Tell your cameraman he did an amazing job
Thanks mate. The "camera man" was actually just the two of us and a mate. I used a 5D. Marty shot using GoPros. And we took a mate with us to help out so we could get shots of both of us at the same time. Total production crew of 3 (including the two of us)
Back at home we edited it ourselves and wrote the music.
Was a huge job but really happy with how it turned out. Now we're keen on doing it again in another country!
Mighty Car Mods with a gimbal? its so steady its like you guys are on rails.
Mighty Car Mods Guys, what a superb job you did with the filiming and cinematography! Half way through I genuinely thought you'd taken a full film crew with you. You're really on par with the big boys now ;-)
Hi guys, I am Cuban and like a lot of us I live in Miami where I stumbled onto your channel and I have loved it ever since. I got to say that watching this little documentary made in cuba brought tears to my eyes. It's being 7 years since I left my country and I have missed it every day of my life. For me it was an emotional roller-coaster watching you guys driving a Chevy powered by a diesel Toyota engine and a lada because those are the cars I grew up with. My grandfather owned a lada1600 when I was a kid and the car I was taken to the airport on when I left the country was a 1955 Chevy bel air powered by a Mitsubishi diesel engine. I can guarantee I am one of the few Cubans who actually know about your channel and follow you guys since the language is different and the little English they speak down there is not enough for your accents. I have been a subscriber for the last 4 years. My favorite car of all you have worked on was MOD MAX and the Mini. Thanks guy for doing this project in my beloved island and I hope you can do it again. Leo
( Hey, I loved reading your comment re: growing up in Cuba ! A very inspiring and noble country in many ways.)
I live in Fl. too and am waiting for trade between the U.S. and Cuba to open up again. I've heard you can stay in a 5 star hotel down there for what you would pay for a budget motel here. Would love to be a tourist there. Maybe when trump is gone. Hopefully that happens soon.
I love how he put his arm around you in the car 😂 it's so small but he somehow made it look so welcoming I love it
Its beautiful to see a time capsule but it killes me to know the actual struggles my fellow Cubans go through as we can see in this short documentary.. thank you mighty car mods for exposing the struggles Cubans go through just to keep a car running
11:23 Legend has it, that man is still in that gangster pose to this day
The real question is "Can a V12 fit into my Polski?" 😂
Probably not, but I've actually seen Lada V8 swaps... Perhaps some of them are documented on Engine Swap Depot ;)
Again, finding myself binge-watching MCM. Good stuff!
Holy shit, the production value here is epic. The color correction, camera stabilization, framing and all, it's like you hired a production crew for this trip.
i was thinking Singapore but then remembered theres a video of their already. Cuba is a great choice, makes alot of sense especially with the fast 8 build and fast 8 setting. Nice job guys!
Anytime I think of Cuba or their cars, I always think of the many wasted hours on the playstation playing Driver 2.
Yeah, its something different, sure they could say go to the UK and look at all the crap Fords but that wouldnt be interesting. Cuba car culture is clearly different as shown in the video, thus interesting.
Who else drops everything when they get a notification that mighty car mods uploads a new video?
Tyler Duchene its not the same anymore not exciting all there projects are boring now
Jose Pacheco T I don't understand how they're boring. Because they aren't modding Nissans Subarus and all the typical tuning cars? I think they're more interesting because they're adding content we don't see on TH-cam.
Being part Cuban, and the two losses of my family originally from Holguín and Havana, Cuba. I'd Like to Thank you guys for travelling to Cuba to see this amazing can-do country of die-hard car enthusiasts. The part where Moog mentioned the red ribbon on the cars is a true thing for all car owners in Cuba. One day I got into a car accident and the week after I fixed the car and repainted it my Grandmother gave me a red ribbon to place in my car to have for good luck, she said it will keep me and the car safe.... I was in Tears mate! I lost my grandmother and My Aunts father March 9th, the same day.... Cheers and I have always been a strong fan of you guys, Thank you.
I just wanted to go to bed.. Thanks for another half an hour less sleep! :D
wow this is cool . i am Cuban myself .. took me by surprise when i saw Marty Car Mods Cuba . i was like whatttt ????
What a way to show that we live in such a disposable society. The Cuban people are the world's best recycling nation. We could all learn a lot from them. P. S I need that 57 you were driving. Epic.
Say it to Mercedes and BMW owners who purposely build crap to sell more. They should burn in hell.
The pink car is a 1957 Chevy with the top cut off to make it a convertible. The blue Chevrolet that he drives the majority of the time is a 1955.
The only thing anyone with a brain could learn from Cuba is how to ruin a country in just a couple years via Socialism/Communism.
@@ValFckGoogle you're really obsessed with communism hey. Do you have someone to talk to about it?
I love your videos so much. They're not only about cars but actually make you see the culture from other parts of the world. Thank you very much for this!
Hello MCM , I have been following your channel for a while now and I am very touched from this video seeing you guys going around Havanas streets is wonderful for me . I am 23 yo and was born in Cuba; learned how to drive there in Freaking old Lada at the age of 13 before leaving the island with my family. I dont know how to express my gratitude to you guys for showing us to the world in this way. I have seen your progress since you guys started to work in your driveway and one thing I have noticed is that you guys are unique and great not because you love cars in a passionate way but because you know how to transmit that sentiment trough videos and show us what real passion is, by the simplest things of life .
Thank You Guys.
Thank you so much. We had such an amazing time over there. A real eye opener. All the best.
Very well done guys, My wife and I love Cuba, the cars, and most of all the people. This is by far one of your best videos.
I really like watching you two work on your cars. But, I super enjoyed this. You both have great personalities when interacting with other people and it's nice to watch.
Thank you so much for this! The car culture in Cuba has always fascinated me.
You fine chaps are doing incredible work. Production quality, and story telling is insane. Love that you're able to give us a glimpse into the everyday life of other car cultures. All while keeping it entertaining and informative. Great work!
And all for free too! How can anyone ever be negative? Haha. One of my favourite YT channels by far!
This really is one of the best episodes you have ever done - Well done MCM !!!!
This was by far one of the most unique things I've ever seen you do. Good job!
Wow guys, I loved this special so much! This is the kind of show that is so entertaining even if you are not much of a petrol head. I know it's very challenging, maybe more than your usual episodes, but every time you add the travel/cultural aspect to your show, it just becomes perfectly complete. Worthless to say that your humor is the key that ties everything together! Thank you and congrats on the well-deserved success!
Pretty much the best production quality I've seen on TH-cam. Well done guys.
This is probably THE greatest MightyCarMods video I've watched to date. Topping Kei To the City and Chasing Midnight in my books
I'm so happy my little island is finally getting some attention :,)
Marty & Moog this is one of your best produced specials to date!
Excellent video guys. I used to live there and actually I think that I know one of the drivers of that old 1500. When I was in Cuba I had a beautiful lada 2105. Good memories brought back.
I don’t know how there isn’t a tv series yet on Netflix you’s definitely deserve it I’ve followed you’s since you started keep it up
It's 3:30 AM here in India...been waiting just for MCM to drop this video. Maad
a few months ago, roadkill bought cheap Japanese cars and lightly modified them.
today, Mighty car mods works on getting a rusty old american car working.
You guys are such bosses!!! Thank you for continuing to make fun, educational and interesting videos!!! So fun!
WTF people! You were literally on the corner of my house! Occidental Miramar where you saw the Suzuki/Jeep/Kia(sportage). I love this video, you guys nailed it! I've been watching MCM for a while now and this was suggested to me. Havana is my city, and their people are worth more than money can buy. Glad you guys went and experience the Cuban heat! ❤ 🚗
Try driving here in the Philippines Moog and Marty. Check it out here soon.
Excellent work guys!!! Way to immerse yourself in the local car culture and give the viewers a savory taste of the experience. That Bel Air appears to be one of the best looking cars on the road there, nice choice.
This was such a blast to watch. You could have done a two hour documentary like this and every second would be enjoyable.
AWESOME!! have been obsessed with f&f8 lately
You guys are just the best! Cuba? I so want to go there and you've given me even more reason to. Props for showing us one of the most amazing car cultures in the world!
Guys, this was amazing. Seriously, you've spoiled us and this doco is the best view of Cuba I've ever seen. Mad.
winter Drift competitions on ladas now very popular in Russia)
Well this is a surprise, I Had NO idea you guys went to Cuba!
by far one of the best car shows on tv/interweb atm.
keep up the good work
Hello Mighty Car Mods First of all sorry for mine english i am from Cuba and i am living in spain so i dont have a good level jajaja.I wanted give to you thanks for do video in Cuba , I follow yours videos and i never imagened your going to visit cuba .If i knew it i would take plane to see you guys .My family never have a car when i born there but im a petrolhead from the i born jajaj.I really enjoy this video in spite of the distance ,because i lived in canary island, i feel was in cuba again with mine firts car culture .I hope learn all abaout the car culture of the world and back to cuba and show to mine people how is the car culture in the world.Again thanks for your videos ,thanks for this video and continue doing your incredible job. Thanks guays
Stuff like resourcefulness, no spare parts, jungle mechanics, "keeping ageing cars on roads" reminds me of that old Aussie series called Bush mechanics.
Sweet!!
I love these trip episodes!
Ever since I read motor world by Jeremy clarkson, I've always wanted to visit Cuba!
I spent 2 years in Brazil, it'd be a good addition to my channel to go film a mini doc like this of the awesome car culture there!
It's mainly vw and tons of speakers! Lol
the VW and tons of speakers are the scums, they are bunch of idiots trying to look cool in a certain group (they live only for the look) we have some interesting car and we do have too a proper car culture, which is growing faster than ever
Leonardo Vargas you get that group of people in every modified car scene. As much as I wouldn't do it, I still want a little gol quadrado and a saveiro surf!
just don't drop your car to the ground or tons of speakers that makes your heavier than a suv hahaha I hope I will someday own a Gol or Saveiro Quadrado, and do a front grill swap to make it look like a golf mk1
Keep on going, great special ! It's so much fun to watch your stories.
Great editing and pictures. Everyone always comments on content which is great too. However I really think that part of your popularity are the visuals and of course the music. Great job! You are almost up there with the Grand Tours and Top Gears of the pro TV.
you guys make the cooolest documentarys ever!!!!!!!
Good night from The Netherlands!
As an American with Cuban Roots, I found this video stellar! Well laid out and informative, properly capturing the Cuban scene as it is. Props to your cameraman for them spicy shots, keeping me engaged.
Thank you for sharing! Cheers from Dallas, Texas! 🤠
I am Cuban and I would just like to say thank you. My Uncle owns a work shop and taxi in Havana and this was so special for me to see. Everything you said was spot on. I would also like to point out that the type of mods/cars you see outside Havana is vastly different. A lot more Jeeps and frankensteins as you call it as the roads are as good. Anyways thanks if either of you see this.
This full length feature from our boys at MCM literally makes me feel like a terrible western consumer and makes me want to visit Cuba.
Ребята! приезжайте в Россию)) мы вас очень ждем!) Проедьте от Владивостока До Санкт-Питербурга)
You guys always put a smile on my face. Thank you, keep up the good work.
Love being able to experience these travel episodes with you guys even if it's just through a computer screen!
we are waiting for you in Russia. Siberia, Krasnoyarsk.
If you listen carefully at 9:12 you can hear a turbo flutter.
Its not a turbo flutter, its the fiat nikki and it making noises as its driving. Metal squeeky noise, NOT flutter.
MyMIXmedia, Thanks for clearing that up... I don't think anybody would've known without your input! >_>
Ah, thanks for the clarification. For a moment, I thought that thing was pushing 30 psi.
The guy helping you around cuba seemed really cool. Thanks for this vid. Made me happy!
I really love this episode. Got to see real old and beautiful cars. Cuban ingenuity and love. Great job guys.
A Fiat 126p "Polski" was my first one. Such a lovely little rustbox.
Boys. I have to say, this is your best video yet. Informative and beautifully filmed. 👍
Thank you, guys, I was grinning from ear to ear all the way through this episode! I am Cuban and I am delighted that you had such a blast over there! You're right, nobody does car mods like Cubans do! 😂
Hi, just my 2cent: 'Lada' narrated at ~2:10 is a Moskvich 2140. Russian but not Lada.
About 25 years ago my father had the same car and the same color, I learned to drive it
finally latinoamerica !!!! cheers from chileeeeeee, marty and moog!!!!!!!!
im surprised this doesnt have more views honestly. when i originally watched fast 8, i was thinking there was going to be more about cuba. not just 5 minutes. the fact that you guys went there to explore deeper into their car culture with a couple videos means alot.
chaps, your videos just keep going from great to greater! fantastic, thank you!
I love Fiat Polski ❤️
It's actually "Polski Fiat" - means Polish Fiat. Fiat 126. Too bad they were driving some broken scrap instead of working car :) In Poland they are popular in rallying - small, easy to fix, cost nothing if you crash into some tree :)
"cost nothing if you crash into some tree". Yeah, especially because the crumple zone ends on engine. And it's placed in the back xD
That depends on what speed you crash in. Sometimes it will just end on the fuel cap :]
u genuinely risked your life driving these death traps LOL
if they crash in these rust boxes held together by duct tape no question they are dead a rusty pipe will go straight into ur neck RIP
Really good video guys! I love the documentary style! You should definitely get more of these going. Mini series!
Being a Gear head myself and Cuban living in the USA. Thank you so much for sharing this!!! at least to me it means a lot!!!
That one guy has a show on history called Cuban cars check it out was pretty good show
there were two guys from the show, the one guy on the interview but also the one mechanic :)
8:58 Oh man, you don't need a seat belt when your copilot has his arm around your back
awesome video mcm I hope u enjoyed ur visit to my country is bad but is good at the same time keep up the videos that u guys do they are the best
Awesome Job guys. Your production value and quality is so high. Amazing. Would expect to see this on Discovery Channel in states.
Moog way of saying "Fiat" is adorable. Also if you are higher than 160cm you drive "Maluch" from the back seat.
SZCZERZO KŁY its not so bad iam 172cm end was ok for my that was my first car
@@dragon1985ism I m abot 6 ft , and will fit and drive a few times in Italy, looks like guys never drive japanese small cars or brits roadsters ,
I'm glad you guys went to my country I'm so excited to this episode of mighty car mods this is a shocker episode I loved the Japan episode and now this one is my new favorite..
Very nice video guys ! Really loved the atmosphere in it
Came for the video
Stayed for the '55 bel air
This place is the motherload of 'my crap car', and I like every last one of them.
I think might car mods should do car scenes of more countries around the world, just to see the diversity
Another brilliant production ;-) Setting the indie bar at a new level with every release!!
Bet this video blows up and gets tons of views 👍🏻 keep it up guys! 🏁🏎️🚘
Tjaden Stevens thought thats a given with a 2 million subscriber count channel
I've never thougt I'll see a car like Polski Fiat on MCM. Don't want to be a smart ass but in Poland we call this car a Polski Fiat 126p or maluch. This car was based on a Fiat 500. It had a 56secs to 100km/h 😁
Łęgowski Przemysław You're not even remotely smart. This is not Poland, this is Cuba. Its called a Polski in Cuba. Just like a Kia is called a piece of shit in NA
Really good production quality guys, keep up the awesome work!
Enjoyed it very much and it’s just amazing how they can improvise and keep going.
That's an utopian car culture. Now, everywhere if they crash the bumper, headlight or something they write it off as totaled :(
It`s Fiat 126p :) Greetings from Poland. It was my first car. :)
You are so brave guys. I born and live in Cuba for 40 years then I emigrated to Canada in 2002. My dad first owned a Chevrolet Impala when I was little, then a Ford Consul and 10 years ago he sold it and bought a Polski but honestly I don't have the courage to get in that tiny car and neither to drive it. As a Cuban I love antique cars, it's part of our culture, is rare to find a Cuba who doesn't like them. I'm so proud of my people in Cuba, they're so creative, friendly and strong. Amazing and funny video!. Thank you!
Wow, great video guys. What an interesting place that is- I really enjoyed watching that. Must have been an great experience.
That "Fiat Polski" is a Polish car Fiat 126p also known in Poland as "Maluch"
Each year we like to pack our bags, and cameras, and travel somewhere in the world to get an understanding of different car cultures and scenes.
For this special episode, we head to the other side of the planet to check out some of the incredible cars in Cuba. In this documentary, we meet the locals, work with some mechanics, and of course drive some crazy cars.
It certainly was an incredible experience, and gives you a totally different understanding of what it means to modify cars.
This has been a huge project for us, so we hope you enjoy The Cars of Cuba!
Yes! Yes! YES!
Wonderful job MCM! I love the work you guys put into the show! Real quality material!!!
Please keep it up and never stop!
Mighty Car Mods come to Miami. You guys won't be disappointed.
Mighty Car Mods Go to Peru there is alot of seemingly unbelievable mod tastes that are too good to miss.
Mighty Car Mods love the work you guys do! Hope to one day come to the great down under!!!!
