    Nice review. Not surprised with the conclusion you arrived at. But all you really needed to do was ask your dog. Look where he sat through the entire video! LOL FWIW, My dog happens to love my XP too!
    You mentioned about the difference in battery capacities and motor size. Do you notice any difference in performance? In spite of the differences, their performance should be about the same because the XP is so much lighter and doesn't have the ultra fat tires. The Bison needs the large motor and twin batteries just to level the playing field - it likely does not gain any range over the XP..
    Another advantage the Bison has is that it has 7 gears. The XP is only a single speed, and for those that want to pedal, the stock XP has no pedaling resistance beyond 8 1/2 mph. If you upgrade the crankset to 52 teeth, you get an additional 3mph of speed before there is minimal pedaling resistance.
    I have had my XP for about 2 1/2 months now, and now have driven 600 miles and am extremely pleased with it.
    Looking forward to your AddMotor review.

      Toby knows. :-) you make a great point, I didn't compare al the components but I should have mentioned the 1 speed versus 7 speeds. That is a significant difference. As for performance, once I upgraded the controller on the Bison pro, its seems to be more powerful. But I am very happy with the performance of the XP.

    What a great video comparing the two trikes. After I saw that you had purchased the Emojo Pro with its suspension forks and bigger tires, I also considered buying it. But, we went with the Lectric trike mostly due to price; 2 for one over the Emojo. There is a learning curve to ride a trike vs a bicycle but safety is priority # 1 now.

    Saw a $6,000 e bike here on YT being driven down the road and all at once, a white cloud began pouring out between the rider's leg. He jumped off and try blowing on it...big mistake..toxic fumes. Then it burst into flames and didn't quit. Wonder why battery failed. I decided to get pedal power only.

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey dug. Never put your feet down while in motion. You will run yourself over with the back tires. Careful around the corners and turns, lean to the inside to counterbalance the trike. If the trike feels a little tipsy, lower the seat a little to lower the center of balance. Never get on or off with it powered on. You may accidently rotate the pedal or hit the throttle. Hope this helps.

    I wish I didn't have to write this review. These bikes are junk in our view. I bought two of them in July of 2023, by October both bikes have a bad axle bearing on the rear. This is with only neighborhood rides and no speed above 2. total miles on one is 117 and on the other 102. this bearing is not repairable and Lectric e-bikes said to send them back for repair. We live over a thousand miles away. They refused any help with shop manuals or tech support, just send them back. We have the bikes in our garage if anyone wishes to verify. Sorry. Don and Jenny

    Thanks so much Richard! I followed your Lectric trike journey from the beginning and your reviews helped me to make the decision to buy one. I know you had a rough beginning with the damaged Lectric you received, so it's remarkable that the trike has won you over. I was going to wait to compare the new Addmotor, but decided I don't need additional power as a petite woman, but I'll likely upgrade to 52 tooth crankset to reduce dreaded ghost pedaling. Your videos are excellent!

    I have been waiting on your reviews on etrikes. Like you my wife has back troubles and was waiting to see which one your wife likes. Now I guess I’ll need to wait another month. Like your wife , my wife wants to get out and do something together. Thank you

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh no, sorry she has to wait another month. I am hopeful the new trike will be much better. We already know its a bigger battery, bigger motor and more torque. Depending on where and how you ride, you may not need the extra power, torque, speed, battery and suspension forks. What we learned about the Lectric XP is that its very capable, more so than we imagined. But its limited to 14mph. With how and where we ride, the torque is fine, the battery is enough, the motor is very good and the tires along with the suspension seat post do a good job on the bumps. Hopefully just a few more weeks.

    Lectric trike xp. My brake disc is rusting from the dampness in the air. How can I clean it up? Is there anything to prevent rust once I get it cleaned up?

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not sure what to tell you there. Try a can of brake clean and see if you can get it off. But usually any small imperfection in the disk can affect braking and also create a lot of brake noise. I have not run into this problem yet.

    I watch your videos about if you should get a XP ETRIKE, and how you said something about it without every riding it, it was a very disappointing video for me. But when I seen the video of the etrike you decided to purchase and how much trouble it was to put together, I knew right away that bike was a bad decision. There are too many etrikes out there that you can purchase that don’t require much, if any labor of putting it together. Even though the XP TRIKE came with some problems, it’s still a better deal then the other trike. Basically I’m saying that I’m happy to see you admit that you made a mistake about the XP TRIKE. Even after seeing your bad review of the XP TRIKE I still purchase one for my wife, mostly because I know she didn’t want such a beast of a bike seeing that I already ride a Himiway Cruiser fat tire. Anyway this is a great video.

    I have been consuming info on the lectric trike. What has me sold is, rear wheel drive, 500w motor ( max size in Canada) hydraulic breaks, foldablility, trailer towing on center (you have to by the peice, but the frame mount is there) 30.5 inches wide so it will fit through a standard exterior door.... literally this can replace a car as a grocery getter... but boy I am telling you... I will need pro rated locks. I am also at tagging it... twice.trailer hauling means I can bring my grand daughter along for the ride.

    I think the Bison Pro (not sure, can you clarify?) is on a modified bike frame (like the Addmotor, which is why they are less stable). The Lectric trike frame was designed from the bottom up specifically for use as a trike - that was a huge selling point for us.

    • @andrevanderwalt69

      He mentions in his review of the Bison that the frame was specifically designed as a trike

  • @Xterraforce
    @Xterraforce ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I wondered why the Bison Pro had a lower weight capacity than the Lectric. The additional weight of the trike itself plus the flexibility of the frame are probably the main reasons. Personally I don't want a front hub motor no matter how good a trike is. I'm sure they're fine but in my head I just don't like the idea. Great comparison video.

    Greetings again. I have not bought anything. I have a question about brakes. There are hydraulic and manual DISC BRAKES. Can you comment about the difference between the two? I have not experienced either. The electric XP is still teasing me. My fear is the condition that it will arrive in. Have you heard of any improvement in their shipping damages, etc.? Thank you again for all of your help. Blessings to you.

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. Most people like to see hydraulic brakes on larger, heavier ebikes. They do brake a little better. However, a quality manual brake does just fine also. So don't pass up the perfect bike just because it has manual disk. Now, hydraulic are easier to maintain and don't need periodic adjustments as the pads wear thin. So that is a benefit. As for updates, I asked several days ago and didn't get a response.

    You provided a lot of good info. Thanks. The Lectric XP is rated for 330lbs. The size is great for a very short rider.
    1. Should the foldable frame be a concern for someone who is over 300lbs?
    2. Should the motor and tire size be an issue for the larger rider to go up inclines and over grass etc?

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Does not matter if its folding in my opinion. You just want to make sure the overall weight capacity is good. If you don't exceed that, and for some reason the folding mechanism failed, that would be a big problem for the company. As for the rest, rider weight is going to be a factor on any trike/bike. So here is what I suggest, look for something that has 750w motor, but also a high torque rating. I would suggest 90nm or higher, which is how the new E-310 is equipped. That should do you just fine.

    I'm a big guy also at 6'3" and 250 lbs, and I've been riding trikes for 45 years now (an etrike for the last 6 yrs). A mid-sized trike is lower and better to control with leaning into corners, etc. as long as it's rated to handle my weight and the frame doesn't twist much.
    The rear wheel drive on the Lectric XP might be why it does inclines and high grass better than that FWD Bison trike.
    * Which is why I'm also waiting for the Addmotor 310 Plus! Extra performance is worth the $$! (But I wish they'd make their Cruise Control user-settable for more than 6 km/hr.)*

    • @EbikeReviews
      @EbikeReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, I think...hope, the e-310 will be much better. It should be with the higher torque rating and higher speed. 14mph is good for a lot of people, but 20 is better for us.

      Yeah, really looking forward to getting more good insights on the 310. Got some time to choose since I won't be getting anything delivered until January of 2024!
