I’m a Watson main and she is neither fun or strong she has a higher win rate because no one plays her like wraith has hundreds of thousands of players one win from one of them is so low on the stats compared to Watson getting one win its a higher percentage because no one plays her its so annoying.

One thing I really wish they'd do for Wattson is decrease the cooldown to get your nodes for your fence, or maybe let her use energy weapons like the havoc or devotion without a turbocharger. I mean there isn't alot you can really do to make her more appealing to play unless they completely rework her.

@@aceofaces1506 the players are not "just cracked" I have had plenty of wattson main teammates that were dogshit. She has a high winrate bc of her ultimate. It's the strongest in the game rn, without a doubt. Considering her entire kit is built around getting her ultimate faster, that's why she's OP. Her abilities aren't fun but her ult can shut down any legend with projectiles (Gibby, Horizon, Bang, Fuse) all while giving constant shield healing that makes it impossible to chip their meds away. It forces you to do a hard push, which is always unfavorable. If you think wattson is bad, it's because you didn't learn how to use her.

Her ult is most definetly not op, you can't put it anywhere, its easy to break, doesn't have a lot of use outdoors other than charging shields (as SLOWLY as possible), and add to that the fact that her tactical is handicaped because of this ult.
so the issue isnt with Watson itself, but respawn is just so uninterested in actually looking at the game properly
Which is sad, and it's only a room of a couple people at Respawn making such decisions. Everyone else at the studio are incredible at their job, the art, the coding, VA, story, etc. More sensible decisions were made by studios heads in he past, what happened? Have they really gotten this out of touch from the game? I doubt they even play it (anymore).
Now that I think of it, Respawn's former boss got transferred to DICE LA, now it's starting to make a ton of sense. Even he couldn't do much about the steaming pile of Battlefield, we need him back ffs.

Simply put, game development is hard as fuck as you have to put a lot of things in consideration, not just specific legends you happen to main (and only play as), especially made hard in constantly changing online games.

@@kyoli012 No, that's not what I said but it's clear that majority of the people so heated about this are claiming to give up on the game because their main is screwed now. They nerf her now, then buff her, then nerf her etc... etc... Like I said, it's an ever changing game (and not the only one, this happens very often with online games) and they have more to keep in mind than just what character people happen to main and get pissy for. It's just easier to see the faults with the character, hell, with the game as a whole, far more than the developers because it's easier for individuals to focus on that alone and not a miriad of all this other stuff that's part of the game. You gotta keep a lot of other shit in mind and sometimes those choices are bad ones. Like I said, game development is hard. It's easy to complain but fixing the issues at hand takes a lot of time and effort, especially in online games that constantly change.

They're going to nerf her ultimate, which is super broken and is really the only reason you play her. They're buffing the other parts of her kit hard. It's a rebalance, just like lifeline, and the lifeline rebalance made her a lot less annoying to play against and a lot more fun to play as. People are screaming wattson nerf bc they hear nerf and buff and decide to focus on "NERF!!!!!!" bc human brains gravitate towards the negative first.

Make wattson fences the ability to be supercharged
When a player walks into the fence, the wattson can press a button to supercharge the fence.
A supercharged fence doesnt slow the player, but it does significantly more damage, and lasts for one second before breaking the 2 fence posts that were affected.
Wattson should have Shield recharge but also when reviving get 25 shield back to teammate ???

Wattson suggestion: Make her pylon discs throwable like loba's bracelet. tweak damage or amount she can have on the map to compensate, but that would make her feel way less clunky and more fun. Apex is all about feeling fun to play, and she really isn't fun in her current state.
I believe the most prominent buff she received was the range of how far she had to be to be able to extend one of her nodes.
Don't play wattson, and certainly don't play Ranked if you're just trying to have fun. The competitive scene isn't for you. Apex isn't anything baout "feeling fun to play". Sometimes yea you have fun, but then other days you literally get railed in the ass. Makes me think that you rarely play the game.

@@hipsterviking2658 I'd argue the structure of the game being movement heavy and ability focused is much closer to "fun to play" than hardcore sweat where aim and map knowledge are usually focused. Of course ranked will have a revolving door of meta picks but that doesn't mean every legend has to become meta. Octane is a perfect example. His pick rate sky-rocketed once his jump-pad got fixed and no one is claiming he's OP or that he's ranked meta. take a breath. I'm a Diamond rank player since that's so important to you lol.
I'm fairly sure that respawn can identify the server through the id in your game stats and then check the logs, so you should definitely let them know what happened.

I’m a Wattson main myself but I thought it would be cool if arc stars didn’t affect her since her theme is electricity and if she could stack arc stars how she can stack ultimate accelerants
I personally think that wattson is a lot of fun to play if you play her aggressively, not defensively. Playing her in pubs for a week or so will make you realize that there are interesting psychological effects going on with her fences and how enemies behave around them when pressured. once you know what is happening you can play her astonishingly aggressive and get really creative with her fencing. She is more challenging to get used to but once you are it's quite a fun ride. On the other hand, to me, someone like wraith is complete a sack of pure boredom. she represents oversimplified fps gameplay. There is no main character I play, but I'm sad wattson will get changed. Tastes are different. No need to suit everyones taste with everything

you put it very succinctly, I’ve played the ape legends “push button to do thing” and they aren’t fun. Playing Wattson, especially aggressively takes loads thought and skill, and is even more rewarding. And you’re right about the fences, it’s more phycological than anything, 95% the time the other team WILL respect them. If the don’t I will make sure they’re punished for it. I’ve seen people say “oh they’re so weak I always just run through them” that’s not what I’ve seen… It’s also so satisfying when you can counter other legends abilities and grenade spams. I like how she plays now, I think all she really needs is shorter fence cool downs and/or buffed passive shield regen and she’d be golden.
and also here me out, she’s stronger on console as everyone on console is on a controller, so when they get stunned, most of them can’t turn because their sensitivity gets reduced when stunned and they aren’t running ridiculously high sensitivities. but on mnk, you can just swipe your mouse really fast

ideas:
-up to 2 seconds after doing damage her shield regen doubles, or possibly while doing damage she gets a speed buff(think an opposite version of bang's speed boost, call it super charged or something, or focused current) just encouraging and rewarding more agro play?
-change her fences, have them stick to walls or floors (placing kinda like old sym turreta) have the current not visible till triggered (like when a teammate walks through them) but have some sort of visual cue and sound cue, like you can see a slight crackle and hear a buzzing but if youre not paying attention you could miss it. while they are active/triggered they are obviously louder and very easy to notice.
the goal: the fences are so rarely useful in general play, making them more stealth would increase their ability to be used. recon heroes could scout them out for counter play. in this case reduce the slow because surprise fence would need more careful balancing.
-maybe her ult could over heal shields a little or provide less or no shield heal but instead let you have 25% faster use of shield items. (possibly still buffing watt herself on shield regen)
-maybe have melee attack have an extra tic damage(not much) and have a little electric animation effect like when she revives someone. (you know kinda like how the triple take has that visual effect) even if you don't want to give her the extra dmg, give her the visual effect it would be fun.
im not saying all of these would work together, just ideas for different ways to buff, or modify her kit to encourage more active and enjoyable gameplay.
you could still use most of these in a more passive distance style(the regen/speed ideas could play well for a sniper playstyle as well as an in your face smg style)

Should be able to chuck a linked wattson fence, and it give a speed buff to teamates. Nerf the length and placement number when no ult nearby. And buff it when the ult is up.
The ult should stay the same, but deploy time should be significantly faster and throwable.

I have actually been in such a double rez event. It was completely random tho. Ended up in the upper plane and died by height timer if I remember correctly.
Ive been coming up with a Wattson buff idea that'd make her more fun to play in my eyes, Either have an option to let her use her ult but its like on her back so she can move around instead of staying in one area, but one downside would be her movement speed is decrease while its on. Or maybe while the ult is on, on her back, it creates like an area where while your team is in the area they have an amped movement speed but the ult doesnt last that long (kinda like Lucio from OW) but still can disarm grenades. Or she doesnt get stunned from Arc stars but takes damage. Hope that makes sense.

Some buffs that Watson could use should be the ability to use the havoc/devo without turbocharger, maybe no/little cool down on L-Star, extra damage with energy weapons or ability to increase their mag sizes, or she pops shields/Phoenix kits faster. Idk. She needs something.

Just increase her fence place range and recharge rate. Maybe a small buff to the passive shield since it's already decent combined with her ultimate.

I was dying at the Wattson fences and camping, we see that a lot when moving through plat. Except you were missing the Caustic on the team with a lifeline. That is the camping godsquad! But for Wattson, when I started playing in season 7 I was excited to unlock her, outfits are sick and the voice is so good. Too bad she is just so terrible. Maybe give her an EMP or something? When you make a fence perimeter it will EMP if the fence is broken? That might be a but much if you are an enemy team trying to get into a building and they have Caustic ratting with 0RP.

My suggestion for Wattson : Her passive shield regen buffed, and her interception pylon will recharge any character's (excluding the owner wattson of the interception pylon) ult by interacting with it, a total of 3 ults can be recharged this way (including enemies) and this will cost 50 shields to do. After the total of 3 ults have been recharged, the interception pylon will stop regenerating shields and will break after 10 seconds.
Note: This ult recharge is not instantaneous and will take 3 seconds (with a cool animation cuz why not) and the character will be stunned during this time. There can also be a cooldown between the ult recharges.
This is not fixed and can be tweaked but this is my general idea. This can also be canon bcuz every single character's ults use technology (yes, even revenant, he doesnt have satanic powers). So, wattson could just hotwire that tech to recharge their ult, and this is possible bcuz we see her powering up that life support tech using her fences in that one lore short film published by Respawn themselves.

Honestly wattsons stats may as high as they are because more experienced players tend to pick wattson. Only pros pick her genuinely. I feel like she is only really used to her full extent competitively by the right players and teams. So maybe its the players keeping her statistics high. Because objectively, she is probably among the worst 3 legends in the game. Right next to fuse and mirage. She is also mostly useless for pubs, since pubstomping and a passive/defensive playstyle don't mix.

Get rid of her fences and give her a raiden move (mortal kombat). She can fly x meters through the air and maybe deal a bit of damage to enemies close to her path. Maybe shield damage only. Mobility that can be used to get in and out of combat
