybe in Stormgate and Zerospace the difference could be noticeable, Brood war just looks in a very specific way and its hard to see it different.

Wow it's so much smoother!
I can tell a difference on the TV and the big monitor (it looks nicer / clearer). On phone / laptop I don't notice much.
Wouldnt a map with only 4 blocks of minerals at the starting location be interesting because it would create micro battles?
Arty, I play remastered on a 1080p HD monitor and I honestly can't tell the difference, meaning it must be (close to) native settings/quality. Question,
If protoss was to go mass carrier why would the terran NOT go atleast 1-2 vessels and EMP them? Is it that its to expensive? Thanks Artosis
