This video was SO helpful! I just got my camera back from repair and all of the settings had been wiped, so you assisted me in putting them back in place again. Much appreciate it! :-)
On my previous Nikon D5300, I could browse images using the wheel, along with the navipad, in the playback view. And this seemed to be practical sometimes However, on my Nikon 7100 this option does not seem to be the default setting. How can I get the camera to use the back wheel for browsing the images?
On the D7100 and D7200 you can only use the multi selector {navipad) to scroll through the images, not sure why, possibly as you use the left and right to view the images and the up and down to show the information. Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.
Hi, I got this Camera not long ago and i was just wondering what sd card to buy, i tried to look for the one that you have but when i searched it on amazon on the sand disk page it had the number 3 on it instead of the one. Would this still work with my camera?
Hi Random Vids, the number on the SD card relates to it's write speed. The higher the number the faster the speed. The SD cards with 3 are ideal for shooting video but also great for stills photography. All of the Sandisk SD card are great I usually use the Extreme Pro version. Thank you for watching, stay safe, Dave.
I am dyslexia and find it hard to register. Words numbers. And so you have helped a lot..thanks.what are the best lens for the nikon D. 7 100.? Street .architecture. fashion. Photography? What about a dyslexia camera. For people. .like me. We're my brain delates Words numbers. And dosent. Register.
Hi Anthony, I am really glad the video was useful. Photography can be difficult enough even without dyslexia. For the lens I would look for a 24-70mm or similar, that would cover a lot of photo types. Sigma and Tamron make lenses for Nikon that are great and a lot cheaper. Thank you for watching, stay safe, Dave.
@@ThePhotoShow thank you .wish camrea staff were like you. In shops like there doing you a favor. Coming in to there shop to buy. Something. Like there not bothered? If you buy something. It like this in most shops now. No wonder public go on line. They forget your keeping them in a job.?
Paul Sykes Hi, the dial is to lock the Multiselector to prevent you changing settings, like the focus point, when the camera is up to you eye. The white dot is unlocked and the L is locked.
Hi Ari, it really depends on few factors, the D7200 is an APSC crop sensor where as the 5D MkIII is a full size sensor, this would allow for more detail and dynamic range. Another thing to consider is do you already use Nikon or Canon? As already owning lenses for either could sway the decision. Both cameras take excellent photos as long as the settings are correct. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.
Hi Dave . Thanks for replying to my comment. I alredy have a Nikon D 7200 with lens 18-140. But this lens doesnt allows me to take very beautiful photos in nature , Im looking for a lens with witch i can make beautiful photos in nature . Can you suggest me one ? Thank you
Hi Ari, there are a lot great lenses for wildlife photography it can really depend on budget. The Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G VR is a good option at the lower price end then there is Nikon's 70-200mm f2.8 which is more expensive. As well as Nikon lens both Sigma and Tamron have a range that fits Nikon cameras and are less expensive. Good luck, Dave.
Dave! You're not going to believe this. I went out today and bought a D7100! I just wanted to let you know it was all your fault. :) Also I have exactly the same SD card :)
I sort of accidentally ran the battery down... Twice... In one day... Suffice it to say I am enjoying the shit out of it :) Thanks again brother, this just goes to prove that peer pressure is not as bad as everyone remembers it to be! Also, don't take this as my proverbial tongue up your ass, but I see that you reply to as many viewers as you can. Please, if you ever become a massive celebrity on TH-cam, don't change that.
Glad you're enjoying the camera, spare batteries are fairly cheap these days. If the channel ever gets big I'll keep replying, it's half the fun. All the best, Dave.
Hi Chippy, I usually have two batteries, one in the camera and one fully charged in my bag. I swap them over and re-charge when it is 3/4 drained. With them being lithium batteries it does not really matter when you charge them, just whatever you feel most confident with. Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.
This really is a basic setup video - I guess the clue was in the title, but this wasn't quite as useful as your tutorial part 1 as you had a bit of a habit of skipping over some of the more complex features either by saying I don't need that or I don't know what that does - hopefully your next video will cover some of those in greater depth - if you have just taken your d7100 out of the box this will get you up and running :)
Should be called "Watch me learn the menu's for the first time while i think out loud".. poor standard and should have be better prepared. Waste of time wasting him fumble along when there are far more production videos to watch. Rated: 'Novice' presenter.
Thank you for wasting more of your obviously valuable time posting a comment. The great thing about TH-cam is that you are free to watch or indeed not watch whatever you like. Thank you for wasting your time, have fun, Dave.
Thanks so much! This was a very helpful tutorial for my new 3 week new Nikon that I'm still learning, cheers!
