I can't help but feel if Flash kept his wraith alive and went up to 3 total he could've bonked the shuttle defense. Perhaps utilizing more wraiths in small numbers to counter shuttles is going to be something Terran need to work on?

@@Okiwano there was a pro game a while ago where the terran made wraiths to counter carriers and the protoss made corsairs then the terran made valkyries haha, that was a crazy game
True that, wraiths can protect a push from an annoying shuttle. And they move in and out fast so they won't be exposed to dragoon fire too much. Once the starport is done, getting 2 more wraiths is like just 200 extra gas.
I've heard Arty say before that what you've suggested is the strat Light developed to counter Snow's reaver micro whittling his army down as it pushes.

hey, if you are microing the fight at the right time, and you think ahead about possibilities, and you're ready to do it in advance -- you can do some sick micro plays like this sometimes. it's not the hardest thing in the world to do that, its just hard to do it consistently, or keep up with macro at the same time lol

I dont understand why they dont keep the wraith alive, build more and even research cloak. Snow is using reaver shuttle the entire game, the value of those wraiths would only increase
the idea isn't totally without merit, but, just having a couple of Dragoons around really shuts down wraith play -- they are made out of paper and only ticklebeam ground units. of course toss can just get 1 obs and place it nearby if you spend the money on cloak and research a whole piece of tech for 3 units.
@@theSato They dont need to be used aggressively. First of, just keeping one wraith alive shuts down all shuttle reaver harassment play, which is very high value. Having more also helps deal with shuttles on the terran push. With cloak even more so. About observers countering cloak, well wraiths with scan counter observers. So it goes both ways. And the more observers you kill, the more you tax the robotics bay. Snows entire strategy revolves around robotics units, shuttles and racers, so he cannot have lots of observers. The more you kill observers the more he has to delay the shuttle reaver or play without observers, so both are super worth it. I think against this style, more wraiths even with cloak is probably very strong but pros just are not used to playin wraiths.
Arty was right about Terran being massively disadvantaged as soon as the slightest error is made and this game is a good example of that. @13:45 ,moving one extra tank up or @16:47 only moving the entire army. Either move, if done correctly would have killed that Nexus and Terran would have been way ahead where Protoss would not have any money left to start/saturate the 5th base. I can imagine SNOW's evil laugh when scarab damage upgrade started...

he's definitely beatable (especially in the other matchups aside from TvP), but there is no doubt that his TvP is very strong -- his reaver shenanigans are really difficult to play against as Terran.
i think this build from flash was somethign he decided to do because of the low amount of gateways he saw in snows base, really cool to see the wraith usage to counter the shuttle
Feels like having a small group of wraiths 3-4 just to snipe shuttles and reavers while keeping them away from dragoons after shuttles are destroyed is what flash needs to have some mobility with defense.

maybe, but Protoss doesn't have to do additional investment to counter your wraith -- it only takes a couple of goons to shoo away your paper planes.

agreed, i think 2 wraiths with cloak could be deadly.
Wraiths are super underutilized imo, its a great unit. Build a couple and go raid a mineral line like its SC2.
