    On this channel we test and review ebikes and accessories. Its our goal to help you find the perfect ebike. When we review an electric bike, we don't simply ride it once and make a video, we ride it for 50-100 miles to get familiar with all it has to offer, then we make a video. But we don't stop there, we will make follow up videos as we continue to ride.

    I purchased two of these for me and my GF.
    1 - The shipping damage issue is real, but only affected the fenders. Both were easily bent back into shape.
    2 - We did have a motor fail on one of them and it was indeed a hassle, but the bike repair shop came to my house and did the repairs in my garage. Lectric reimbursed the cost within a week. Hard to complain about that.
    3 - We feel that the trike goes plenty fast.
    4 - I agree that one speed isn't ideal - I do wish it had 1 or 2 more gears. A 3-speed internal hub would be a dream. We specifically didn't want a derailer.
    5 - Other than the initial motor fail on one of the two we have, we've had no issues.
    I actually highly recommend this trike... my GF and I love them and use them frequently.

    I feel that shipping damage to the XP trike is a reflection of poor shipping service, not Lectric's responsibility when the goods get damaged during shipping.
    Shipping company workers should take pride in their work, make effort to ensure that shipments arrive without damage, take responsibility for shipping damage.
    But since we have monopoly between shipping companies that can handle the volume of shipments, responsibility of shipping damages are often blamed on manufacturers, since the shipping company has complicated and frustrating damage claim process that involve hours of being on hold while on the phone.
    Overall, I think the shipping damage has much to do with the quality of workers in the shipping business, not reflection of Lectric as a manufacturer of ebikes or etrikes.

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Yes, of course the shipping company has a lot to do with it. But it starts at the factory. You can't put something in a box without it being properly packaged and then just blame the shipper when it gets broken. The box could have been thicker, and there should be better padding between the fenders and wall of the box. You have to expect somewhere from the factory, to the truck, to the warehouse, to the truck, to the boat, to the truck, to the warehouse to the the truck to probably several more trucks, before it reaches your door, that the box is going to be shaken, bumped, tossed and maybe even dropped.

    • @MoJoRid3r
      @MoJoRid3r 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Yeah, my Lectric Trike box looked like Fed Ex played forklift soccer with it. I ordered a BeCoolBikes fat tire electric about a year ago. I watched the fed ex guy pull it off the truck and just let it crash to the ground. the box had a huge hole in it from prior mistreatment and was a mess. I told the driver I wasn't accepting it and he said I had to. I fought with him about it and he finally put it back on the truck. Then I had to fight with BeCoolBikes for about a month to get my money back. They tried to charge me addition money for refusing it and was going to ship the same bike in the same box back to me and make me pay shipping 3 ways. Needless to say, I don't and never will have a BeCool Bike. If it wasn't for that experience, I would have refused this one.

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      WOW. A lot of the boxes I get are damaged, some more than others. Its usally the box carton that broke open but the bikes have been fine because they were packaged well. Not so for the XP Trike. @@MoJoRid3r

    I have had 6 E-Bikes and your video addresses problems that you would have with any bike, electric or not. Most problems are because of shipping. I have had problems with shipping damage every time the issue was addressed and covered. I feel that the Lectric XP Trike is manufactured and marketed for SENIORS and disabled folks who would not otherwise be able to ride. I do not have one, but I have recommended it to others who have purchased them and now have a great time exercising with them. For the price what else can you purchase?

  • @jackwood922
    @jackwood922 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

    I just received mine yesterday and they must have improved the packing. The shipping box was damaged on every side - FEDex... but everything was fully protected. I don't disagree with any of your points especially when you explain others my have different needs. For example mine will do 14 easily but I live in Virginia with hills. I got up to 28 yesterday and there's no way I would want this trike to go that fast...felt like Chuck Yeager. 14 is fine for an on road trike. I would bet the problems you've encountered are not unique to lectric trikes. Unless you buy a bike at local shop you are going to have to fix issues. I'm 70 and had I seen your video before buying this trike I would have certainly steered clear. I think many will and thats a shame because this is a budget mobility trike that is designed for a specific purpose ... low speed flat riding. Again I feel like you were balance in most places but forgot it was $1499 not $ 2599. Still for a $1000 you're not going to fix ups or FedEx. Thanks for sharing your honest review.

    I am one that has received a damaged xp trike due to shipping, i also received my 1st electric bike from another company that was damaged as well but on that one the computer was defective , fortunately for me and to your point , i am mechanically inclined which saved a lot of time however i will admit that in both cases i sure wasn’t happy, although that all the problems were resolved on both bike and trike communicating with both companies was the hardest because they are small companies and are under staffed, i waited a total of 6 hours to get someone on the phone . Both bikes are running well now but as you are saying it is not for everyone to be able to fix them by themselves, i lost 1 month of usage with each bike and i fixed them myself, i just can imagine how much longer it could have been otherwise. Lectric replaced our damaged trike which was great but i told my spouse if the 2nd trike arrives damage to the point where i need to fix it, i will charge for my time, fortunately or luckily, the 2nd trike was very good. Lectric indeed need to address their shipping box.
    I enjoy your videos a lot because you say it as it is, which is great to us all viewers , keep on doing the nice documentaries 😊😎

    Well, I can get 20 mph. Here's how! Go to settings and change P06 tire size from 20 to 10 inches diameter. This tricks the computer to make the top speed greater. Smaller tire size makes the ebike go faster. You do not change the physical tire. Wow! easy!

    Where did you source your information that "100s and 100s of other people" have had the shipping damage type you encountered? I would like to find legitimate forums (not being run by folks trying to undermine other manufacturers) that contain this type of credible information. While I have found some complaints I haven't found 100s. I also feel I have to note that the majority of your issues are actually the pre-disclosed specifications of the bike (single gear speed, 14mph max, etc). So, I understand your angst, but I also know that the quality of trike you are mostly comparing to are $3K+ trikes. So I have to wonder why, if you wanted a trike that had multiple gears, high end parts, and a high top speed, why did you buy this trike?

    I’ve had mine since late July and I’ve had no problems and no need for repairs. I’ve fallen off a few times but that’s on me.
    Richard does a good job in his reviews and does a great service to all of us in the electric bike community so I don’t mean this as a criticism but I think that he actually broke the brakes himself: first by not cleaning the disc brake (the manufacture advises it in several places) and secondly by squeezing the hand brake too vigorously when it wasn’t sufficiently responsive.
    As I’ve said, I’ve had no problems, major or minor since this past summer…
    And thanks to Richard for his insights and expertise…

  • @john-brady
    @john-brady 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I love mine. Wouldn’t get rid of it for the world. Most trikes out there require some assembly but this trike ships fully assembled. Not being mechanically inclined that was one of the reasons I purchased one. My fenders arrived bent inward and there is a dent in one of them. I appreciate the low cost point on the trike but would pay a bit more for better shipping. The way that they are doing it now must cost them a fortune in returns and repairs.
    You are correct about the speed and in fact at my weight I can only get it up to thirteen point seven miles per hour. But if I want to go 28 miles per hour I simply ride it down one of the may hills in my community. It is correct that you run out of pedal at about eight miles per hour but if you want to pedal find a steep hill (I know there are none in South Florida) put it in one of the lower assist settings and pedal up the hill. And as to the situation with the brakes - mine work just fine. A little noisy at downhill speeds but safe and adequate.
    I always enjoy your reviews Richard keep up the good work…

      I was able to bend mine back into shape to that it looks decent and works. My right one had the light smashed inward so I can't pop that out. I'll replace that one when I get the parts, probably leave the other side as is. Overall we are happy with how the trike functions.

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just see the responses in my videos and go online asking the question and you will get a lot of responses. Everyone that I know that purchased one, came back to me and said yep, it came damaged. So that leaves me to believe, it happens to a lot of people. I do know, there are some people that have commented they received theirs without damage. But, its metal fenders, pushed up against the wall of the box with no padding Any light push on that side of the box could damage them. If they were plastic, they would probably survive. If there was just a couple inches between the fender and the box wall, with just a little padding, they would probably survive.

    Perhaps these companies should give the buyer a choice of using FED EX or a proper shipping company, like the Electric Bike Company uses and their bikes arrive in perfect condition, I am sure most customers would opt for the better shipping in order to avoid all these issues. Especially when your're spending around $2k for a bike.

    Hey Richard glad you called out Lectric for its unacceptable quality control issues. They sent you a defective product making you go through numerous "hoops" to get it fixed. I purchased a Lectric XP 2.0 step thru 3 years ago, handle bars were crooked and the hub motor was LOUD and defective. I had to make videos documenting the loudness, constant emailing back and forth, and finally sent me a new hub motor after 2 months of haggling. But they still insisted the cause was loose bolts, please! It still rode like a tin can, had terrible range and was junk. I gave it away to a friend and purchased a Magicycle Crusier Pro, a huge increase/difference in quality, and have had ZERO problems including shipping. Magicycle sells a foldable ebike the Jaguarundi for $1,299, only $100 difference from the Lectric extended range model well worth the difference. Lectric needs to improve their customer service and quality issues for sure.

    I have the Lectric trike and the only problem I have is with the parking brake triggers. The left one won't catch at all and the right one catches without trouble about half the time. I haven't done anything about it with Lectric because I don't want to fool with replacing the brakes which I'm guessing is what would have to be done. Someone on here said there was a set screw to adjust it, but I haven't found one.

    Update after almost one year of owning two trikes. Still love them and have no issue after initial issue where a motor was repaired on one of them.
    Taken them all over on paved and gravel paths without issues. Tons of fun!
    Only complaint is that I wish it had one or two more gears to avoid ghost pedaling at higher speeds. Battery life is excellent. I was able to get about 27 miles with 33% battery remaining after 14 miles with major steep grades and a heavy rider (~300lbs) on PAS 3.

      @@MoJoRid3r I had basically the same situation happen when I purchased an ebike from another big ebike company. The box was shipped via Fedex and there was significant damage to the rear axle portion of the bike and the box had 2 other areas on it that had major impacts. At this point I decided that if the bike had gone through such trauma to the box, what issues or problems might I see in the future due to this? So I decided to ship the bike back and get a refund. Luckily, the ebike company paid for the return shipping on top of refunding all of my money even though their return policy said they weren't responsible for damage during shipping.. Thank you for sharing your experience here on TH-cam.

    I've had problems too. The right fender was bent during shipping. I was able to straighten it out enough to ride though. Then, after 4 miles, I started hearing a knocking sound from the left wheel. It comes and goes. I recorded the sound, and compared it with someone else's recording, who had the same sound. Theirs had been replaced by Lectric. As it was from the bad bearings issue. I will say that Lectrics customer service is the best I've ever dealt with. Very responsive!

    I put an 1200 watt 52 volt, 19 amp battery Ebikling kit on a Miami Sun trike 2 years ago. Have about 700 miles on it. only thing I would like is 7 spd rather than 5 spd, and a front disk brake. I have about $1500 in the trike. I have no idea how fast it will go, because I won't ride it faster that 15-16 mph. I have been up to 17mph, and it was scary on a trike.

    I was so excited to buy my trike and I did the research and felt this was the one for me. When it got here, I was so upset with the damage bike.. but let’s get realistic look how they packaged it. They did an outstanding job when they package these bikes they cannot control what UPS does. Once it leaves their company I did call electric and tell them about the damage she told me to try to bend it back in place, I tried, but UPS did a number on this thing so she said no problem and sent me a new one. It was here within two weeks and what a lovely surprise she put one of their locks in there as a gift to say thank you for purchasing the bike and being understanding about the damage . Every company that ships with UPS, FedEx, and the United States Postal Service is at their mercy. We cannot take it out on the company. We have to direct our anger at the people responsible.

    I have had 3 Trikes all shipping damage and have pics and video, my 1st Trike major shipping damage, and so much it bent fenders and rims, also bent the axle, LECTRIC wanted it back, 2nd TRIKE came with even more damage on box only bent the rim and both fenders, and scratches and dings because bike fell off shipping block so it moved all over in box, after putting 100+ miles on my 2nd the Trike the rear end started making an awful noise and after sending video after video to LECTRIC technicians made the decision again to recall my 2nd Trike because rear end gears were not meshing and making bad bearing like noise, sent it back, 3rd Trike??? The whole bottom of the box was caved in, I seen my box on the back of the FedEx Truck on its side and another LECTRIC Trike stacked on top of my box and that box had it's arrows up pointed correctly, I have pics of bent fenders and I am sure there will be damage to 1 or more of the rims and possibly a rear axle issue again because of shipping and the weight of another box or more on top of my box on bottom on its side.

Lectric paid for everything except my 8 hrs of trying to repair the having to get a large box to return it. Do you know how hard it it to find a 4’x3’ box and peanuts. $126 bucks later. Just received 2nd one. Same damage, fenders finished, upgraded seat broken. So waiting for fenders and seat. I was able to weld seat so my wife is riding it. But now pas 1 and 2 get u up to 4mph, then pas goes to almost 10, way too fast for her. Too much difference between 2 and 3. Hopefully I can change the settings. The bike is packaged with rear wheels attached and the wheels rest against the walls of the box. The wheels should be off during shipping to reduce damage. Mine arrived with the UP arrows ignored and was left sitting on its side. A wheel and the axle was bent (The axle bent because the bottom of the wheel was pushed in, which creates a lot of leverage on the end of the axle.). After a bit of back and forth I opted to return the bike. Other than the damage, bike was fine, comfortable, and its top speed was fine. For the money, I still call it a good buy, and I was very impressed with responsiveness of the company.

    I received my XP Trike just after Memorial Day. The box was in terrible shape - I figured the trike was going to be destroyed. Yet, it only had minor fender damage. The packaging is actually quite good except under extreme circumstances. I now have almost 1000 miles on the odometer, 1000 TROUBLE FREE miles. I am thrilled with it. Percentage wise, there are probably just a small amount of people receiving a severely damaged shipment. But ultimately one is too any. They do need to get the shipping issue resolved quickly and I am surprised they have not done so already.
    For most people who this trike is marketed to, it is a perfect match in every way. Out of the box for someone who pedals regularly, it is an 8-mph ride. Fast enough for most. Change the crankset and you get a 12-mph ride without ghost pedaling. Seniors and handicapped riders, who probably represent the bulk of individuals buying this trike will probably find these speed options, combined with all the other benefits, more than acceptable. I certainly do. I electronically limit my trike's speed to 12mph (I did upgrade to the 52-tooth crankset). I ride daily for a little over 1 hour. I have mentioned this before in a reply to one of your other XP Trike videos that ALL trikes of this type should not be ridden at high speeds. Going straight they are stable at higher speeds but if the rider makes a sudden sharp turn at high speed, a dangerous situation could arise. Again, this applies to ALL trikes like this. These trikes actually have a top speed of 18mph with the throttle only through a VERY simple hack, but I don't recommend it. Lectric made it really easy to do. BUT it is just too dangerous for most to drive that fast on a trike and it is likely that most riders buying the XP do not even want to ride fast anyway.
    This trike is an exceptional value for what you get.
    Thanks for another great video - keep them coming!!

    • @EbikeReviews

      If you owned many ebikes and trikes you would know that oil on the disk is something no other companies do. There is no need for it and all it does is create a hazard. Its the shippers fault, however when there are so many that are damaged then the company needs to make adjustments if they care about their customers. The rear fenders are against the side of the box with no padding. Boxes get stacked. It takes very little pressure from another box to damage them. Can't point fingers at the shipper all the time.

I have yet to find any bike that does or shouldn't have maintenance done to it. They have moving parts. Damage would be my major concern. Test rode today and you are correct, to slow and can't get pedal resistance at all, just ghosting at over 6 miles per hour, I am really regretting choosing this brand / model etrike. We needed something with a little more speed, 18-20 mph maybe and w/ transmission so we could get in some nice pedal fitness if desired. This is basically a slow mobility scooter/ trike and not a true adult recreational etrike. I think I'll need to sell it local, can't just send these things back for a refund, and look for something that better serves our riding preferences. Bummer!! Just came across this review and wanted to substantiate Richard's claim of shipping damage. I originally did quite a bit of research on eTrikes and eventually settled on Lectric as the make to go with. My first one arrived badly damaged, just as Richard described. Bent rear fenders pinching the wheels so badly that the wheels would not turn. After much back and forth with the factory, in which they wanted me to remove the wheels and video the axle turning, they agreed that the bike was badly damaged. Besides the bent and dented fenders, the axle was bent. So, they agreed to replace the bike. What Richard left out was the incredible hassle of repacking the trike. It took a LONG time. Fast forward several weeks,...the replacement bike arrived. It, too, was badly damaged. This time I told them I wanted to just return the trike and get my money back. I simply didn't trust that another replacement would arrive undamaged.
    Bottom line, I ended up buying a trike from 3Score and I love it. Arrived in one piece, no damage and ready to go. I would recommend 3Score. I would definitely NOT recommend Lectric.

When the replacement came, the rear wheels had come through the box, and Fed Ex tried to push it back in with tape. I wish I was home when it was delivered. I called the company and told them I was sending it back. They wanted me to take it out of the box to see if there was any damage, but I refused. I told them to send me a return label, and I want my money back. They told me no refund and would send a replacement, but I said no. I threatened them with legal action, and they changed their tune. I blame them for shipping because they know the problem and should use someone else besides FedEx.

    As a Trike owner that has had all of the issues, I'm considering buying another one as I think it is just the best design out there! Now, design doesn't necessarily mean quality. My biggest quality gripe are the wheel bearings, which while mine is ridable, still needs to be addressed and not by doing a time consuming exchange with Lectric and likely receiving another one with bent fenders, bent wheel, and bad bearings. So, I got a new wheel from them. They sent a brake kit but it doesn't have the parking brake feature so there is no reason to put it on. At this point they have no field repair procedure for the bearings. I think that they can be removed and I"d try it on my own, but I need to determine what size bearing to obtain. I think the kids at Lectric majored in marketing, some in electronics, and not a one there has any real mechanical experience or else they would be more helpful than telling me that they can't offer any information due to liability reasons. Really!? Like do it yourself brake work doesn't have the potential for greater hazard than wheel bearings?
    I noticed in another video of guy doing a tricycle conversion of his recumbent bicycle, that the conversion kit looked mighty familiar. Well, printed right on our "differential is the name and website address of who makes the entire rear end assembly. So, last Thursday I sent a polite, respectful email to the contact address hoping to get a specification for the bearing or anything else that they could help me (us) with. No answer so far and frankly, I doubt I will get one.
    If anyone is in the bearing business, the best that I can measure is the bearing is 20mm shaft size, outside diameter is 34 or 35mm, and the thickness seems to be 10mm.
    I also contacted Park Tools, who specialize in bicycle tools. They aren't aware of the problem and don't have the specialized bearing puller that may be needed. What is Lectric doing with all these returned tricycles? They can't disassemble one to produce a repair procedure? If I lived in Phoenix, Lectric would be saying, "oh oh, it's him again"!

This is with only neighborhood rides and no speed above 2. total miles on one is 117 and on the other 102. this bearing is not repairable and Lectric e-bikes said to send them back for rapair. We live over a thousand miles away. They refused any help with shop manuals or tech support, just send them back. We have the bikes in our garage if anyone wishes to verify. Sorry. Don and Jenny

      Don and Jenny, I am sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, I have heard from others about bearing issues. Is there a dealer in your area? I would take it to them and make it their problem. Either way they should still be under warranty, I would keep pushing them to send you boxes and a shipping label. If they refuse, try contacting your bank/credit card company and let them know they will not honor the warranty. Sometimes they will help.

    I've been buying online bikes for 20 years now, been riding bikes 56 years and have about 200,000 miles of riding/mechanical/experience. I buy online because I did not have the money for a bike shop bike. When you buy from a shop, you get that expert assembly and checks for safety and adjustments. When you buy online it your responsibility to make these checks, repair and maintenance, that is why these bikes are half to a quarter the price. Truing wheels, adjusting bearing loads, cleaning disc brake rotors, adjusting brakes, headsets, gears, chains.....that the price for buying online. I have never gotten a single new online bike that was not in some need of adjustment or repair. Now comes the Ebike market, all new to manufacturers who never were in the bicycle market, attempting to make Ebikes. They all have problems, they are full or propriety parts that can only be purchased from the original manufacturer, and the design may be flawed. Only the insane would ride a trike over 13mph, and a Ebike over 17mph. bicycles and Ebikes are NOT designed for speed. I raced bicycles professionally in the 1980s, the bikes then and now are the same, extremely weak vehicles, you have to know precisely what they are capable of, and high speed is NOT one. I researched the Ebike market for 7 years before buying one and determined that 70% of the Ebike manufacturers will be out of business in the next five years. All the bikes are designed for short term use only and are all considered disposable. Maybe there is a slightly better-quality level coming from the bicycle makers like Specialized, Trek, Giant, Raleigh, and more all offering Ebikes now, but for 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x the money. I am NOT paying the same price for an Ebike as I would for a good Honda 750 Shadow motorcycle. This market will need to shake out, and dealerships will be needed for service and longtime ownership. But until then, when you buy an Ebike you just invested in the company, and if goes under your bike will be worthless and a trip to the trash can is the only distance it is going to cover.

    I wish I'd seen this before purchasing Lectric XP Trike. Mine was delivered with the entire rear end squished. In no way am I able to repair an unridable $1,700 piece of junk that I bought for transportation. I'm a disabled VN vet with Parkinson's and it's an expensive hassle to get to an e-trike store. I would have been better off getting an unassembled trike and then paying a bike shop to put it together for me. When I first unpacked the trike, both fenders were crushed so bad that the rods as well as both fenders prevented me from rolling it. The dealer told me the fenders were "maleable" and that I could take it to a repair shop and they'd reimburse me for up to $60. This didn't include what it would cost me to take it to the nearest e-trike shop which was nearly an hour and a half from home. After making several phone calls, I was able to speak to a manager who said he'd ship me replacement parts and also offered me a free item of my choosing; a seat with a back rest--bfd. I am unable to drive, my wife has severe back problems, and I was disgusted when what I was told would take me 15 minutes to exchange the parts turned into an all-day project. I don't have a fully stocked tool shop in my assisted living complex. After a kind neighbor helped to put the broken trike back together and I was finally able to take it for my first ride, the back wheels noticeably wobbled. It turned out the axel was bent as well and I'd have to take it to a repair shop that was able to work on e-trikes, but not of the adult trikes would attempt to repair the electric parts. Now, I have a useless piece of expensive junk sitting in my tiny apartment. What it now comes down to is how I'm going to get the trike put together in an affordable way. I guess my wife can always use it as a clothes hanger as she did with the treadmills we bought and were never used. At this point, I'm more sick than angry. I supposed that's good for Lectric who may may have to deal with a crazy ex-Marine. What course of action would you take if you were in my place?

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am very sorry this has happed to you. Its getting very common to hear stories like this and Lectric doesn't seem to care. I thought my axle was bent but it turned out to be the wheels were out of true. If the axle is truly bent, I have been told it can't be fixed and they have to send another trike. Of course they want you to send this one back first. I would raise the rear end, take off the wheels and carefully hit the throttle and watch the axle. Take a short video and send it to them. They should send a new trike, or send new wheels. Another option is to contact your credit card company and let them know what happed, show any email communication you have had and see if they will reverse the charges. Sometimes they will for things like this.

      Thank you. I did as you directed (got the trike up on a jack and vidiotaped the damaged axle) and am now waiting for a box from Lectric in which to return the trike and all the parts they sent me. I'm still going to have to pay for someone to help me re-box the broken trike which will be too bulky to fit through my apartment door--I'm sure management and residents will be less than pleased to have this blocking the hallway; Fed Ex will supposedly come to my home to pick up the re-boxed trike to Lectric who told me that I would be charged a re-stocking free for all the now unnecessary items I purchased for my new trike. If all goes well and I am able to get refund for the trike, but none of what I had to pay out of pocket: more than $300, at least I will be able to chalk this up as a learning experience. Once again, I can't thank you enough for the support you and your site has given to me. @@EbikeReviews

      I'm sorry you have problems. If they sent the entire wheel assembly, its easy. There is one bolt holding it on in the center. You need a hex wrench, I don't know the size at the moment, put something under the trike to hold it up, unscrew the bolt and the whole wheel slides right off. Replace with the new one.

    oh shucks shop repair (?) there are shops about 70+ miles from here. BUT
    my visits to them I was told they only work on what they sell.
    they had 0 trikes and their bikes I have never seen before nor heard of.
    so what a bummer that might be for folks living near Spokane WA.
    I live in the woods and do my own repairs as the saw dealers here are like minded & seldom serve you unless you bought your stihl from them :(
    I know more than a few here that like me will fix things they buy (even new) as they are not to be treated so poorly by such poor stealerships as these. Im not sure if ALL dealerships are like this, but Ive been to 5 in Spokane WA & 3 in north Idaho that have a bad policy about service.
    I may have to go to Montana as in whitefish I was treated well on the phone. :)
    but likely not to get a bike.
    as like saws, cars and other new products are something that often require the owner to fix it themselves. ;(
    [which is sad]
    especially at the cost for a new ebike is so high for what it will be.

    I own one of these trikes and I agree that I would not buy it again. Your conclusions are wrong as to what is causing the severe wheel wobble which I initially had on our trike. It is not shipping damage. That is just a catch all excuse that Lectric uses. The problem is that the Chinese factory has poor quality control in the manufacturing process. Lectric does not own the factory, they are just buying the trikes from the factory. There is no way the axles could be bent without the box being completely destroyed. There is a machining process called "line boring" which should be used when creating pockets for bearings on both ends of a shaft. I am confident the factory is not doing this and I doubt Lectric even knows it. I doubt that lectric has much control over the quality control.
    Another myth that some customers seem to have is that the Trikes are assembled in Phoenix. I live about 150 miles from Phoenix, Arizona and my Trike was shipped to me from New Jersey. I'm pretty sure that Lectric didn't assemble the trike in Phoenix and ship it to me via New Jersey.
    My local bike shop solved the wheel wobble problem. I am convinced that the whole idea of buying direct is a very bad business plan especially for Chinese products. If I wanted another bike or trike I would go through a local bicycle shop.
    Last point; I have an Aventon electric bike that I go 33 MPH on every time I ride it. I'm use to going fast and my opinion is that you have to be crazy to go over 15 MPH on any trike with one wheel in front and 2 wheels in back. The geometry just does not allow it. If you have two wheels in front and one in back the geometry will be improved considerably.
    I am a mechanical engineer and I have machining and manufacturing experience so I'm pretty sure I'm right, but these are just my opinions. Everyone has to make their own decisions.
    Good luck, and support your local bike shop.

    Shipping damage caused by FEDEX.
    The box was literally thrown out the door by FedEx. It landed upside down. Both of the rear fenders dug into the tires and spokes were bent, broken or missing. I took pictures of the damage as best I knew how and sent them to Lectric. They were only going to send 1-fender, I got them to reconsider and send two, here it is 3-months latter.
    Since that time I discovered by riding the trike that because by nature this trike has a very high center of gravity and coming down a steep hill in my development the speed gained was accentuated by a vibration from the right rear wheel. There is a severe wobble in my right rear trike wheel along with portions of the front wheel ride like flat and the left wheel follows along with the right wheel.
    I'm going to try and buy 3-perfect wheels from Lectric at maybe a deep discount if possible. I would not sell the trike as it is to another party.
    This delta trike will tip over if not on a flat surface. Roads commonly have a crown in the center for water drainage. The other night riding, my right wheel went off the road and I started tipping, my right peddle touched the ground as my brakes stopped me from going down.
    I hope to buy a well-designed tadpole trike before Christmas.

      Technically 4 version of one model. The XP 3.0 comes in step over and step through as well as both of those being available with a standard battery or one with more ah which gets them the long range designation. It sounds bad but also consider they reported the problem to the government agency that deals with these things and had to wait for approval to make the official recall announcement. While they waited, they issued notices of steps to avoid or lessen the problem. They also made free hydraulic brake upgrades available to everyone who bought an XP 3.0 including ones sold before the months now covered by the recall. It's a bad situation that shouldn't have happened but I think by requesting the recall voluntarily and jumping through all the hoops involved with that they're handling in the best way possible.
      There is however no excuse for not changing the packaging to better prevent damage. As I was told years ago when I worked in a shipping department, it doesn't matter how many times we mark a box fragile, handle with care, this side up or whatever, it's going to be shipped on its side, its top, thrown, dropped, fall off of a conveyor and who knows what so we have to package the product assuming someone along the line is going to try to destroy it.

I usually buy my electric 3 wheel scooters at Amazon. Chinese made. But when it comes to trikes, forget it. They come from China ENTIRELY disassembled I don't have the knowhow to assemble a trike! Another problem: FRONT WHEEL DRIVE IS TERRIBLE. Lektric has designed a backwheel drive. EXCELLENT i DRIVE AT MAX 14 MILES AN HOUR ON MY SCOOTER. MORE THAN ENOUGH. Why not do a All the great things you Love about the bike but follow up with things that happened and that you noticed once you got it. I have been following e-Bikes for 3 years now and have not heard of hardly any complaints other than the key positioning and the torque not being able to get you up steep inclines.
