Many thanks for this video. I've been wanting to change HL on my 06 TDI Jetta but did not want to remove bumper. I can finally get rid of my yellow/dull headlights!
Just replaced the HID adjustment motor on my 06 GLI. Had to remove the headlight to get access to it. That part went well, but I did have to remove the bumper cover; the trick with the screw through the bumper didn't work in my case because of the headlight washer in there on the outboard edge. If your plastic caps are a solid piece like yours are, this is a good method. If it's in two pieces, it means there's a washer under there, and you have to remove the cover anyway... But nice video.
I would trust Depo the most on the aftermarket arena. I used Vland for my MK6, looks like a good quality but throws a DRL error for no obvious reason. I could not swap to LED from Xenon, even with repining, so hopefully your car got halogen lights.
man i got a Fahrenheit aswell i got number 752 and i was just looking for a vid to fix one of my lights seems like they tried to remove it and they put it back the wrong way its tilted inwards and it bothers me 😂😂 time to get to work thanks for the video
its the whole assembly not the inside of the lights , sucks that someone replaced your original xenons i know the oem asembly goes for like 1k alone new so im trying to restore my lights and get them to sit properly
@@jorgereyes3241 Got it. There are also adjustment inlets at both bottom screw locations of each light assembly that most likely you would need to adjust, maybe just the ones on the inside. Yeah, whoever owned the car prior to me messed up the lights badly. I had to buy another set but finally got it to work. Had also to buy the bulbs, ballasts and the igniters.
@@VITALexplorer It is spoken as the ‘Mark 5 Golf’ not ‘M K 5 Golf’. From what I can gather, Volkswagen did not officially classify the 2003 5th generation Golf as the ‘Mk5’, but rather, the ‘V’, the Roman numeral for 5. This is the same convention for the Saturn V rocket, for Nasa’s Apollo lunar landing program. However, VW did adopt the more straightforward Mk7 moniker for the 2012 Golf. In Australia, and in many other jurisdictions, Xenon conversions are only road legal if there was an official factory Xenon option when a car was new, and if there is the requisite headlight washers also installed, as dirty Xenon headlights lenses are a safety issue due to dazzling. Personally, I not believe that a Mk5 Xenon upgrade is worth the bother and expense for a 2003 platform car. Just buy a newer Golf with factory LED headlights, which perhaps implies buying a 2012 Mk7… the true successor to the pivotal 2003 Mk5, which marked a resurgence for the Golf nameplate.
My nearside headlight had gone on my Edition 30, it has xenox bulbs with the igniter unit on the back, I think it is exclusive to the Edition 30 at the time
It’s the black piece with the top screws of the headlight my one is cracked a little bit and need to replace it but I don’t know the part name ? It’s the long black piece you can see it when you open the hood and the it’s where the headlight is sitting in the video in the beginning
The Fahrenheit's come stock with Xenon though don't they? I have a Fahrenheit GTI. Passenger headlight ia giving me issues. Stopped working completely. Swapped Igniter and bulb from drivers side light which is working but didnt fix it. Heard it may be a short in the BCM, have a used one on the way and gonna see if it fixes it.

the golf 5 gti was sold only with xenon light , not halogen

I installed new xenon headlights (D2S) to me Jetta Mk5 2006...The only think i did is just to buy an adapter!
R32 are save right? My came with bulb igniter. I believe this OEM for r32’s
what headlight set brand you would recommend for GOLF V GTD? Is it possible to get LED ones?

Have you tried to play with adjustments inside the fixture first? There are a couple of them.

Is good except that the GLI/GTI has the headlight washers under the headlight which makes things a little more challenging
worked a treat , biggest issue getting that stupid wire connection off.
Yes, yes
Got the same f*cking problem🤣
Didn't the mk5 gli come with hid stock... just as the same with the gti. I feel only low end se jetta and rabbit had the h7 lights.

My 07 GTi came stock with Xenon/HID lights. Using D2S bulbs. First year they offered it in the GTI I believe.
What are the inner lights called on the headlight
Flash to pass
Will it work if the car has headlights washers ? Mine does.
Can this be done on a Golf GTI mk6 2011 without removing the bumper?
Thanks

did you ever fix it?
@gerson4705 I did yes, it was the Ballast(Power supply that only Xenon's have) It's mounted under the headlight assembly. Cost about $70
Hi does anybody know what the black piece is that hold the headlights together at the top ?
Fahrenheit!!🥰 what number is yours?
Как led лампы поставить вместо штатного ксенена ?
Уже поставили?Как результат?
Mine has factory bi-xenon lights and this has made me hate these cars so much
Same head lights $160 on eBay
Those are regular Halogen headlights..these are Zenon HID you wont find a new pair cheaper than $400 guaranteed
Omg.. I don’t want to be rude but you sound Borat :)
