Code 00591, Mk5 Golf GTI Seat Belt Switch Replacement (Jetta, Beetle)

In this video I am addressing fault Code 00591 on my MK5 Golf GTI, Seat Belt Switch Replacement. The seat belt switch I am replacing on my MK5 GTI is on the driver side. This procedure is the same on a few different Volkswagen platforms including the VW Jetta as well as the VW Beetle. I hope you enjoy it, Cheers!

Was that a smart phone car sensor you plugged in to clear it?

Thnx man. I took mine to 3 different garages and they just clear the faul but it comes back again few weeks later. Replacing the switch at home was the solution. Thanx again.

Will the airbag light extinguish on its own after the buckle replacement or is the scanner/reset required?

That is a good question. In my experience, a scanner/reset is required.
