It is regrettable that this once-beautiful city has fallen into such a state of disrepair, with many of its buildings now in ruins. It is indeed a disheartening sight. 😭 However, I still hold a desire to visit this place, as it exudes a magical ambiance and amazing people. 🏰✨
What’s crazy, is that while it is so trashed today, you can tell it used to be wealthy and have all these amazing buildings. To see it during its heyday would have been something else!

@@ohwowawesomegreat No. It’s looks very bad. Every building is destroyed. The roads are basically turning back into dirt, and the trash piles are at every corner. Awful. And yes, some big US cities ran by a certain group of people are trashed as well, but not nearly that bad. If you think they are worse, then it just shows that you’ve never actually been to either place.

Cuba is a dictatorship that uses terror and propaganda to repress its people. It arrests citizens, deprives them of the most basic human rights, silences them, and confronts families using extortion and threats. The regime's constant practices of illegal imprisonment, the personal destruction of political dissidents and the limitation of fundamental rights have nothing to do with any blockade or embargo, but everything to do with the totalitarian communist dictatorship. All the propaganda that tries to cover up the Cuban dictatorship is based on two lies: the non-existent “embargo” and the alleged excellent “public health”. Cuba only suffers from one embargo: that of the dictatorship against its people, which limits the import of food, medicine, the use of the internet and the freedom to travel. We saw the evidence this week, when the regime “temporarily lifted” restrictions on food and medicine imports. Dismantling the lie about the so-called excellent Cuban public services is easy. Just go to Cuba to see. The healthcare system that the regime advertises so much is a bankrupt and dilapidated system that only provides quality service to wealthy foreigners and the regime's leaders. Cuba suffers from “the most expensive free healthcare in the world”, as I was told in Havana. The myth of healthcare quality has been debunked many times. María Werlau, from the NGO Archivo Cuba (Cuba Archive), explained that “health in Cuba is terrible for ordinary citizens. There is an apartheid that favors the ruling elite and foreigners who pay in dollars”, and it has been demonstrated that “the Cuban health system lacks transparency and capacity”. Its health policies have not only not yielded good results, but also limit patients' basic rights; “It’s hardly a model to follow.” Anyone who travels to Cuba can see that the oft-repeated “non-existence of child malnutrition” that some say UNICEF shows is a lie and only masks a regime that still uses ration cards and poverty as tools to keep the population under its boots. . However, UNICEF never stated that Cuba had ended child malnutrition, but that the “incidence of underweight children fell to 4%”, a record that was beaten by Costa Rica and Chile, for example, which reached 1% . “Tracking Progress in Child and Maternal Nutrition: A Survival and Development Priority” (UNICEF, November 2009, p. 102 et seq.) Clearly shows how other countries have done significantly better than Cuba. The real data on infant mortality is twice the official figure and much worse than in countries like Chile or Costa Rica, according to studies (for example, “Infant Mortality in Cuba: Myth and Reality”, by Roberto M. Gonzalez). The embargo myth is even more hilarious. The non-existent embargo is a lie that serves as a pretext to cover up the dictatorship. Cuba's international trade to GDP was 27 percent of GDP in 2020, compared to, for example, Brazil's, which is 32 percent. Its exports represent 14.5% of GDP, compared to 16% in Brazil (World Bank data). The United States is Cuba's ninth largest trading partner, with 3% of imports. Cuba has more than twenty-seven bilateral treaties with more than ninety countries and exports to Canada (22 percent), China (21 percent), Venezuela (13 percent), Spain (11 percent), the Netherlands (7 percent) percent), Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Cyprus (2 percent each) and France (1 percent), among others (Cuban Statistical Office, 2020 ed.). US food and agricultural exports to Cuba increased 74.7% in March 2021, an annualized increase of 54.3% (Cuba Trade). Cuba, in turn, imported in 2020 from Venezuela (oil at cost or free), China, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, the United States and Germany, among others. Nice “embargo”! The only thing Cuba has is an embargo on items that the dictatorial regime uses for military purposes. What the left hides about the embargo: the embargo was implemented in 1958 under the Batista regime to limit arms sales. The 1960 embargo on U.S. exports to Cuba did not include food or medicine. Since 2000, there has not been any type of embargo on United States exports, whether of food or medicine. More than ninety North American multinationals have exported to Cuba since 2001. Since 2014, sixty North American companies have operated directly in Cuba (Cuba Trade Economic Council) Cuba exported US$14.9 million worth of goods to the United States and imported US$176.8 million in 2020, according to the American State Department. Imports and exports to China are also particularly important. The United States is the largest supplier of food and agricultural products to Cuba, according to the State Department, with exports of these products valued at US$220.5 million in 2018.
Is this the result of the American blockade on Cuba? USA seems to be a real democracy and freedom. Unless someone else wants to do it in an other way. 🙈🙉🙊 I see everithing. I hear everything. I tell everything. 💋 All rights reserved.
The buildings in Havana were crumbling before the revolution. The crumbling is just more advanced. This is a testament to how well they were built. The unusable ones just need to be demolished. The trash needs to be picked up more often to encourage more tourism without the smell of rotting food waste. Havana is not the only thing in Cuba. You need to see the amazing beauty of the rest of the island.
I am Cuban and travel there often to see my family. I bring supplies from anything like candy to prescription eye glasses & everything in between. I also send many packages with medicines for the old & children. This video is very arcuate of the many struggles of the people , but believe it or not most seem to be content. A couple of corrections. You can book accommodations using a CC but it all has to be done through a 3rd country Mexico , Canada or Spain. I also bring a MIFI device for internet but I rarely use since I'm there to visit family. Most Cubans do pay for some sort or rent or mortgage. Power is cheap so you will see a lot of electric types of inexpensive transportation. One of the most impressive things is severe crimes like murder , rape , pedophilia , robberies really don't exists , but it does happen from time to time. Justice is swift. You notice all the produce? It's the best I've ever tasted in my life , no chemical fertilizers. But you notice no proteins like beef , chicken , fish etc. You can bring loads of cash but things are very hard to get. No supermarkets or department stores. Well if your not of "The Party". The people don't talk politics openly but in private they can't understand why a fraction the U.S.A. population want's to become Communist/Socialist. Me either. I'm one of the lucky ones I got out when I was 5 , I am now 61. Shoot I have Spanish zero accent . I am grateful to America & God Bless her & keep her safe always. Y para los Cubanos. Que Viva Cuba Libre!! Thank you for the wonderful video.....

When I traveled all over Cuba 2015-16, even though I mostly stayed at the newer hotels (joint ventures with Canadians, Europeans and increasingly Asians), it was still next to impossible to get wifi even in those hotels. The signal was slow as molasses and dropped out a lot, and forget cell phone service. You can really see the poverty out in the countryside and small villages, but it appeared that everyone was well-fed, healthy, well educated with an active music and artsy scene. The food is mostly organic because Cuba has been unable to get the artificial fertilizers and pesticides that are all made in America. Cuba now leads the world in organic and/or urban agricultural techniques and their beautiful island is still mostly in its natural state.

BTW Canadian credit cards work in Cuba and Canadians make up about 40% of tourists - if you are in spots that use credit of course, which is not many. Again, fabulous walking tour of Havana. :)

It doesn't look any more trashed than some parts of every major American city. It looks pretty chill honestly.

@@ohwowawesomegreat No. It’s looks very bad. Every building is destroyed. The roads are basically turning back into dirt, and the trash piles are at every corner. Awful. This isn’t an America vs Cuba post. It’s just the truth. Cuba is trashed and it’s sad for the people due to their government. I hope they are able to fix it.

Its health policies have not only not yielded good results, but also limit patients' basic rights; “It’s hardly a model to follow.”
Anyone who travels to Cuba can see that the oft-repeated “non-existence of child malnutrition” that some say UNICEF shows is a lie and only masks a regime that still uses ration cards and poverty as tools to keep the population under its boots.
Since 2014, sixty North American companies have operated directly in Cuba (Cuba Trade Economic Council)
Cuba exported US$14.9 million worth of goods to the United States and imported US$176.8 million in 2020, according to the American State Department. Imports and exports to China are also particularly important.
The United States is the largest supplier of food and agricultural products to Cuba, according to the State Department, with exports of these products valued at US$220.5 million in 2018.

All right. Love this video. Good on details and precise
Thanks for watching.
Is this the result of the American blockade on Cuba?
USA seems to be a real democracy and freedom.
Unless someone else wants to do it in an other way.

Wow, such gorgeous women.
Thanks for the info
Cuba is better than most of Arab and asian countries except golf states and china korea and japan. India is 10000% nastier than the worst area in cuba. If Cuba wasn't communist it will be worst than Haiti and number one narco state. some societies are just not ready for western style democracies.
Viva Cuba Libre!
I love Cuba, I have been 35 times, visited Havana 3 times..
@@mrshaw9201 my favourite is Club Kawama in Varadero around 30 times...But I have been all over withing 1 hour drive from Varadero, Been to Cienfuegos, Sancti Spiritus, Santa Clara, had a canchanchara in Trinidad , that city is bad for car wheel bearings...lol.....and a few more
So you never been to Cuba@@alainmcin
It's always so much trash on the streets? This is shocking. The citizens throw the trash at the right place, but it's not collected often enough. It looks like Cairo in Egypt.

Reminds me that when you’re on a princess cruise of the Western Caribbean, heading back to Florida you have a day at sea ,as you pass Cuba on the starboard side , they have a chocolate buffet on the ship at lunch with about 30 feet of every chocolate dessert delight you can imagine and right there on the starboard side of the ship is Cuba where you can’t even get one egg to make a cake
I love you channel good work already
Thanks 🙏🏽
Is wifi that important; you're there to expience the local culture and people not keep your nose in a mobile phone!!!!
@@carlatkinson4019 It becomes important when you lost your cellphone in the Miami Airport shortly before boarding the predawn flight to Cuba. I had lots of information on that phone, and it was important to contact all the credit card companies, agencies, etc., to cancel those accounts. I was finally able to get out one email on a really old, super slow dialup computer while sitting in a broken chair at the one functioning computer I found. It took several tries over many hours, but I was finally able to email my daughter after days of trying to tell her to contact all the proper parties and stop payments, cancel accounts, etc.
Thanks for this excellent documentation. I have been in Havanna few years ago. Seen all this, nothing has changed...
You're very welcome.
