Thanks for checking out Band Maid ! They make you smile or make you cry, sometimes both ! But mainly smile :) I would highly suggest you watch the official live version of 'Domination' next from the same concert as Freedom. Enjoy !!
This year is their ten year anniversary. From the first song to the last. Band Maid just keep evolving and doing what great bands do. Look to have fun on stage and make their fans, old, young, new and veteran enjoy the ride. I am old but love listening to this band and they are the first band I have smiled, laughed, cried at their songs. Most of their songs have lyrics available on line somewhere. But you are right about the vibe. They should be made a medicinal miracle. Just so happy watching and listening to them.
Now you have seen their "Happy" song, so you need to watch their most grab you by the hair song, "Domination" the live version from the same concert as this video. Also Play, again from the same concert, and you will be hooked to these young Ladies for life. And I had to edit and add this because I forgot. This is the first part of an information file I post to new reactors to Band-Maid. I have to split it up to bypass the YT filters. Welcome to the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND IN THE WORLD!!!! 98% of their songs are best viewed LIVE. There are a few where the MV is better until the Ladies release a new LIVE version of those songs. Of which "Warning" is one. Car chases, explosions, beautiful women and Hard Rock, it is all in there. There are one or two others, but those are debated heavily between us Maidiacs. You will find that Band Maid has an EXTREMELY Loyal and Protective as well as Supportive Fan Base. We call ourselves Maidiacs (Maid EE Acts). Many of us are on the Band Maid Fans Discord, and we will search out new reactions to Our Ladies music, daily, sometimes hourly. 😁 Band Maid Is; (In order of joining band) Name/Age: Nickname: Position: Miku Kobato Small Pigeon/ Band Founder, Secondary Lead Vocalist, Rhythm Guitarist, Main Lyricist, Age: 31 Koba/Kuruppo/ Backing Vocals, Backing Tracks, Arrangements 10/21/91 Cluppo Kanami Tono Princess/ Lead Guitarist, Primary Composer, Backing Vocals, Keyboards, Backing Tracks Age: 31 Kanamincho/ Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Arrangements 9/28/91 Mincho Akane Hirose Gorilla/ Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Backing Tracks, Age: 32 Ah-Chan Arrangements 12/14/90 MISA Barefoot Assassin/ 5 String Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals on Backing Tracks, Backing Tracks Age: 30 MISA-MISA-MISA Arrangements 10/15/92 Saiki Atsumi Ice Queen/ Primary Lead Vocalist, Backing Vocals, Lyricist, Backing Vocals on Backing Age: 29 Sai-Chan/ Tracks, Backing tracks, Arrangements 2/8/94 Sensei (Teacher) For the rest of the file if someone would post a reply, I can post the remainder as a reply to their comment.
@@80mtn Thankee for the reply. Here is the rest of the file. Band Maid was started in 2013 by Miku Kobato. At the time she had just left the Idol Group, Lil Cumin and she didn't like the type of music she had been performing. She approached her management agency with the idea of making an actual band playing rock music but dressed as maids. She had worked in a Maid Cafe and thought the image of maids playing rockin music would create what she called "The Gap" between what you see and what you hear. The Management company was like Ok, go ahead. Miku then looked around and found Kanami a singer/songwriter who was posting her own videos on the internet. Miku had her agency contact her and Kanami thought the idea was cool and agreed to join. Miku then asked if Kanami knew a drummer who might be interested. Kanami had worked with Akane in the past and there is 2 versions of this, the first is, Kanami literally walked over to Akane's apartment and asked her, the second is Kanami called Akane and asked her. (Akane has said in 2 different interviews that 1: Kanami called her and asked if she could come over and 2: in a second interview Kanami just came over) Akane was actually hesitant as she had worked in an "All Girl Group" before and didn't enjoy it as it wasn't the type of music she wanted to play. After hearing a Demo, Akane was like ok, but was still slightly hesitant because of the "Maid Outfits", but she agreed to give it a try. Akane was asked if she knew a bass player and she had gone to Tokyo School of Music with MISA and had worked a couple of jobs with her. So Misa was contacted and after she heard a demo she was like I like the music, but she also was hesitant about the "Maid Outfits", but she relented and joined in as she really wanted to play the kind of music she heard in the demo. The 3 of them then "Auditioned" for the record company and passed the audition. Now we have the "Core" members. The 4 members worked out some songs provided for them by the record company, and a setlist and they had performed 3 times with just Miku on main vocals. Miku after those performances felt that her voice wasn't powerful enough to really perform the songs she wanted. So she approached her management company again and asked if they had any singers who weren't in other projects. They then auditioned several singers. Miku heard Saiki rehearsing in a room across the hall and asked if she could be auditioned, the record company then had Saiki audition. Saiki was signed to the same management company and had done some work as a backup singer and dancer and was asked if she would be interested in auditioning for this new group which currently had 4 members and she would be the fifth. She had been a member of a group with 8 other people as a backup singer and dancer, and HATED it. So she listened to the demo and thought "Cool" because she liked the music. Now we come to the tricky part. Miku KNEW that if Saiki was told about the "Maid Outfits" she would say NO WAY!, so they didn't tell her. They told her they would have "Cool/cute Clothes"(I've read it translated either way), and she never met Miku until a few days before they had a contracted performance. She wasn't told about the "Maid Outfits" until the day before the performance, and she had considered backing out, but she had signed the contract. (Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well) So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing. She DIDN'T like the apron she wore so it got ditched after the first performance. And you now have the beginnings of the BEST LIVE HARD ROCK BAND in the WORLD! ALL HAIL BAND MAID!!!!! Now that we have the Full band, it was felt that there needed to be a second guitar. Saiki was like, "Not Me, No Way." So Miku said, "I'll do it.", at first that was literally all she did, was hold the guitar and mime playing it, until Akane said, if you are going to hold it, you NEED to learn to play it. And Miku said, "Ok.", and Kanami started to teach Miku how to play. The Ladies released their first album in 2014 "Maid in Japan" which failed to chart, but later after "Thrill" it was reissued and charted to #26 in Japan.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning" On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"... The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited) This became the seminal moment of Band Maid. Because their second album charted at #64, the record company was seriously considering disbanding the Ladies and switching them to other projects. (In fact they had Kanami and Akane work with Mochi to Cheese thinking that when Band Maid cratered they could use them in another band. MISA had also just started working with Mochi to Cheese as well). However about 6 months after the video's release, a Facebook page "JRock Radio" posted the video to their timeline. And the video went viral. Having over a million views in just a few short weeks. The Ladies Twitter page got so many hits they thought their page had been hacked. Their TH-cam channel also started getting more and more subscribers and views to Thrill. Now the ladies knew where their fans wanted them to go. Harder Rock, less pop. And history was Maid. If you have any questions about the Ladies, please feel free to ask. There are many of us who would be glad to enlighten you or anyone else.
@@greylocke100 Thanks! The other day I posted Saiki's speech from right before "About Us" on somebodies channel and I thought THAT was a wall of text! Hahaha
Welcome to BAND-MAID! Love your reaction. Seems like you've enjoyed the Maids. If you like this one, there's 120+ more similarly enjoyable songs by them. "Domination" live and "Play" live are good follow-ups to this one. Hope to see you again on another B-M reaction.
The title is FREEDOM. It's not dark. The vocals are always very wrapped up in the rhythm. They cover many genres, many songs. Pick anything, everything is good. Best rock band on the planet.
This is one of my favorites. They appear so happy but if you look up the lyrics it is a painful break up song. Loved seeing this live in Houston and NYC last year. They are great live.
Hello Rayactions ;-). Welcome to the world of Ban-Maid. Its so nice to have you with us. Most of their newer mvs have subtitles by the way. Hope to see more Band-Maid here in the future !
All Band-Maid songs are song of positivity. You're in for a real treat if you stay with them because they have no bad songs. Being a singer you may appreciate the angelic harmonies in "Blooming".
Cool and FUN vibes? That's the essence of BAND-MAID. They just started their 10 year anniversary tour yesterday. Will be in the US in May and August. From the same concert I will suggest: DOMINATION-LIVE and PLAY-LIVE. With over 120 songs in their catalog there will be no shortage of great ROCK music for at least a few months. Their Awesomeness shines thru on even the darkest days. Peace. 6.38
@@GaryHolloway-810 Gosh Darnit. Why do I subconsciously keep forgetting their coolest song? 🤷🏻♂Don't You Tell ME. Don't You Tell ME. Don't You Tell ME. Don't You Tell ME. Now I won't forget.............probably.😁
Hi Rachel! Welcome to the pigeon hole that is Band-Maid! Super talented and super fun! Considered by many to be the finest hard rock band in existence today, they can do anything, from blowing your socks off with a shredding metal track, to Punk-Prog mayhem, to bluesy groove, to soft ballad to acoustic sessions. Plus, they are five of the nicest humans on the planet, without a shred of ego that love each other and their fans. They are bringing joy back to rock & roll! Currently celebrating their 10th anniversary they have a huge back catalogue to discover! Check out the live version of "Domination" for more. See you soon Po!
Hi Kawaii Davey. the "Decade of the Maid" is only just starting to build momentum. We will have the Maids return to these shores next year. Yay for us then.🙆♂️
@@GaryHolloway-810 I hope so! I have entered the lottery for four shows in Japan in October - I'll see how that goes (three of them are tiny venues so less chance of getting a ticket). I'm not even sure I can even afford to go lol!

What a great introductory song for Band Maid. Really this is where to start. These ladies absolutely slay without question, this song for them though, is mild. Little bit of pepper. If you like rock and talented Japanese female musicians (weird niche I get it) you have to do more. What I mean is please do more, this was a great reaction!
Nice reaction, thumbs up. I'd love to see some more reactions. Band-Maid has been together for about 10 years and they don't really have any bad songs. Their live videos are especially good. Have a good one!
They are so amazing. Incredible musicians. The music makes you smile. Band Maid It's a deep dark rabbit hole full of countless amazing songs ranging from punk rock to metalish. They dont miss
This may be the happiest song the world has ever known. If you get the chance you must see them live. It was the second best concert I've ever been to. Pure fun.
Welcome aboard, Raychel. You are embarking on (along with many others - 170 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (125 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular! Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! "Thrill" (2014) is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their songs from albums Unleash, Unseen World, Conqueror, World Domination, Just Bring It, Brand New Maid, and New Beginning drive even more - Warning, No God, Different, Black Hole, Rinne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Don’t You Tell Me, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Choose Me, I Can’t Live Without You, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html) And many songs are represented with nearly 50 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE audience & online OKYU-JI concerts: ONLINE OKYU-JI (Feb. 11, 2021) “No God” th-cam.com/video/nAdWnIRjGak/w-d-xo.html Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA (February 14, 2020) “Domination” th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html ZEPP 2018 “Real Existence” th-cam.com/video/-qQnKILR5u0/w-d-xo.html Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and other full concerts are on bandmaidprime.tokyo, bili, and official Band-Maid’s DVD/BD/CD. “P and D²” 30+ Photo Collage videos at www.youtube.com/@PinD2/videos And some of the better quality fan videos are excellent. For fun, check out an awesome, little known "Mega Band-Maid Mix" by DJ Ray of some of their earlier stuff: facebook.com/djrayboston/videos/1004709499579009 Band-Maid Members: Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 29 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen! Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 31 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!! Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 31 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 32 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 30 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA! Maidiacs (Maid-e-acts) - Band-Maid’s crazed yet supportive, knowledgeable and loyal Super Fans. Nice to see your subs, views, and comments going up fast. You are doing something right. HO HUM, just another great reaction. Please keep it up, you're great.
Nice reaction! Everybody recommends the live "Domination" video for good reason, but here's some suggestions based on your comments if you proceed down the pigeonhole from there: "Wonderland" (official live) really shows off Saiki's lead vocals in a more jazzy format; reminds me of (a really energetic) Sade a bit. "Sayonakidori" (acoustic) shows that founder, rhythm guitarist, and lyricist Miku is a damn fine vocalist in her own right. "Unleash!!!!!" - in this MV they actually _are_ "superheroes" and the song reflects that. However, they have no sub-par songs even with their wide stylistic range, so you can pick anything. EDIT: Their lyrics are always uplifting, but usually more gritty or bittersweet than sugary.
I love this band so much! They have amazing variaty between their songs but all of them sound incredibly good. Please go back to them and pick ANY song, you cannot go wrong.
congrats on finding the fabulous five talented, funny, happy and bonkers women of Band-Maid - you picked a good song and video to start with. Keep going with them - they will not disappoint.
Listening to a random Band-Maid song may give you: a ballad, acoustic rock, heavy, progressive or some combinatination of these and more. One of the only things that stays the same is the vibe. You may want to dive deeper into this pigeon hole, either with some of the suggestions from other posts or just a random one 😁
Great reaction. 👍 Here's a few songs to check out to see how these ladies are great at whatever they play: "Manners/Black Hole" Official Live (two songs) "Domination" (Official Live) "From Now On" (Instrumental) "Memorable" (Ballad - a lovesong they wrote to their fans. They were overwhelmed by the positive response they got on their 2022 US Tour) "Different" Band-Maiko "Secret MAIKO Lips" (As an April Fools prank one year, they announced they had changed their name & released a couple videos under a different persona, as Geisha girls, even incorporating some traditional Japanese instruments. VERY clever and cool.) No matter what songs you react to, you'll be blown away. They are that consistently good. Enjoy!
This is one of the first songs with lyrics by Miku (the backup singer and rhythm guitarist). Someone else wrote the music, though they've been playing it long enough that they've stamped their own identity onto it. Nowadays, Miku writes almost all the lyrics, though the lead singer's started writing them, too. Meanwhile, Kanami (the lead guitarist and Miku's tutor) writes the music, with input from the rest of the band. Lots of great songs to choose from, as the other maidiacs will doubtless tell you.
I recognize that smile at the beginning. It’s the Band-Maid smile , you know, the one you just can’t help. Huge fan. Saw them live twice. They are no joke. But they are all goofballs, which you’ll understand at their shows. I recommend Dice and then Domination, both official live.
I just got to see them in Japan like 2 months ago, and it was as close to a religious experience as I have ever had... Cried tears of joy the whole time. They are absolutely incredible.
Band-Maid will be embarking on another US tour in May, playing several festivals and club dates. Most of the dates are in the South in Houston and Austin, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Daytona, Florida; Atlanta, GA; and Charlotte, North Carolina, but also with some Midwest dates in St. Louis, MO; Columbus, Ohio; and Detroit, MI. Then in August, they'll be a Lollapolooza in Chicago.

Welcome to Band-Maid. They straight up rock. Another of my favorite groups is another all female Japanese rock group Lovebites. You would probably enjoy them as well. The 2 guitarists will melt your face off.
I was lucky enough to see them on this tour, I think, in NYC. They brought the house down. It was so funny seeing a room full of mostly metal-head-looking dudes going nuts to four Japanese chicks just shredding on stage. They played for about 2 hours straight with this much intensity, start to finish. If you ever get a chance to see them, go!
I will say this as a huge fan of this band. It is pretty rare to see a drummer that happy while playing. There are some, but not many who are as happy as her
Nice reaction! Not only does Band-Maid have a great vibe, the vibe changes from one song to the next. They have a very eclectic approach to music, but their sound is always recognizably Band-Maid. If you want to hear a symphonic instrumental, try From Now On; maybe some hard-driving rock, try Warning (MV) or Rinne; a heartwarming post-covid letter to fans in the form of a ballad -- Memorable; if you want to see them go from a bluesy vibe to controlled chaos, check out their Manners & Black Hole 2-fer.
Oh you have no idea. I fell down the Band-Maid rabbit hole 2 years ago, listen to them now every day. Saw them live last October, going to see them again this coming May. They have a huge library of wonderful music. On top of that, they are the most humble, sweet, beautiful humans on this world. Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid.
Welcome & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Band-Maid is one of the best bands in our country, especially in live performance. We say "Japan is the country obsessed by Rock Music". The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s. Even Rush from your country came in 1984 and played at 4 venues including Budokan. Yes, the same legendary arena with Beatles. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Rachel, If you want to understand Band Maid, you should react to "Daydreaming, "About Us", and especially, their most recent release, "Memorable". "Domination" really shows the group's presence and interaction with the audience. One of my favorite songs to show Saiki, the lead singer's voice, is "Wonderland". These five young women are amazing musicians.
Hey its OK we all feel it you've brought a vibe yourself in this reaction one I haven't seen for awhile and your journey is just beginning because you have just found the living legends known as band maid and will not let you down domination live official as always or DAYDREAMING mv only will show you why this song is a must thank you band maid has so many songs that will blow you away but be careful official live or music videos are better sound than some be well
Miku (guitarist and backup singer and general all around awesome human being pigeon hybrid) was originally the lead singer but as teh it became clear that they were going for a more Hard Rock style she realisd that she couldn't carry the sound the band needed so recruited Saiki for lead vocals and got Kanami to start teaching her Guitar. She still does at least 1 track per album on lead vocals and writes all the lyrics (some of which are really deep) While she is a talented singer (See the Acoustic version of Sayonakidori) she is more valuable are band leader and driver of the band. Oh and you will not find anyone in any genre in any country as dedicated to her fans as Miku Kobato, as much as we love her it pales to the love she gives us back, writing a number of songs directly to us and dedicating entire portions of live gigs to fans interactions. Po!
Congratulations you have just discovered one of if not the best rock band on the planet! They have a very very deep catalog and there is not a mediocre song in it. Keep going and welcome to the ranks of the “Maidiacs”. 😎🤘🏻
T.V.B.I. indeed. Being Maids, they highly polish every Vibe before serving it up to the glassy-eyed collective...aka Masters and Princesses. Effing good aren't they? 🙊 🤘🤘🤘 ❤
Moratorium, Play, Secret My Lips, Manners, Domination. There you have some more amazing songs by Band Maid. And go for tveir official live videos😄 great reation👍
I've been listening to the maids for a few years now and still enjoy them as much now as I did when I first discovered them. MISA, the bass guitarist, has such a great tone that I switched my gear to Orange gear. BAND-MAID was my gateway into the wonderful world of Japanese rock and metal. I'm hoping to see them this year, though it'll be as part of a festival rather than a headlining show.
You're right. They play everything from hard rock/metal to acoutic sets, but what ever they do they just bring joy to the listener. Many of the the lyrics by Miku (Red rose) are deep and meaningfull- sung by her and Saiki (Blue rose)- lead vocals. The music is down to Kanami the lead guitarist. Rhythm section- MISA- Bass and the ever smiling Akane on drums.
Band-Maid can be one of the happiest sounding bands on the planet and they will put a smile on your face. The second vocalist, Miku Kobato, writes the majority of their lyrics and she has a knack for writing songs that express complex emotions. Page, About Us, and Daydreaming are few of Band-Maid's more emotional pieces. They have performed several different arrangements of "Puzzle" and in each version, the vocals are strikingly expressive.
リアクションありがとうございます。追いかけるのが大変なくらい多くの曲がありますよ、楽しんでくださると嬉しいです。 Thank you for your reaction. There are so many songs that it's hard to keep track of them, so I hope you enjoy them.
"It feels like a superhero song" ... Well, for us they are nothing less than exactly that, and this song is something like their unofficial anthem. :) But believe me, at best you've only scratched the surface of what these ladies have to offer. From slow emotional songs to songs that will melt your face off, you'll find just about everything in their large catalog that this band has filled for the past 10 years. :) I also recommend the live version of 'Domination' next or also in the live version 'Real Existence'. Greetings from the German part of the Maidiacs family. 🙋🏻♂ _____________________ 「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
You found them!! The best rock band on planet earth 🌍! The Maids never disappoint and always leave us wanting more. They recently opened for Guns N Roses - they are the real deal…and then some!! 😀 I see you’re in Canada. The Maids are playing in Detroit in May, not far if you’re in the Toronto general area! They should play Canada soon, not sure why they haven’t 🤷🏻♂️😔 Next, check out: - “Influencer” - official MV Then, - “Domination” - official live video - “Manners / Black Hole” - official live video - “Memorable” - official MV - “Warning” - official MV Then dozens more!! Plus other great Japanese all-female metal bands like BabyMetal, Lovebites, & Nemophila!! Plus The Warning from Mexico (friends of Band-Maid!) Enjoy your trip down the “Pigeon” hole with the Maids!! Take care and rock on 🤘🏼😀🔥🎸🥁🎼🤯✌🏼
It's always so much fun witnessing the birth of a brand new Maidiac!! BAND-MAID'S Freedom is Happy Pills in Musical Form! Believe it or not, that's just the tip of the huge iceberg of musical greatness from these ladies and the more you hear from them and get to know them, the more you'll love 'em! Some suggestions: Domination, Play, Onset (instrumental), Real Existence - all Live, because that's when they really shine. (BEST MV's: Blooming, From Now On (instrumental), Thrill, The Non-Fiction Days, Dice, Secret My Lips) Thanks!🤘🤩🤘
Thank you for reacting to BAND-MAID's most smile-filled live, it was a lot of fun. They have over 100 songs that you will love. Please respond to any song at any time. I look forward to it.
THE best Rock band in the galaxy. There's a superb vocal display from Saiki in the song 'Wonderland' live, going through 3 octaves at one point during a high to low register sequence - th-cam.com/video/x4hxLeHbqZo/w-d-xo.html . Yes, you were correct at guessing that Miku (founder of the band, main lyricist, rhythm guitar and backing vocals - occaionally solo too) was harmonising with Saiki. Akane is the world's happiest drummer!
i was at their show last October in San Diego CA and the vibe was electric the full 2 hour show they never let up and involved the audience the whole time it was fres... wait there is no cussing on this channel . it was great
During concerts they give lead singer Saiki a chance to rest her voice by playing an instrumental and/or a song with just the backing singer, Miku. One is the emotional "Sayonakidori" (live version th-cam.com/video/DC1qhYrNMQg/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUMc2F5b25ha2lkb3Jp, acoustic version th-cam.com/video/sGzAQigaL14/w-d-xo.html). Another is the fun pop song "Rock In Me" (th-cam.com/video/xhTnGiSNuYA/w-d-xo.html).
hajimemashite 😁 nice reaction, great thing you start with this version of FREEDOM, it so catchy and upbeat that makes you wanna jumping and dancing. you definitely drown to the vibes with those smiles (and tears I assume, LoL). just watching the video you're already mesmerized by BAND-MAID, maybe you could fly to the USA in the upcoming May 2023 to actually feel the vibe of these maids. welcome to the pigeon hole! rock on 🤘🖤🤍
Freedom is one of their kind of straight forward rock songs, they have soft ballads like Daydreaming, Memorable and Wonderland. Fast and frantic metalish songs like Rinne, Black Hole. Some great songs all around. Some crazy progressive songs like Blooming and Influencer... honestly you can't know this band from one song, they have 100+ songs to choose from and they're all good.
I hope you do more from Band Maid. They are easily one of the most talented bands out there. Play and Domination would be good next reactions if you want to keep it to live performances.
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors from Tokyo University. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Frequently snacks between songs. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Thanks for checking out Band Maid ! They make you smile or make you cry, sometimes both ! But mainly smile :) I would highly suggest you watch the official live version of 'Domination' next from the same concert as Freedom. Enjoy !!
Yes please do so!

Wow! What a cool synopsis! 🙂👏👏👏
(Saiki also had NEVER met Miku until then as well)
So the Ladies, went and did the performance and Saiki really, REALLY liked the crowds reaction and the music they were performing.
Then in 2015 they released "New Beginning"
On New Beginning was the song that changed Band Maid's entire existence. "Thrill"...
The band was getting ready to release their first music video and the choice was between "Love, Passion, Matador" and "Thrill" and the ladies chose Thrill. (Little known fact, Miku helped with the lyrics on Thrill but did not get credited)
This became the seminal moment of Band Maid.

Is this the new reactor you were talking about?🙂
@@GaryHolloway-810 Hey you are here. Yup 😁
Peace. 6.38

Now, that's funny man.

But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits like Sense, Glory and Unleash (from their own Anime MV (series?)): th-cam.com/video/7LB_EPS48HE/w-d-xo.html)

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “Ice Queen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies.

Everybody recommends the live "Domination" video for good reason, but here's some suggestions based on your comments if you proceed down the pigeonhole from there:
"Wonderland" (official live) really shows off Saiki's lead vocals in a more jazzy format; reminds me of (a really energetic) Sade a bit.
Band-maid songs really make you teary-eyed / cry
Thanks Rayactions! Welcome to Band-Baid!
I love this band so much! They have amazing variaty between their songs but all of them sound incredibly good. Please go back to them and pick ANY song, you cannot go wrong.
Earlier this year, the same live Band-Maid video showed up in my feed, and I was hooked.
congrats on finding the fabulous five talented, funny, happy and bonkers women of Band-Maid - you picked a good song and video to start with.
Here's a few songs to check out to see how these ladies are great at whatever they play:
"Manners/Black Hole" Official Live (two songs)
"Domination" (Official Live)
"From Now On" (Instrumental)
"Memorable" (Ballad - a lovesong they wrote to their fans. They were overwhelmed by the positive response they got on their 2022 US Tour)
"Different"
Band-Maiko
"Secret MAIKO Lips" (As an April Fools prank one year, they announced they had changed their name & released a couple videos under a different persona, as Geisha girls, even incorporating some traditional Japanese instruments. VERY clever and cool.)
No matter what songs you react to, you'll be blown away. They are that consistently good. Enjoy!
I’ve seen this band twice! They’re so good! They put on a hell of a show!
Love this band. They are super talented, and it always leaves me with a smile because they have so much fun.
If you want to hear more of both singers, I'd suggest listening to an acoustic song: sayonakidori or catharsis.
Freedom is a song that the crowd loves to partake in! Their live performances are outstanding!
Band Maid is my go to music when I’m angry or sad or stressed out . They just bring me down and make me happy again .
These girls are mega talented
They are also Megastars!!!!!
I recognize that smile at the beginning. It’s the Band-Maid smile , you know, the one you just can’t help. Huge fan. Saw them live twice. They are no joke. But they are all goofballs, which you’ll understand at their shows. I recommend Dice and then Domination, both official live.
This band always brings the vibes and you'll always finish the song feeling happier than you did before. Just fact.
I just got to see them in Japan like 2 months ago, and it was as close to a religious experience as I have ever had... Cried tears of joy the whole time. They are absolutely incredible.
Thank you for reacting to the greatest rock band in the world!! Their talent and joy are overwhelming.
Next TOP all Japanese female J-Rock/Metal Bands
LOVEBITES new songs MV Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver(Shoot 'em Down)
NEMOPHILA - new songs Rise, Seize The Fate, Revive, Dissension, Raitei...
HANABIE - songs We Love Sweets, NEET GAME, Pardon Me...
Welcome to Band-Maid. They straight up rock. Another of my favorite groups is another all female Japanese rock group Lovebites. You would probably enjoy them as well. The 2 guitarists will melt your face off.
If you want to check out one of their instrumentals " From Now On" is a good one. Also theyll be in the states in May if you want to see them live!
Congratulations you have summoned the Band-Maid fandom
I will say this as a huge fan of this band. It is pretty rare to see a drummer that happy while playing. There are some, but not many who are as happy as her
They are so skilled, versatile and dedicated that sometimes even in videos you feel you are in the presence of little gods.
I saw them in Chicago last year and it only gets better in person
(Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.)
Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄
Band-maid is amazing. Check out the Manners/Black Hole video they do.
These five young women are amazing musicians.
my favourite thing about them is how much fun they seem to have on stage
Hey its OK we all feel it you've brought a vibe yourself in this reaction one I haven't seen for awhile and your journey is just beginning because you have just found the living legends known as band maid and will not let you down domination live official as always or DAYDREAMING mv only will show you why this song is a must thank you band maid has so many songs that will blow you away but be careful official live or music videos are better sound than some be well
Jimmy Page saw Band Maid in live in Japan and he said the drummer was one of the best drummers he had ever seen in a concert.
Po!
MORE MORE MORE! Pretty Maids all in a row. Now try The Warning from Mexico..
They will be touring the us very soon. I saw them last year. Highly recommend going to a show if possible
Congratulations you have just discovered one of if not the best rock band on the planet! They have a very very deep catalog and there is not a mediocre song in it.
Keep going and welcome to the ranks of the “Maidiacs”. 😎🤘🏻
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band Maid!! 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊
Because Miku insisted on "My Way! My Way! My Way!", we now have the best live rock band on the planet.
Band-Maid are simply the best ! Thank you for the video.
Can’t wait to see them in May live in Detroit for my first time they are incredible BAND-MAID best band in the world 🌎 😊👍👏🎸🎶🇯🇵
He second singer is Miku (the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band). These women are all insanely talented. I wish more people were aware of them.
This band is just insane you have to Chek more of them ! They will impress you
リアクションありがとうございます。追いかけるのが大変なくらい多くの曲がありますよ、楽しんでくださると嬉しいです。
Thank you for your reaction. There are so many songs that it's hard to keep track of them, so I hope you enjoy them.
Live performances have an amazing vibe!! Fans that don’t speak Japanese are singing with the band 😊.
"It feels like a superhero song" ... Well, for us they are nothing less than exactly that, and this song is something like their unofficial anthem. :)
But believe me, at best you've only scratched the surface of what these ladies have to offer. From slow emotional songs to songs that will melt your face off, you'll find just about everything in their large catalog that this band has filled for the past 10 years. :)
I also recommend the live version of 'Domination' next or also in the live version 'Real Existence'.
Greetings from the German part of the Maidiacs family. 🙋🏻♂

「 _'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!'_ 」 --- *BAND-MAID* 'Manners' 🕊
"...I'm gonna say it again: The vibes are fucking immaculate." Thats the best and most accurate reaction for this song 😅
I have a feeling you're really gonna love this band.
You found them!! The best rock band on planet earth 🌍!
The Maids never disappoint and always leave us wanting more. They recently opened for Guns N Roses - they are the real deal…and then some!! 😀
I see you’re in Canada. The Maids are playing in Detroit in May, not far if you’re in the Toronto general area! They should play Canada soon, not sure why they haven’t 🤷🏻♂️😔
Next, check out:
- “Influencer” - official MV
Then,
- “Domination” - official live video
- “Manners / Black Hole” - official live video
- “Memorable” - official MV
- “Warning” - official MV
Then dozens more!!
Plus other great Japanese all-female metal bands like BabyMetal, Lovebites, & Nemophila!!
Plus The Warning from Mexico (friends of Band-Maid!)
Enjoy your trip down the “Pigeon” hole with the Maids!!
Take care and rock on 🤘🏼😀🔥🎸🥁🎼🤯✌🏼
you need to check out DOMINATION LIVE, super energy and skill. And yes, lots of vibe, as always with Band Maid. Welcome to The Maidiacs.
(BEST MV's: Blooming, From Now On (instrumental), Thrill, The Non-Fiction Days, Dice, Secret My Lips)
Thanks!🤘🤩🤘
Band-Maid is now the best Hard Rock band on Earth. No joke. They really are.
130 more songs to go...
Great reaction Rachel! Another band you may like is Love-bites.
This song gives me HUGE anime intro vibes. I would not be surprised one ounce if it was made for one or ended up being one.
This whole group is a jam.
I hope you do more from Band Maid. They are easily one of the most talented bands out there. Play and Domination would be good next reactions if you want to keep it to live performances.
Nice, would love to see more Band-Maid in the future. :)
You need to return to Band Maid!
No,their lyrics are always positive.I have already read it from almost all discography and i tell you, they are extraordinary positive.
There is so much more to discover….I’m jealous that you are just at the beginning!
