Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Monster House for the first time today! What started off as a Funny, Spooky story quickly turned into sad when you learn about Mr. Nebbercracker's life Story and what led up to these events.
No adults believe three youths' (Mitchel Musso, Spencer Locke, Sam Lerner) assertion that a neighboring residence is a living creature that means them harm. With Halloween approaching, the trio must find a way to destroy the structure before innocent trick-or-treaters meet ghastly ends.

This movie scared me so much as a kid. Fun fact: Dj is voiced by Mitchel Musso who has been in shows like Hannah Montana and Pair of kings. Also Mr Nebbercracker is voiced by Steve Buscemi who voiced Randall in Monsters inc.
And Mitchel Musso voices Jeremy Johnson from Phineas and Ferb

Fun fact: Dj and Chowder had some bullies and they were gonna lure them to get eaten by the house but they removed the scene cause it was too dark for children

If you listen closely, you could hear Nebbercracker say "Stay away from her" right before he got his heart attack
This movie is an instant Halloween favorite. Also, Monster House and ParaNorman are different animation styles, but they look almost identical.
Monster House is motion capture and ParaNorman is stop motion
I remember watching this and never stepping a foot in my grandparents' house for a few months 😂😂😂
Paranorman has actually the same animation style of Wallace and Gromit (stop motion). This one is made in motion capture, the same technique used for gollum in LOTR or other visual effects in live action movies, except all the movie is done like that

The reason I have been backing away from your channel a little bit is because nearly every live-action movie you've reacted to, I still haven't seen. With animated movies, I have a LONG head start so I'm always happy to watch those

This movie is so underrated. It’s animation may be pretty awful, but it’s humor, creativity, and story really balance it out.
I think the awful animation just adds to the creepiness factor though, so for this movie specifically, I love it.

Fun fact: Back in production they originally planned the inside of the house to look like the insides of a human being whenever the house started acting in its own.

Yess, absolute favorite halloween movie of mine! That and Paranorman, which I also highly recommend for this spooky season. Great reaction as always!
Just to clear things up, since I don't really see any other comments mentioning it right now and it is easy to mix up with the way this movie was animated, but Monster House is CG
pretty sure it was intentional that its style was reminiscent of stop motion, but it is computer animated, whereas movies like ParaNorman and Nightmare before Christmas are Stop Motion, meaning they were animated using physical puppets and sets
Since it can be pretty easy to confuse some CG movies like this with Stop Motion movies (especially more modern ones) I love that Laika always adds in a little snippet at the end of their movies (usually at the end of the credits) that shows some of their stop motion making progress to make it clear that what you just watched really are little puppets that were moved one frame at a time (I especially love how they showed this in the clip at the end of Boxtrolls with the puppets literally talking about it while you can see them being moved)
Btw, Laika's movies are all stop motion and include: Coraline, ParaNorman, Boxtrolls, Kubo And The Two Strings and Mister Link, all of which are definitely worth checking out ^^
Eeek! This is one of my favorite movies! It's so underrated, and creative, and creepy, and hilarious! I can't wait to watch this! (And yes, just based on your video title, I agree, I fuckin' love Chowder too!)

It has the same creepy vibe as this one, but with an underdog feel to it, mostly cause the skeleton protagonist is a little oblivious to the harm he causes others.😅

After Coraline, this was the 2nd scariest animated movie growing up for me. The traumatic experiences I had, especially with the old man still gets to me. It's a good movie now though👍
I remember renting this movie on a whim once just because I'd barely seen anything about it leading up to it's release and I loved it! It was so much better than I expected and I immediately went out and bought it after that just so I could show it to my friends.
That little girl’s response to DJ saying that he had to blow up Mr. Nebbercracker’s house was so cute. She seems curious but confused at the same time.

Man I used to watch this movie all the time when I was little and somehow never got scared of the house. This is a nostalgic movie that I always watch every October. Also the animation was used with Motion capture.
I watched this a long time ago and it’s great
God, this movie is an ultimate Halloween TRADITION for me. Not a single year goes by where I don't watch this movie at least once. Loved it as a kid, still love it. It's like Horror Lite for kids. Spooky when I was little, but never an upsetting amount, and now it's just a fun little thriller that helps me get in the spirit of Halloween. The ending is uplifting too; after going through what they did, Dj finally comes around and agrees to go trick-or-treating. It's like "What the heck, we're alive, why shouldn't we just goof off for one night?" And I love it. Just a simple little reminder that we should enjoy ourselves from time to time

Man I remember watching this movie so much when I was younger. I even had the Gameboy Advanced game for it (and still to this day I was never able to beat it... maybe one day I'll try again.) But man glad you had a great time watching it! Your shock to the backstory was so great for your total shock and everything!!
Also I am sure others have said it, but this movie was done with motion capture. I remember I used to watch the behind the scenes of thing a lot cause I was so impressed how the motion capture worked and it's crazy to think how much motion capture has improved since this movie( but that's also just me being an animation nerd).
When it’s Halloween, this is my all-ages, most-favorite, non-Disney animated film.

Aw~ this movie. I remember seeing it in theaters with my brother and we had the theater room to ourselves. It felt like seeing it in a VIP Premiere.
The Video Game for this movie is amazing and it expands on the House Big Time it’s a great experience but it is a little scary

This movie is still good to this day even, I don't care what people think, what people say, even if they give it hate, still, this movie is ngl top notch for a 2006 animated CGI film. They did an outstanding job.

I thought I watched this when it came out I was 16 at the time I thought I could see this movie even though it was an animated one I didn't know it was going to scare me or not but it did give me the creeps especially the part where DJ and send me in his room and he has that dream about the monster House coming through the window and the shadow hand just grabs and that definitely gave me the creeps.
