@@danielaguirre5897 nope, no programming was required. Now the company I purchased it from may have done some programming. They asked for the S/N on the original ECU and for the cars VIN.

@@AAFlight11 yes they are the same outer diameter but they are different. The inner diameter is larger on the exhaust seals.

@@aleemrahim6846 that’s odd! Can’t say I have heard of this before. No lights, or codes coming up? Maybe try disconnecting the battery for a while and see if it clears out any gremlins.

@@farhanfarooq8666 because everything worked as it should except for the fuel injectors. To my knowledge the ECU is the only thing that controls the injectors. The car fired up immediately once the ECU was changed out. But the BCM can also be faulty causing similar faults. Something about the early NATS systems having a lot of issues. That’s why a lot of people end up deleting it or bypassing it. Again this is coming from the research I did leading up to changing out the ECU.

@@farhanfarooq8666 yea mine was getting fuel to the injectors but nothing was being sprayed into the cylinder.

No, I did not have this issue. Mine would just turn over and over and over and not start up. The ECU was fried for some reason. Replaced that and she started right up, no issues afterward.

@@AdrianBilladeau mine too will just keep cranking. But if I disconnect the terminals from the battery and, kill off any left over power in the car then re connect the terminals to the battery, my car will start and run fine. But if I shut the car off and go to start it, the problem returns. I got my battery and alternator checked which they said were completely fine… so that leads me to believe I have an ecu problem

The sti arms don’t correct the geometry for bump steer by themselves? Idk why in my brain I thought they would.

@@AdrianBilladeau I have the same kit that I’ve been hoarding for a while. Gonna be swapping sti struts onto my 18 foz and will be using sti LCAs. Was actually thinking of making a video of it

When I installed these I was in Germany and the streets were in fantastic condition. I didn’t make any adjustments there and the ride quality was nice. I have since changed them but couldn’t tell you exactly where they sit.

What an annoying problem ehh? I dropped the tank and replaced the vent valve as well as inspected every hose. Haha got everything reinstalled and the problem was still there. Checked the canister again and ended up replacing it. Problem solved… hahahaha!

Using a seal puller would be the preferred method. But I smaller flat tip screw driver would work too. But you have to be careful not to damage the “housing” area around the seal.

I used a C clamp with an attachment that fit into grooves on the piston so that I could have good pressure and twist it back in.

@@zekariaze8799 you should be able to rent the kit from a local auto parts house. I picked mine up from Amazon . It makes compressing the piston so much easier. And has attachments for several styles of piston.

Depends on the condition of it but yes you will reuse it.

I definitely do not recommend trying to cut a hole in attempt to fix it. That’s just me though. That’s amusing because so many people have told me that I should just have cut out the back side of my car to replace that fuel vent valve. I would remove any and everything possible to just replace the damaged hose. That’s all I got for ya boss. Thanks for watching and engaging. I appreciate it. Sometimes you just gotta make do. I would have much rather plastic welded it back together but I didn’t have the set up to do so. I am glad this helped out though. Thanks for watching and for engaging.

Nice! Mine turned out to be a defective charcoal canister. Glad you fixed it though. I know that this issue is a total pain to deal with.

Every job is a broken bolt away from becoming a total pain in the rear. Did you have some issues pop up doing this?

@@AdrianBilladeau Subaru part 03035 which are two small plastic bushing types were completely shot. No video mentioned this.

No. You can replace them with the motor still in the car. The radiator has to come out though.

Am man! That’s unfortunate. Where was the corrosion happening at? Lucky I have not had any codes yet. Just can’t fill up correctly. I’ve replaced everything except the charcoal canister. I have it actually just haven’t changed it out yet.

No, I never had a code pop up. I was trying to solve the issue of taking forever to fill up at the pump. Meaning I could only get in a small amount of fuel before the pump would kick off.

@@AdrianBilladeau madness yeah ive tried too buy a twin turbo manual legacy gtb with 280 bhp but unfortunately the guy was really dodgy shame that as that legacy was rapid done 60 in about 5 seconds was in colin mcraes home town too lol facebook marketplace £4400 8 owners no history lol bought my xt from facebook marketplace too 2 owners tho i used too own a 2001 SF5 s turbo forester too lost that too rust sea side Subaru.. lol

@@andrewjohnson7960 it’s hard to keep cars that have long exposure to wet, salty conditions. Hahah they need that dry western climate. But I suppose you sacrifice the clear coat and paint in the hotter dry climate.

I have replaced the solenoid, checked all lines, and dropped the tank to replace the main vent valve and mine still does not fill up correctly. The last piece to change out is the charcoal canister. I have it but have not changed it out yet. I made a video on dropping the tank. If you are wanting to save some coin I would recommend checking it out. It is honestly not that bad. There is also a little trick I have been doing to make it fill up correctly. I pull off the main vent line off , running from the tank, at the canister. Its also labeled "VENT". This allows the tank to vent properly during fill up. After I am finished I put the hose back on. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you.

@AdrianBilladeau Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, I would not know where to start when pulling off hoses. I am looking for a good mechanic in my area to take it to. I would hate to have to buy another car at this point.

On most of the older subarus the was an access cover under rear seat so the tank wouldn't need to be dropped

@@geraldross967 that access port is only for the fuel pump assembly. I order to change out the tank vent valve or anything else on top of the tank you do have to drop the tank.

Hi! Thanks for watching and for the engagement. It took approximately 3 hrs with the filming and cleaning of everything. Definitely could be done faster. I did not replace the main intake gasket and it never had any type of leak. I also did the back. It was a bit more involved but not to bad.

@@AdrianBilladeau Thanks for the feedback, I guess I will give it a go on my J30A4 V6. Just worry about some of the bolts, car is 21 years old one owner. 2003 accord v6. Don't want any to snap on me during removal..Again tnx
