I’ve come back to watch this video for a third time. Always end back up here when I get the bug for BL2. You’re video is extremely well done, coming from someone who didn’t even know you can raise the difficulty it was all explained amazingly. Much love brother.
Love these videos. They remind me of when I used to write essays and I’d use filler words to make it sound better and longer. Bringing up random facts or “how too”’s in the middle of a pretty cool topic though is very enjoyable.
I was in Bahroo's twitch chat the day 1Life2Live was "started" and I was in his twitch chat the first time he succeeded with Salvador and said Krieg was most likely impossible. Just discovered this video after picking up BL2 again and this is a bittersweet moment.
I'm baffled it's a thing I played through just 2 games (absolutely loved it, though i was mostly invested into the story rather than RPG elements, as i'm a pleb), 1 and 2 a handful of times, mostly on TVHM, but to go through THE *ENTIRETY* of the game, since start, is just mind boggling. I mean, THE ENTIRETY OF THE GAME, just how much time did it took? I haven't put that much time into all the games! I can only salute, for i am with him in this adventure of loot and glory! upd: You know a video is great when you go out of fullscreen numerous times to find the like button already clicked! Great video man, it's really big news and awesome montage of an awesome footage!
Dude I love these Summoning Salt-esque reviews, these are so sick! Any chance we see an all quests co-op run review in the future?? It'd be really cool to hear your insight on the run!
Honestly, there is a lot of underrepresented speedrun content from bl2 on youtube. The journey that took solo all quests under 5 hrs and where it stands today, the 3 hr barrier for coop all quests, the hour and a half of time save recently to the 1-op8 category. Would be cool to see some of the stories behind these situations finally get some spotlight here on YT.
Thank you so much for explaining all of this! You do a great job breaking it all down. So many others assume we know all the lingo and don't call out their weapons or builds

He's so freaking calm about it too. There isn't any dream level reactions, just calm and collected logical affirmation. A blessing for my ears compared to "LETS FUCKING GOOOOO"
6:49 , just to complement, the Grog Nozzle is a Mission Item, that means it'll be random everytime you load up your character, and if you complete the mission, it'll dissapear, and there's no other way to get a new Grog Nozzle.
this is incredible, i played this game to death back in the day - but nowhere near the level darksmoke was on. amazing to see this, thanks for putting this video together
Something I never hear anyone mention with Salvador… Hyperion weapons are broken on him as hip firing will narrow to a laser beam of death. It allows you to keep some distance while gunzerking and not suffer from hip fire spread
If glitches were allowed, playing on the Nintendo switch would be the best option by far (just before the Lilith DLC was added, there was a ton of secret cheat codes that could be used. Unfortunately, they all got removed after the DLC was added, although they left a code that killed every enemy in a 20-meter radius. This also could give you a second wind.)
Bit upset that there no mention of Kai_TW in this video. He completed 1life with Krieg back when the level cap was 72 OP8, and he's done insane challenges on top of 1 life such as non-unique items 1 life Zer0 which he got to OP10, or non-unique items, no read-only farming Krieg which got to OP7.
Speaking of the legendary reaper I found a duplication glitch accidentally because I accidentally sold it and had to buy it back but when I bought it back it ended up being 2 legendary reaper class mods Wasn't able to replicate glitch since I have no idea how it happened

Bro I knew this guy back when he got only 10 viewers a stream, I've been watching this guy ever since I saw his records on borderlands 2 speedruns He's such a good guy and you should follow him on twitch and support him fr
When you joked and said he died on the Hammerlock DLC my heart sunk!!!! Dude you bout got me to shed a tear my dude!!! And ima BL2 Veteran! I’ve been there done a lot of things Ik how hard it is on OP10. Been playing since it first came out. I had hundreds of hours in it. But you man you’ve got all of us topped!
I've found that the ceiling crushing platforms in the Tina DLC always spawn at the correct cycle for a player running up to them to go right through if they never hesitate. Is this not common knowledge? It's a common gimmick in Super Monkey Ball games to take leaps of faith by holding forward at the start of levels that require you to pass through dangerous obstacles, so it was immediately obvious to me to try this strategy, and it's worked for me every time. It only fails if another player gets there before me. Edit: I love how shameless darksmoke is with his drop reloads lmao If I'm not mistaken, he's also spamming double shots with the Flakker on OMGWTH. Both of those techniques together make BL2's gameplay feel so much smoother than many other shooting games, but they also feel really dirty to use (they're obviously unintended behavior). I think at least one of them is banned in the raid boss time trials, but I'm guessing the community's time trial rules don't apply to the 1-Life challenge.
I remember playing this game alot back on the 360, i have great memories of it. its strangely nostalgic to see that the old Conference Call/Bee combo is still as OP as ever, lol.
As someone who has never played a single minute of borderlands (don't worry im planning on playing eventually), I felt like I understood everything being said in this video, well done!
Still remember when admiral bahroo and ryoko finally completed their double one life run 6 years ago on their Krieg, maya combo and flipping out after months of watching them struggle glad to see people are still finding new ways to take on the challenge and make it more difficult the borderlands 2 community will always be one of the greatest in gaming
I'm so in diapers in this game, I love it so much, but I've never read too much about meta weapons and builds, I just play it and that's all my enjoyment, now I have to go deeper so I can be better at it, thank you Joltz, this is a very cool video
Wow thank you for doing a video on this run! I play Krieg in BL2 and while I'm not even close to darksmoke's level I really like that you went through all his gear and what skill trees he went down. Makes me want to pick up my controller again 😁
I love watching Darksmoke's speed runs and one life runs, even if I never watch every second of them (some are a number of hours long). He's undoubtedly the most skilled BL2 player I've seen and must have a near photographic memory for every pixel of every map. He chats to his subs throughout his runs - I have to mute my phone and ensure the room is cleared of kids before taking on a boss.
You should check out Kai_TW then, he's the most accomplished BL2 player ever. And he was actually the first to complete one-life on each character. . including Krieg

@@yesman1231 yea man for sure. I don't watch twitch so I didn't see most of his content but I definitely watched the borderlands stuff that was here on TH-cam. I actually went through my subscriptions the other day and cleaned out the dead channels and stuff I wasn't interested in any more, I noticed his channel that I was subscribed to had everything taken off of it. Did he quit twitch for a long time as well? Another guy that made good bl2 content that quit was man of low moral fiber. I know he was a bit of a prick and all that and I definitely would not like him in real life but his content was quality haha. I really miss those days tbh. Ever since bl3 the whole community just doesn't feel the same, it's like something is missing. Maybe that's just me though, my way of living is a lot different than it was then. I'm not addicted to borderlands now haha. I used to play 10 hours a day at least, every single day. Can't do that now.
@@JaredTG. nah he's really active on twitch and does incredibly well tbh, for him being a content creator moving away from bl3 was the best thing he could do
@@king_sheogorath cool, glad he's doing well.
this is mindblowing. All “previous kriegs”. All the other characters. This run. This is like tens of thousands of hours.
It should absolutely be pointed out that Kai_TW was the first to do Krieg one life. In fact, Kai was the first to do one life on each character. He holds a million BL2 world records and made the one life challenge what it is today. Kai, imo, is the most legendary vault hunter there ever was. And he still streams! Everyone should check him out
Do they upload to youtube?
@@coffeecrispy2673 No but I think he still regularly streams, and all of his streams are saved as vods on twitch
gotta say Joltz, this new content style suits you very well as it does for us too! and the shoutouts to these other awesome folks are great too so thank you! also what the heck Joltz!? you didn´t call it "not saturn" XD this is the first ever I have heard you call it uranus!!!
this video is great, even me, having watched Joltz for over a year now, still learned a few things. Having to do the whole game over AGAIN on OP10 is just sheer dedication, props to darksmoke
Love smoke! Had no idea nobody had done this before, only makes what he did even more impressive!
I rewatch this once a month. Very comforting video.
I remember watching 1 Life runs YEARS ago, glad to see the game still lives on.
I was in Bahroo's twitch chat the day 1Life2Live was "started" and I was in his twitch chat the first time he succeeded with Salvador and said Krieg was most likely impossible. Just discovered this video after picking up BL2 again and this is a bittersweet moment.
I have been pkaying borderlands 2 for 10 years now and i never in my life thought this was possible. What a legend
I'm baffled it's a thing
I played through just 2 games (absolutely loved it, though i was mostly invested into the story rather than RPG elements, as i'm a pleb), 1 and 2 a handful of times, mostly on TVHM, but to go through THE *ENTIRETY* of the game, since start, is just mind boggling.
Wow. Just getting to op10 on krieg is an accomplishment, without dying is insanity I never would’ve thought it could be done
I watched their entire one life Axton run a while back, it was absolutely magical!
Thank you so much for explaining all of this! You do a great job breaking it all down. So many others assume we know all the lingo and don't call out their weapons or builds
Expert commentary on an expert play through! This was so great to watch! Thanks for your time
the amount of dedication that would go into 23 one life run attempts on krieg is actually insane
joltz, i'm loving these new "community reporting" style of videos! a great reminder that there's still new things being mastered in this series... nice
The guy is a Legend, he deserved this completion.
I have no idea who you are and just saw the video and thought I’ll watch a few minutes. You might be the best commentator I’ve ever heard. The way you explain everything is amazing. I watched all 20 minutes and loved it. New sub ❤️
He has amazing play throughs I'd watch them, they are pretty fun and just an enjoyable watch
And now he’s completed the 1 Life challenge for all characters!
MAN, borderlands 2 is so much better than 3. there is so much more to it and its so much more challenging with way more interesting loot
this experience of returning to kill a boss that killed off a previous Krieg is giving me heavy deathloop vibes
YOU KILLED ME ONCE BUT IM BACK BABY.
This showed me how little I knew about Borderlands 2. Thanks Joltz for bringing us this!
i had no fking idead the game was that big! i remember playing it for maybe 50 hours or so, beating "story" with a couple of characters and thinking i beat the game lol!
@@rusduderus You can have over 2.000 hours on bl2 and still have not done the raid bosses, farmed all the legendaries, pearls, seraphs, uniques you need, reach overpowered level 10, completed all the side quests ect.
@@mariosmatzoros3553 cool, does borderland 3 has all that infinite farm grind as well?
@@rusduderusborderlands 3?never heard of such game before.didnt the borderlands series end with the pre-sequel?
18:36 I think this is the first time that Joltz has EVER said Uranus. He normally just says "Not Saturn". It's not even a cuss word, it's a funny sounding planet, and the Roman translation of a Greek god, Ouranos.
I just started watching his latest episode on TH-cam! Congrats to him!
I dont know why, but the moment I heard your voice I broke into tears, Its been so long since I've watched a video of yours.
…
@@some1behindthescreen535🤣🤣
This is the cannon version of these characters
this is incredible, i played this game to death back in the day - but nowhere near the level darksmoke was on. amazing to see this, thanks for putting this video together
Meanwhile, I’m still dying with Salvador on normal mode even though I have a slagga, bee shield, and sandhawk lol
Sal is literally the worst VH to be using bee shield on
Something I never hear anyone mention with Salvador… Hyperion weapons are broken on him as hip firing will narrow to a laser beam of death. It allows you to keep some distance while gunzerking and not suffer from hip fire spread
That’s insane, he’s so talented for his amazing skills and amazing runs and playthroughs, he’s awesome and did an amazing job.
After running through this game with every character and maxing out each of them, I'm amazing I can still be surprised with this game
I love this video. This was my first Joltz video, and I love when it graces me with its reappearance in my recommended.
Most people: Borderlands is a looter RPG.
Darksmoke: It's a rogue like.
It amazes me to think of how many hours this guy practiced at this game to accomplish that. Talk about dedicated.
This just shows again how much content there is in Borderlands 2. Great game!
There were never "cheat codes" on borderlands...
@@mariosmatzoros3553 I guess you don’t know about the extra wubs cheat
@@clumsycitrus4079 extra wubs doesn't do anything...
@@mariosmatzoros3553 still gotta use a cheat code to get it
Not surprised that the playable Psycho has the most Psycho difficulty.
You’d literally have to be a madman to pull this off.
Even more so when how Suicidal some of his strongest playstyles were meant to be.
darksmoke is the TRUE vault hunter of borderlands.
the song at 1:30 sounds awesome at 1.25 speed
Bit upset that there no mention of Kai_TW in this video. He completed 1life with Krieg back when the level cap was 72 OP8, and he's done insane challenges on top of 1 life such as non-unique items 1 life Zer0 which he got to OP10, or non-unique items, no read-only farming Krieg which got to OP7.
Yeah, I thought of him as soon as video started, shame Joltz didn't mention him at all :(
Kai, Blackwayv, FistMaster, and others are definitely legends at completing one life.
Kai is the goat. not to take anything away from Dark here
Speaking of the legendary reaper I found a duplication glitch accidentally because I accidentally sold it and had to buy it back but when I bought it back it ended up being 2 legendary reaper class mods
Wasn't able to replicate glitch since I have no idea how it happened
Stopped watching bl2 videos when yoteslaya passed away I was 13 , now I’m 21 miss you champ , and thank you joltz for bringing back good ass memories of when I was a youngin!!
It really goes to show you that despite Joltzdude139 being a pretty damn impressive player and a cracked one at that‚ there is still other players who blow even his mind. I love the Borderlands community because while there are skill gaps... You can't hate on anyone because the series even in it's highs and lows makes everyone appreciate others and their skills at play such an iconic series
Couldnt have been said any better 😌 Big W for the borderlands community‼️
I mean.... Bread
Bro I knew this guy back when he got only 10 viewers a stream, I've been watching this guy ever since I saw his records on borderlands 2 speedruns
He's such a good guy and you should follow him on twitch and support him fr
When you joked and said he died on the Hammerlock DLC my heart sunk!!!! Dude you bout got me to shed a tear my dude!!! And ima BL2 Veteran! I’ve been there done a lot of things Ik how hard it is on OP10. Been playing since it first came out. I had hundreds of hours in it. But you man you’ve got all of us topped!
Jotlzdude: 2:18 - Darksmoke is really really good at this game.
Me: I think you meant to say that Darksmoke has a really good gamer chair.
Edit: I love how shameless darksmoke is with his drop reloads lmao
If I'm not mistaken, he's also spamming double shots with the Flakker on OMGWTH.
Me: I play video game All day. I have no life.
Darksmoke: ...hold my drink.
Same time, you know the game is good when everyone still plays the hell out of it despite next title being out for 2 years now.
Should I... Should I tell him?
I remember playing this game alot back on the 360, i have great memories of it. its strangely nostalgic to see that the old Conference Call/Bee combo is still as OP as ever, lol.
Dude is really "the" psychopath. I cant imagine doing that in any game.
And he was actually the first to complete one-life on each character. . including Krieg
clearly darksmoke is the best bl2 player ever
