    As always, this is the best work that I've seen anybody do on a narrow boat. Very careful and thorough, taking care to make sure that the vapor barrier is not broken, and that any wood is going to be sealed against water.
    Anybody looking to finish out their own boat should really watch your channel to see how to do it right.

      Wow not sure what to say about that. Thanks for your very kind words and support. Really appreciate it.

      @@makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg Thank you and your wife for sharing this with us. I'm very handy (I live in a house that I've rehabbed, replaced all the wiring, plumbing and gas, built the kitchen and bathroom etc) and I haven't seen you do anything that made me think "Oh, he shouldn't have done that!"

    Such a quality job. Shower rooms are the weakest area for leaks then that rots the hull etc. Not yours. That'll never leak. Well done.

      Cheers Will. Like you say and from what we've seen and read they do seem to be a weak area. Hopefully all this graft will pay off for us in the future.

    Thanks for your reply on a previous episode! Still watching great, easy to follow content. I was an electrician but haven't worked with 12v so am looking forward to seeing what you do with your electrical installation. Brilliant videos and I can't thank you enough for uploading these. Looking forward to the next batch.

    The best shower I’ve seen installed on a narrowboat yet, just the way I do them here in BC, guaranteed never to leak. Great job, you’re obviously done these before. Cheers, Nigel

      Thankyou for your kind comments Nigel. I'm a qualified gas engineer by trade but always seemed to keep getting asked if I could fit customers bathrooms and kitchens so done a fare few in my time. Glad you're enjoying watching.

    That’s a lot of work for a shower enclosure but will be worth it as it looks like a great space.

    Brilliant videos! What product do you use on the back of all the plywood sheeting you’re putting in? Is that to protect it from any moisture that may find its way into the walls and bulkheads? Will you apply the same to the front surface too?

    • @makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg
      @makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thankyou Ian, We varnish the backs of the boards with Yatch varnish just to give the boards extra protection from any condensation that may get in. We use Wedi boards stuck on the front face of the boards on the inside of the enclosure that are moisture resistant and better to tile onto. Thankyou for watching 👍

    I am just stripping out a very old 57ft boat, and the water under the shower/toilet was awful, and so I am worried that I could make the mistake of not sealing the shower when I build one, but what you have done looks superb, and I can't see water escaping from that lot. Thanks for sharing it, all helps you know.

    I am curious where is your grey tank?

    • @makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg
      @makinganarrowboatwithnannyandg  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There isn't one. When we were researching getting a narrowboat it was one of the questions we asked. All the grey water goes directly out of the boat through skin fittings in the side above the waterline and into the rivers and canals. We have read that it helps disperse oil in the water. How true that is i do not know but yes it goes straight in the water.

    I feel sorry for whomever buys your boat in 50 years and decides to fit a sonic shower in a different place in the boat and needs to dismantle your shower.

    You want me to watch a 20sec advert before your content?
    C'mon

      Hi James, We can't choose what ads are shown as far as we know. We allow ads to be shown at the beginning and end of our videos and not in between. The only long one's we have experienced on other vlogs have been skippable ads and the short ones have been the non skippable ones. Not sure what you experienced but hope you enjoyed the vlog anyway

      Im surprised you have no input into this. Its rare i cant skip an advert.
      Maybe its a glitch but you might want to double check this as i did not watch your vlog as NO WAY im going to wait 20sec on youtube. 6 seconds is painful enough.
