    One of the best trades/DIY/construction vids on TH-cam, and I've watched 1,000's of hours of this sort of content.
    Brilliant, hilarious bunch of lads (biased as a fellow Welshman just 20 miles up the road in Tredegar), but absolutely masterclass in tradesmanship; experience, knowledge, skill, etc. And all explained wonderfully. Giving me all the confidence to make my own in a few weeks.
    Justin, a question if you don't mind, but how do you rate porcelain compared to sandstone? A friend of mine said sandstone is very hard to lay because of the rivens, but you can get calibrated which is smoother, but he would still go porcelain as it's easier to lay as a beginner and much cheaper than sandstone. Do you agree with any of this?

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Marus really appreciate you saying that 👍
      As for you question.
      Porcelain is the hardest to lay and requires a high skill set both laying and cutting it .
      The riven sandstone the one with the uneven surface you just lay it to all the highest parts on the level its very forgiving not like porcelain so easier to lay.
      Then you have honed sandstone totally flat like porcelain but still easier to lay and cut than porcelain.
      Porcelain in my opinion is the hardest one to install and same can be said about grouting it.
      Hope that helps you Marcus appreciate your comments 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👍🙌👌

      Haha I was thinking the finish looks more luxurious in this vid at the end than plain old sandstone, even though a sandstone patio is beautiful to look at.

      As long as the concrete has no cracks in it and its a good solid crack free area then yes .slurry or sbr the concrete then add mortar as usual.

      Rubi dx 250 plus cuts up to 1200mm i think.
      Rubi have replaced it with a new saw updated now.on the plus side no dust perfectly straight lines no bending. Minus the legs on this saw aint great although rubi have now updated that and its a big bit of kit quite heavy to move around.
      Id definitely buy there new version and i have to say rubi have an excellent site support team for repair and maintenance it truly is brilliant.
      So overall its been a great bit of kit for us and the new one is much improved so id look at that one .if you want a factory cut on long porcelain its great to have it in the tool box .

      What i can tell you is it aint enough. The market is there for porcelain but it takes a lot of time to install especially all them cuts and breakages. Each one i do i think i haven't charged enough but here in wales there is a ceiling on price .ive spoken to others that feel the same its expensive but i feel people are unknowingly having a bit of a bargain with it really not sure what others think in other areas of the uk be interested to know actually mark 👍

I bought a rubi dcx 1250, rubi core cutters and ecd blades that don’t last that long , all to make the job less stressful. I don’t normally make much on porcelain patios and here in Kent we have a lot of clay so I normally hire a digger so you have to charge around £200;a square metre at least and hope for no additional costs.
