    This was a nice complete review. Thank you. After seeing this in the hill test I am giving this more thought for a bike for my son. We live in the mountains and I was afraid this would not make it up the mountain hills, but you showed otherwise.

    LOVE YOUR REVIEW. I JUST GOT MY XP TRIKE AND I’M IN LOVE WITH IT. I AM 220 LBS, 6’. I REVIEWED MANY MANY REVIEWS OF THIS LIL GIANT, AND ALL WERE SO GOOD, I ORDERED MY ON LINE. A FEW LOGISTICAL PROBLEMS HAVE ENSUED; THE ‘FREE UPGRADE TO BACKREST SEAT, BASKETS DID NOT COME, BUT I UNPACKED AND TOOK OFF WITH A GIANT SMILE ON MY FACE. YOU HAVE TAUGHT ME QUITE A FEW THINGS, CONCERNING THE DRIVE MODES, DISTANCE, AND WEIGHT HAULING. I RODE MOTORCYCLYES FROM 12 TO 72, THEN VERTIGO SET IN AND I HAD TO SELL MY SCOOTERS. THEN I SAW THE XP TRIKE. RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE. SINCE I’M 77 YEARS 80% DISABLED US ARMY VETERAN, THIS TRIKE HAS GIVEN ME NEW LIFE. LIKE THE OLD DAYS, GOTTA GIT IN THE WIND WHEN I GIT HOME. TO PREVENT ANY FORM OF GHOST PEDELING, I ALWAYS START OUT IN POWER 3 TO CONTROL THE EXITS I HAVE TO USE TO GET ONTO STREETS. THEN IT’S LEVEL 4. I’M NOT SURE WHY, PROBABLY SOMETHING I DID WRONG, BUT I CAN NOT GET THE CRUISE TO ALWAYS WORK. WHAT LEVEL MUST I BE IN?? I HAVE ADDED TWO ADDITIONAL LED HEADLIGHTS, ELECTRONIC HORN, TURN SIGNALS ON THE REAR BASKET, RED LED LIGHT ON THE BACK REST, ALL RECHARGED SEPARATELY. WHAT IS THE NUTTIEST PART IS I HAVE ONLY CHARGED MY BATTERY ONE TIME. AND I NOW HAVE 20 MILES ON IT. BECAUSE I MUST RIDE THRU AN ALLIGATOR AREA, SERIOUSLY, THERE ARE A MILLION LIL BUGS, SO I HAVE TO INSTALL MY WINDSCREEN TO KEEP THE BUGS OUTTA MA EYES. YOU HAVE EARNED MY SUBSCRIPTION AND LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR GREAT REVIEWS. THERE IS A GREAT CHANCE I WILL PURCHASE A REGULAR XP eBIKE TO HAVE A RIDING PARTNER, AND THEY WON’T HAVE EXCUSE TO GO. LMAO HOOAH, AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!! 👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰

    I was one of the first ones to get the Lectric Trike . It has been trouble free. I use it much on gravel roads and haul firewood, sometimes even pulling a loaded bike trailer, I am 200 pounds. Bike has plenty of power and great battery battery range !

I use this to walk my Labrador retriever with a bike tow leash! FedEx bent my fenders and screwed up a few things. I saw the driver kick the box off the truck into the street. It would be PERFECT if not for FedEx!

    Bought bike and arrived with both rear bumpers jammed against tires. Rims were plastic and split. All three bumpers were replaced. Trike wobbled when used and rims had to be replaced. The axles had to be tested to see if they were bent but checked out ok. Told company right from start that I wanted it the trike replaced or money refunded. They would not do either and instructed me on how to repair bike. This broken bike was now my problem and they have refused to pay to fix it. Ultimate frustration in getting bike so it could be used. Good luck in getting trike that will function out of the box.

    I wish the reviewer, and I've noticed this with almost all Lectric bike reviews, would set the display to show motor current instead of the odometer so we could see just how hard the motor is working in any given situation. When I ride my Lectric bike I always have the display showing me current so I can tell exactly how hard the bike is working.

    Appreciated yor fine review bt all the tech stff seemed of interest to hotshots. I am a senior and won't be climbing hills. I will be riding it over cracked, gapped, uneven, even holy pavement. How wold it do there? Do the rear wheels have a suspensions? If the wront has hydraulics why a sadle post sspension?. The only way to really get to know a bike is to ride it a few weeks,

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The rear wheels do not have a suspension, and the hydraulics we mentioned were the disc brakes - so the Trike does not come standard with any sort of suspension. The optional suspension seatpost should help to smooth out a lot of the bumps you'd feel otherwise though!

    Hi guys. Thanks for the review. We are coming to St. George this winter and I am going to purchase the Lectric XP trike for my wife. Question. We will be living at Sports Village so what do think about riding the local trails for a few miles and then returning to climb the steep hill (Canyon View) going up to Sports Village. Will there be enough battery power?

    I just received mine. I am 5'2 and weigh 145 lbs. We have a lot of hills in our neighborhood. I cannot find in the manual what the tire pressure should be. So far I love my trike, would have loved it more if it was a little more sleek looking. I do feel well balanced on it and so far, no fear of falling.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's close, but more specifically, ghost pedaling means that at a certain speed, it becomes difficult for your pedaling to add anything on top of what the motor is doing. You can pedal faster to try to keep up with it, or just relax and spin the pedals to keep the cadence sensor engaged.

    What a great review. I’ve almost made up my mind. I will use this trike to pull a small trailer with my fishing gear to and from the beach. The hill test shows how strong the bike is on your hills but I won’t have any, but I will have sand and the rear wheel drive will be great for that.

    I got an lectric etrike back in January. Just was able to take it out for the first time (live in MN). Well I had a horrible experience and now my neighbors know how bad it was after telling everyone about it and how excited I was to have it. I don’t know what I was doing wrong but I couldn’t get it to go straight and whenever I tried to turn I felt like I was going to tip over. I was completely shocked at the idea of not being able to learn this since I was an avid biker til my husband took ill and I put off doing it til he passed away. I don’t know anyone who has one so I have no one to ask about what I’m doing wrong. HELP

    What are the advantages of having a “trike” over a standard 2 wheel bike?

    • @whothefoxcares
      @whothefoxcares ปีที่แล้ว +4

      you can drink and not fall down! If you get one flat tire, you can still drink. Two or more flat tires on one ride causes the blues.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Main two areas of appeal are for those with balance issues who might not be as comfortable on a two wheel bike. It also has a lot of utility with the baskets (which, again, are easier to keep gear balanced on 3 wheels vs 2.

    • @cherylsmith2414
      @cherylsmith2414 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @ElectricBikeReport

      The maximum payload capacity for the XP Trike is 415 lbs, so that includes the rider, any cargo on the optional racks, plus the weight of a trailer and any gear included there as well. It's important to stick with this limit so you don't overload the motor.

    Hi thanks great review - mine on it's way. I would love to know how this handles going Down that steep ascent. I am still a bit confused about how to decelerate, or disengage forward momentum - can you simply quit pedaling (like on a nonelectric bike) and coast and start to slow down that way? and then engage brakes slowly? Also, glad to see there are parking brakes. Is there a reverse mode? and one more question regarding carrying bike in auto - I have a honda element with all seats out and this will very happily fit inside easily without even folding. But. I fear it will be too heavy to singlehandedly put in and take out (and plan is to take to my favorite paved nature trail) Thoughts?

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So braking isn't really any different than it is on a bike - there are two brake levers, one for the front, and one for the rear. Unfortunately, there is no reverse mode, but pushing back with your legs on the ground works just fine. When it comes to loading into a vehicle, I recommend a helping hand, as it is fairly heavy and also just a bit large and cumbersome.

    Great review but, as someone who needs a trike because I never learned how to ride a 2-wheeler (long story), I would like a little more info on handling, especially tipping when turning. It's a little hard to believe that trikes would tip.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on speed, the width of the rear wheels, and the center of gravity, but if you take a turn too fast without distributing your weight properly, the outside wheel can lift off the ground. Maneuvering on a trike requires a bit more care, which is why manufacturers like Lectric are placing limitations on speed (and recommending starting off slow).

  • @charleslloyd4253
    @charleslloyd4253 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It is much easier to fold with the rear brakes locked and the handle bars in place. So to steer the front wheel in or out of place. And lever the bike up on one rear wheel and the front. So to push the bike backwards. And not strain your back.

    As a Leukemia survivor with challenges that have had me redefining a "new normal", I've been dearly missing cycling, while I'm trying to "figure it out". Although blessed to have survived an acute and aggressive form of Leukemia, returning to life as before diagnosis, has not been possible. It looks like this might be the solution to my cycling dilemma.
    Does it have a light included or must a front and rear light be bought as accessories? Since a medical issue has currently taken my automobile driving privileges away for the foreseeable future, I'm hoping this will provide me the freedom that I currently don't have. Therefore lights are imperative. Thank you!

    My take is that it’s too heavy. Personally, it doesn’t make sense to make something, that is meant to transport, easy to transport. Just make it as light as possible so the battery can last.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching! There's a balance between weight, durability, weight capacity, and portability. With a lighter frame, the trike would be easier to lift and could get more range, but it would likely have a significantly lower payload capacity and could be more susceptible to damage.

    I have this bike and I regret buying it. I sooo want to love it but I don’t. I am an avid bike rider my bike is my main mode of transportation and I got this so I could have a little boost and go further and replace the trailer I towed behind my bike. However, it doesn’t have gears so no matter how hard you peddle it is almost impossible to go over 11 miles per hour. I normally ride between 14-17 so I can not keep up with my husband. Second, because I’m trying so hard to peddle and go faster, without gears, it’s almost impossible to propel this 80+ lb bike. Every time I ride, the next day, my back is killing me, to the point it’s hard to move around. This is perfect for someone who wants to pretend to be riding a bike with little to no effort but not for anyone who actually wants the exercise of riding a bike with a little bit of a boost every now and then. This is not a peddle assist e-bike I’d say it’s more of a scooter in bike form.

    I purchased The Addmotor Citi e310 Mini. The low ground clearance is a design flaw. The pedals may scrape when crossing a speed bump potentially causing serious foot injury. I informed the managers and their response was raise the seat, or install a smaller crank. And I would bear the cost of the repair to the crank. Of course raising the seat has no effect on the pedal arc.
    They pretend to be concerned with customer satisfaction. They are not and make no effort to address the problem. Their return policy is expensive and prohibitive. They suggested I sell the trike locally. I buy many products from many diverse manufacturers and Addmotor stands out as a greedy, disinterested supplier.
    Go elsewhere, if you have any problems, you own them.
    Anyone want a trike at a discount? Addmotor Citi e310 mini is flawed by design.

    Yes, to be the best, it needs 3 real tires 20 x 4 {fat tires} for better traction. Hydraulic brakes on all 3 wheels. A more powerful motor, so it does not overheat, and with differential. Gas filled suspension fork. A 48 volt battery with higher amperage. Like 30 amps or more to climb hills with ease. then I shall buy me one.

      Trikes are popular with seniors and those with balance challenges or other issues.

    14 mph is not even class 2, why is this not 20 mph top speed at the very least.

    • @ElectricBikeReport
      @ElectricBikeReport  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Trikes are more stable than a bike at low speed, but less stable at high speed. Capping the speed that low is a good idea. Trikes are about enabling mobility for those who have challenges with a bike.

    I wish I didn't have to write this review. These bikes are junk in our view. I bought two of them in July of 2023, by October both bikes have a bad axle bearing on the rear. This is with only neighborhood rides and no speed above 2. total miles on one is 117 and on the other 102. this bearing is not repairable and Lectric e-bikes said to send them back for rapair. We live over a thousand miles away. They refused any help with shop manuals or tech support, just send them back. We have the bikes in our garage if anyone wishes to verify. Sorry. Don and Jenny

      I'm reading your review in March of 2024. Did you ever get resolution to your issue? Were the bites sent back to Lectric?

      Thank you for sharing your experiences with your 2 (!) Lectric e-trikes! Buying online without either personal references or a reliable warranty is not unlike throwing money into the air expecting the wi nd to return it. Sorry for your experiences but you have saved me from having similar.

      Trust me, you are not alone dealing with inferior merchandise, since the closing of the iconic sears craftsman/kenmore stores the quality of most everything in this country is in the toilet. Sadly the voters deserve all they get. Elections have consequences & the worst is yet to come down the pike. DEVIN NEWSOME (the handsome bamboozler) from California will be your very next president, not Trump, definitely not Biden the other bamboozler. When the USA goes digital currency, it’s game over for liberty, no liberty, no freedom, no freedom, no more freewill of the citizen!. THE COUNTRY IS IN DEEP SHIT from which it cannot recover.

    That's deceptive to show a tricked out model and tell people the BASE PRICE

      At the time of writing/filming, the accessories on our test trike were included at no additional charge. Lectric since changed their pricing, which is why we try to include ballpark figures. Our intent was not to mislead.
