Thank you! My sister went to Cuba recently and brought 2 big suitcases of flip-flops, kitchen utensils, AA and AAA batteries, toothpaste, socks, and other daily essentials. Basically, a microcosm of dollar store stuff. In Havana she connected with a community leader who will distribute everything to the people in the neighborhood. This is not shameful it is sharing with the family you haven’t met. By accident of birth some of us are born to the opportunity to share and benefit others. This is the honor given to us if we are to call ourselves humans. Some people become fearful and greedy. You can offset some of this by giving with a cheerful heart. It feels great too!

Thank you for taking the time to produce this video. The Cubans could have simply rolled over and given up, but instead they overcame what most would consider insurmountable odds, and are now the envy of every DIYer on the planet. They are, by any measure, among the most resourceful people in the world, and possibly the most inspiring.

We can't do that here because the cars rust away to nothing in 20 years. Unless you don't drive them all year round.

I watched a video about Cuba.
The man had a really old old car .
It had a marine/ boat motor instead of its original motor and it was painted with regular house paint that was collected and mixed with other paint to have enough to paint it .
It looked good and ran good also.
    Great mind and thrifty

Thanks for making this video. Those cars are not considered classic there. They are everyday transportation. I remember riding one with and air compressor from a refrigerator adapted to the car ( air conditioning) The refrigerator in my house was mounted on 4 pistons.

Nice insights into Cuban mechanics 🧰. I’d suggest you explain AS you’re traveling around. Like the truck at 19:00…..I gathered it has a Czechoslovak tractor engine with a radiator from a Mercedes. If you say that in the video it would be very helpful. Subtitles are basically useless anyway. BTW, I’m married to a Cuban and appreciate your video and insights 👍🥊🇺🇸
