With the power outage thing - there's an official Disney storybook (called Disney Bedtime Favorites) with a Wreck-It Ralph story that's about the power going out in the arcade. All of the characters have to leave their games and congregate in Game Central Station to wait it out, but they aren't in any danger as long as they do that. The first step in troubleshooting a situation where a computer glitches out is to power cycle it - that's why Windows automatically resets after you hit a blue screen of death. If Mr. Litwak had NO suspicion WHATSOEVER about his machines, his first action would be to pull the Fix-It Felix Jr. game's plug and plug it back in to see if that cleared up the glitch.
I don't think he instantly unplugged the machines when Turbo moved games. It's just how it was edited to show the important stuff. If it was instant, Turbo wouldn't have been able to escape before the game was unplugged

I think when he unplugged Sugar Rush, it was a similar situation with Turbo in which there was no way to save the game, with Turbo practically destroying TurboTime and RoadBlasters internally and with Sugar Rush having it's steering wheel broken and being too expensive to fix whereas if a character goes missing like with what happened to Fix-It Felix Jr, then he's probably gonna leave it plugged in in case the character returns
Given that the Sugar Rush roster rotates daily, Litwak probably just thought that King Candy was a racer that was winning more often and that Vanaloppe was struggling to make the roster
And unknowingly it was because king candy/turbo was purposely keeping her out of the race even brainwashed everyone in the game to treat her like garbage and say thangs like she isn't ment to exist
With the Sugar Rush King Candy thing, it does say that "New Racers Daily" so King Candy could just be assumed to be a new character, while Penelope (less believable) was removed to make space for other new characters, or they cycle her in and out.
I think the reason King Kandy was able to exist along with the disapperance of penillope is the roster of 9 character the arcade sugar rush has. He could've chopped it up to just "unlucky rotations".
Turbo apparently took over Sugar Rush the night it was installed so Mr. Litwak would have no idea about the 'true' roster. As for not realizing Vanellopw never appears despite being on the game cabinet, she could have been a dummies asset removed late in development (afyer the cabinet designs were already in production). Arcade developers also released different software updates and sometimes entire machines to small groups of arcades to test their market interest before spending the money to do a mass upgrade or distribution, so it's also conceivable to think the Sugar Rush cabinet on this particular arcade was a newer upgrade being market tested.
I love how this theory video has wholesome music whilst a bunch of other theory videos are like "the world is doomed because this so-and-so one character knows everything"
The Surge Protector character looks a whole lot like Mr. Litwack, and from Tron we learn that programs look like their programmer. And both are Disney movies. It's actually possible that in this universe, arcade owners are aware their game characters are alive. Mr. Litwack may already know to keep an eye out for his characters and make sure they don't crash other games. And I always felt that Turbo took over Sugar Rush so fast that when when it was booted up, he had already installed himself as King Candy. He was homeless in the power strip for decades and probably tried a few times to take over a game. It glitched out and got unplugged without revealing Turbo. So he got the Konami code, figured out how to change the gane code, perhaps by game hopping into existing games without giving himself away, and the finally put together a plan to take over and insert himself into a new gane when it was brought into the arcade. And that's assuming that King Candy was not already an existing character that Turbo killed or exiled to the power strip. He could have been a tutorial character or a score keeper who was Vanellope's father.
you ever think about how in the wreck it ralph universe there’s probably SO MANY urban legends about litwak’s arcade in specific just because of all the weird shit that has gone down with the games?
This also means that hypothetically, within the Wreck-It-Ralph universe, the Polybius arcade machine exists (and because of the "curse", it presumably got unplugged permanently).
while i do think the characters are extremely lucky to have Mr. Litwick as their arcade manager, i dont think he could've coded the surge protector. he has trouble just getting the internet router up for his computer. if he has trouble with that i doubt he could make near sentient code.
Thank you for making me care about Mr. Litwak so much! I think I have a new favorite minor, possibly just main favorite WIR character in general. And if someone asks me why I will gladly send them this video! ❤❤❤
Also I saw another video theory that states that King Candy was a fully separate character from Turbo in the game. It would explain why Mr. Litwak doesn’t bat a eye towards King Candy and just assumed one of his customers unlocked him as a secret character similar to those “How to unlock Luigi in Super Mario 64” type videos. I don’t remember the exact channel I watched it from but maybe you should look into that.
It’s definitely as interesting theory, but I personally think Mr. Litwak is just emotionally attached to the games. Especially since some of these games have been around for a WHILE (namely Fix-It-Felix Jr. It’s 30 years old so to say he’d be sad to see it go isn’t crazy). Some people just more sentimental than others and I think that’s what the directors wanted to communicate. But the idea of him knowing is neat (though if that were the case, I don’t know why he’d immediately assume they were alive and not something more logical).
Plot twist, the arcade where the story takes place, is where arcade manufacturers send the prototype arcade machines for testing. And it's this decades long experiment to see if living AI would be marketable to the general public I mean, for all we know there's only 1 Fix it Felix JR. machine
Mr. Litwack has a contract with some company or government agency to take in any anomalous arcade cabinets and watch over them. If there are any serious problems, they get unplugged and taken away to be destroyed. Minor glitches such as characters disappearing or swapping usually lead to termination depending on how broken the game becomes. He knows that the characters might be sentient, but he doesn't know they can get out of the game and into the power strip.
For Mr. Litwak to know this he would have to have seen something years ago and enough times to pick up on this. There's also the sequel to take into account.
I just wanna point out that he owned the arcade for 30 years. 3 decades. How hasn't he noticed somethings strange over that time? Edit: I just saw he mentioned this
Regarding the question about power outages- Maybe Mr. Litwak uses a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)? It seems highly unlikely that his Arcade has been running with 100% uptime for over 30 years...
I was in a mall when the mall almost close, i saw the workers in the arcade close all electricity including the arcades and still works fine other days later 😂
It is said that ona reddit ama turbo hijacked sugar rush as soon as it was hooked in. Not even letting venelope attend a race once. So in his eyes candy king was a character in roster and venelope not being there was not a problem
1:48 I'd argue that he probably had no idea at this point in time. Maybe he pondered at the thought after this. Like, maybe he didn't think much of it, then he went to bed that night, he was probably like "Wait a second, why was that character in that game for? Easter egg? Or...?" There could be a possibility that he had cameras in the building, and maybe he watched them a night after that, and saw characters such as Sonic, Mario, what not, inside games like Wreck It Ralph, and Sugar Rush. He probably didn't want to disturb anything, and kept his distance after that. I havent watched the rest of the video, so if you talked about this I'm sorry lol
Mh, it makes sense! If an issue arises with any electronic really most people would just "pull the plug and plug it in again" as one of the first trouble shooting attempt as that sometimes is enough to "reset" the game. That he didn't do that and just gives the characters time to fix the issue themselves or escape a broken game, already tells he knows *something.* - I feel like if the game is unplugged, the character don't actually "die" die, but they are completely reset. I suppose in a way it's like dying for the characters as they are brought back to "default settings" in a way. And he wouldn't want that, especially if the characters have been living their lives for 30 something years.
a surge protector is a built in feature of a power strip. it’s one of the main uses for having power strip. never plug your PC into the wall, always a power strip.
I feel that him just keeping the arcades on is just a mistake that the animators made so they have a setting because without it then like what’s the movie with them being off OR the arcades are off and still operate when the characters are in it but just die when the plug is pulled but idk
I really like this theory it's very interesting and has merit. But at the same time, he could just as easily not know but still have a close bond with each game, especially if they were there for a while, and it's clearly shown he's worked there for a long time. I say this as someone who "pack bonds" and treats inanimate or insentient things with care and respect as if they are sentient; such as plushies, smart devices, electronics, characters in my video games (like Litwak would be doing), etc. I even once had a water balloon with a face drawn on it for a long time that I named. Again, love the theory and the idea, and I'm not trying to dissuade anything, just point out another plausible alternative.
I mean there's also the possibility that king candy was an existing character in suggestion that's why mr litwak didn't bat an eye at him being a playable character
One thing that kind of debunks this theory is in the second movie Litwak goes and immediately unplugs sugar rush giving no time for the sugar rush Characters to escape
1:09 I mean.... no? From what the people see on the screen, it just looks like a glitch. THis could be caused by many things. Bad ram chips. Bad rom chips. Software bugs. Corrupted data. Heck, sometimes it's just due to the programers not putting in a limit to score or other variables since you're never supposed to get that far (Pac-Man famously has this). There was nothing there to indicate that Litwak saw anything about Turbo being in the new game, it was a mess of glitched out video when Litwak got there.
cool tgeory and i loke the evidence but the focus on this specific place being special doesnt make sense, it seems all video game characters are like this, even online games
Now with AI as an outcome and it being more expanded in recent time , I can see him knowing everything to an extent. Indirectly, he could've just developed a networking of code that turned into AI
King candy was a character from the original sugar rush, he has a very large section of code, so it makes sense why Litwak wouldn't be suspicious of his presence. Also. another thing that didn't make sense to me was why Vanellope kept glitching after the game was reset. Her code was plugged back in, she shouldn't still be able to do that
Because I think it's because she's been glitching for years and when she finally had her code reset it didn't reset fully and it kept her glitch powers
Actually all arcades in the world well in that world. At least have sentient characters in them. This is proven in the second movie because they go into the cloud and all the characters in those games are sentient too. Also you said that when all the homeless characters came into Wreck-It Ralph's game, the manager would probably think it was a bug but when turbo went into the other game you said that arcade machine should not have malfunctions like that
Wreck it Ralph is prob my second favorite Disney movie but I never thought about most of this besides the one where wreck it Ralph is gone like that just does not seem possible plus the characters are running around. Also all the Q*bert characters are basically going turbo and it is all normal. But also lastly nothing happen to Fix it Felix Jr. or Sugar Rush when Ralph and Vanellope went to the internet
This is one of my favorite movies, your theory is good but one thing I noticed, how does he know that the characters are sentient in the first place, how did he find out abt it? Also, if vanelope is a glitch, why didn’t he get a new machine of the same game, I mean, yes he knows that she’s sentient, but that would mean everyone would pick vanolpe also, the power theory is weird because can’t he just turn off the machines? I feel like instead of just unplugging it, they could turn it off, and if that’s not possible… HOW MUCH MONEY DOES THIS GUY HAVE!? How can he afford all of this???
First I think venelope is not a glitch and instead that's just her character ability and that sugar rush has unique character abilities or items Second he does have a rich guy look so i think he just keeps the machines as a hobby after seeing they are sentient
I wanna straight up know what would happen if in the next movie they travelled to other things such as console games or console games travelling to their world. Such as Kratos, Doom guy, or heck even Gordon Freeman from the PS2.
Honesty now that game theory has no matpat you’re who I watch now. It’d be sick if you took a matpat like approach to it. lol you’d probably make it big
Ok one part about this is that older arcades leave there machines on because when u turn one of like one that has high scores it won’t save them if the machine is tired off, it’s manly newer arcades that turn off there machines
For some reason, this theory makes Mr. Litwak seem like he's been in a video game, which makes it both cool and kind of scary. Perhaps that's why he is so knowledgeable.
One thing that I like that may support the idea of this theory is that when machines are being taken out, he watches as if he’s attending a funeral.

With the Sugar Rush King Candy thing, it does say that "New Racers Daily" so King Candy could just be assumed to be a new character, while Penelope (less believable) was removed to make space for other new characters, or they cycle her in and out.
he knows everything... like my nana!
I think the reason King Kandy was able to exist along with the disapperance of penillope is the roster of 9 character the arcade sugar rush has. He could've chopped it up to just "unlucky rotations".
Thank you for this video because I was fighting for my life on the toilet and this brought me comfort in a personal crisis
Oh yeah he definitely knows
"does he know?"
- the riddler
0:18 “tripping” lmao
This also means that hypothetically, within the Wreck-It-Ralph universe, the Polybius arcade machine exists (and because of the "curse", it presumably got unplugged permanently).
Ok that’s really interesting and could be true in my opinion
I like what you thought up, Mr. Litwak being sort of aware the characters are sentient sounds coolio.
Many power strips have Surge protectors
I don’t think getting unplugged kills the characters, it probably just knocks them out the fear is never getting plugged in again (dying)
while i do think the characters are extremely lucky to have Mr.
And it's this decades long experiment to see if living AI would be marketable to the general public
I mean, for all we know there's only 1 Fix it Felix JR. machine
Must be owned by a company called Stephen’s Cabinet Place
For Mr. Litwak to know this he would have to have seen something years ago and enough times to pick up on this.
There's also the sequel to take into account.
My theory is that King candy was an already pre existing character and Turbo replaced the original one, and posed as him.
I just wanna point out that he owned the arcade for 30 years. 3 decades. How hasn't he noticed somethings strange over that time?
Edit: I just saw he mentioned this
Mr Litwak seems like he would be the type of teacher to never give you homework.
It’s all over when Litwak unplugs the power strip that contains game central station
Then they escape into his arcade's power supply
Litwak: they are in the walls... THEY ARE IN THE GODAMN WALLS
I absolutely love Wreck it Ralph and have watched it tons of times, and this theory really makes a lot of sense!
What do they do when there’s a power outage?😂 didn’t think of that when I was a kid
disney didn't either!
Everyone evacuates and they wait it out until it’s fixed
@@mr.lizard666 thought of it too but how do they have time to do that if no power 🤷🏻♂️ the left over a be used fairly quickly
@@Rykerz_ idk when yu unplug it doesn’t instantly shut down it takes a while for the wholegame to dissapear
@@mr.lizard666 sure but they won’t make it all out in a minute if we’re pushing it 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe the arcade's power hasnt turned off due to how mr Litwak has a generator somewhere
Maybe they don't die but "Reset", losing their memories.
Very intrseting
FIRST TIME I GOT HEARTED THANK YOU
Your Theories are Genuinly gold :O
Did anyone else click on the video thinking it was William Afton from the Fnaf movie...? 💀
I love ur vids keep going! 💖
thank you so much!
hmm yeah this makes sense now, he cares so much about each arcade machine as if their his children, this is very interesting
I really like this theory~ Very well done! ^^b
Mh, it makes sense! If an issue arises with any electronic really most people would just "pull the plug and plug it in again" as one of the first trouble shooting attempt as that sometimes is enough to "reset" the game. That he didn't do that and just gives the characters time to fix the issue themselves or escape a broken game, already tells he knows *something.*
-
I feel like if the game is unplugged, the character don't actually "die" die, but they are completely reset. I suppose in a way it's like dying for the characters as they are brought back to "default settings" in a way. And he wouldn't want that, especially if the characters have been living their lives for 30 something years.
That was so nice and makes sense. Now that I think about it the Surge Protector does look like Mr Litwak.
7:49 I know man
he didnt know what “ebay” was so he probably doesn't know how to code in the surge protector
eBay is newer though.
*p o w e r i n t h e a r c a d e g o e s o u t*
Surge protector + backup battery.
U should make a big city greens video pls
I think it’s less like unplugging the machine kills them, it just makes them stop living, and plugging the machine back in brings them back
a surge protector is a built in feature of a power strip. it’s one of the main uses for having power strip. never plug your PC into the wall, always a power strip.
No. Not all power strips are surge protectors.
The Wreck It Ralph Mr Litwak Theory
Mr. Litwak knows more than we thought...
yes
I feel that him just keeping the arcades on is just a mistake that the animators made so they have a setting because without it then like what’s the movie with them being off OR the arcades are off and still operate when the characters are in it but just die when the plug is pulled but idk
I never thought about this! Very interesting. Overall, great video my guy! Keep up the good work!
Ed O'Neill (Litwak) is also known for the role of Al "4 touchdowns in 1 game" Bundy
King candy turned venollopy into glitch for like no reason so she misunderstood and that’s why she was bullied in the first place.
Okay, im pretty sure they dont actually die and mr litwak just uses it as a lesson by just getting rid of them instead of plugging it back in.
Turning it off deletes high scores
I mean there's also the possibility that king candy was an existing character in suggestion that's why mr litwak didn't bat an eye at him being a playable character
This guy sounds like ryan renolds. Thought he was deadpool for a sec
There are 2 sugger rush machines. Which could imply that right next door is a normal functioning machine with vanaloppe as the rightful princess.
I would argue with twin cabinets, and to explain the move, is that there are two consoles, but they basically share a camera.
One thing that kind of debunks this theory is in the second movie Litwak goes and immediately unplugs sugar rush giving no time for the sugar rush Characters to escape
The whole Unplugged = Death thing never made much sense to me, simply because what if it was plugged back in again. What happens then?
Cool thumbnail
thank you!
Im just gonna try n point this out i might be wrong, but power strips are surge protectors its part of the device itself.
cool tgeory and i loke the evidence but the focus on this specific place being special doesnt make sense, it seems all video game characters are like this, even online games
@@tobyzilla2.074 That makes sense, but it makes the story feel incomplete
Also when he closes the arcade he always leave the arcade machines on
Or maybe he did think something else like turbo was 2D 8bits but in sugar rush looks different 3D HD
First I think venelope is not a glitch and instead that's just her character ability and that sugar rush has unique character abilities or items
Second he does have a rich guy look so i think he just keeps the machines as a hobby after seeing they are sentient
Interesting detail.
What editing software do you use ❤
i use adobe premiere!
@@maximoesco I recommend adopting Davinci resolve if you know you don’t want your content stolen or paying a stupid price per month
I wanna straight up know what would happen if in the next movie they travelled to other things such as console games or console games travelling to their world. Such as Kratos, Doom guy, or heck even Gordon Freeman from the PS2.
I need a fan animation that looks exactly like the movie doing that but Gordon just moves like a source character
Honesty now that game theory has no matpat you’re who I watch now. It’d be sick if you took a matpat like approach to it. lol you’d probably make it big
1:41
1:55 he cares about them🥺
Ok one part about this is that older arcades leave there machines on because when u turn one of like one that has high scores it won’t save them if the machine is tired off, it’s manly newer arcades that turn off there machines
Another thing that’s weird is that between the two movies Mr Litwak’s name changes
In the first movie his name was Stan but in the second it’s Del
you dont code a power strip my man
For some reason, this theory makes Mr. Litwak seem like he's been in a video game, which makes it both cool and kind of scary. Perhaps that's why he is so knowledgeable.
Crazy
His name sounds like {Nintendo} made it.
cool theory if we just stick to the first movie
I just realized he looks like the person
