I restored a Fender Stratocaster guitar and bough a aftermarket headstock decal. When I went to smooth out the bubbles the decal ran. The guy sent me another one and suggested a very thin coat of clear. It worked great and when I clear coated over it, blended in well.
You never know what's going to be next with a Diecast resurrection video, but you know it's going to be good ! Really enjoyed this one even with no voiceover at the end !!
Love the car theme. I would have liked to see the over spray fix and the stance change. Those are a couple of the learning points which you do so well. As for the decals, I assume you have notified the seller so he can hopefully address the problem. As a business owner, I have always stressed that negative input is as important if not more so than positive. A problem can not be corrected if I don't know about it. And if this seller is reputible, then he or she deserves a chance to correct your issue and perhaps even compensate you for your trouble. Thanks for another great project!
99% of professional or retail decals don't need that treatment, like the ones that come with models are typically pretty sturdy. He must have thought the same and as much as that guy charges for them, I would too...
Well, after the first one, I would have clearcoated the rest. Don't get me wrong, he does great work. I just would not have trusted the rest of the decals. I know he didn't even though he used them as they were anyway.
That's awesome. I would've dipped part of the car in a dark brown color so it would look like a doughnut being dipped in some coffee. Can't wait to see the next episode. Blubbling Sparkly.
Love the DD wagon! DUDE! Your killing it! 3 hours in and 5K views 600 likes, 130 comments!!!! CONGRATS!!! You deserve it, TOP quality viewing! Thank you!!!!
My buddy's mom and dad had a Ford station wagon that had a 428 in it and that thing was the fastest family boat around. Would love to hot rod one of them for reals.. Great build here!
Really nice custom paint job.....that’s a shame those decals messed up on you....at least you managed to get it done.....really nice colors on this car....great video 👍🏻
You might try Marty's Matchbox Makeovers trick by spraying some clear coat on top of the decals to stop the bleeding on them. Nice channel, I do recommend that! Didn't expect that bummer from mycustomhotwheels, but maybe he has the cool designs and just print on regular decal paper as you could do it at home or something. This guy ain't cheap though...
The Decals were definitely not sealed. I print my Decals and you need to clear coat them because the ink will run off (like yours). Maybe the seller forget that. I use acrylic water-based clear coat "acid free" from a can. Works great. Hope I could help!
Awesome gasser buddy. on the decals, what he forgot to do is seal the ink. ive heard from a buddy, that when you print water slide decals, you are to let the ink dry. then you spray a sealer this protects the ink, when you soak them and apply them. not sure what its called. but it looks like he didnt or forgot to do that step when he made them.
Really great job here, but I was hoping to see the front of the car- I was curious if you were able to do anything with the big block of plastic under the front bumper? Is there any way to make that section look cool?
I have run into the ink running like that. I ended up clear coating the decal sheet before cutting them and putting them in water. Pain in the ass, but that's what I came up with. Sorry for your aggravation. On the other hand the wagon looks killer ! 🍻
Looks like the decals were printed on inkjet printer which means the pigments are water soluble. You can seal them with one or two coats of clear lacquer. Then when you dip them in water they will stay intact and you can place them with pliers or brush without damaging the ink.
Hello there Mr. Resurrection, my son and spend hours watching your channel. We found a couple of oldies we thought you might like include on your channel of awesomeness. We would like to send them to you but I'm not sure where to send them. I posted pics of them on your F/B page. Blub Blub all day long...
So I'm guessing due to the whole .e x e that this was a 3D card which is cool I definitely need to get myself a 3D printer and a way to make decals but that would have to be in the future for me! One day perhaps! It deffinately puts doing customs on a whole new level! Great job bro!
The car looks great! I think the decals are really nice, would they have worked better if before you cut them apart, spray a thin layer of clear coat on them to seal the ink?
Mmmm Donuts. Came out really cool. Shame that you had so much trouble with the decals. I know to avoid getting decals from them. As a Nova guy I love these Nova wagon gassers. I've owned more Nova's than most people have had cars. 3 bulbs up in a donut formation
The car turned out great. Those decals seemed like they weren’t sealed. Glad to see you were still able to use them.
I was just thinking I haven't seen a video from Austin lately, and here you are! I love the sparkling. I'm a sucker for sparkles.
My daughter and I laughed really hard at “sparkly noises” great video!
That's pretty funny! Say hello for me :D

Awesome build! Bet I wasn’t the only one doing my own ‘blub blub blub’s at the end either... PIMP! 😉👍
It turned out great even though the decals maybe need to be sealed with clearcoats. Can't wait to see the candy colored dumpster truck.
"Lost" your sound? Decal issues? I think it was the Canadian great spirit Tim Horton smiting a Canadian for making a Dunkin' gasser.
That turned out great. You even managed to salvage the decals. Awesome job.
In the future you can spray the decals with a clearcoat before you dip them in the water. That would keep the print from being destroyed.
Yeah, I thought I've seen Marty do this as well.

I'd like to see you do a Krispy Kreme doughnuts Gasser Wagon. I love Krispy Kreme doughnuts 😁
That can be arranged!
Awesome!

Thanks Brother! Great comment 🍺🍺🍺🤜
Sweet ride!!! Definitely a box of Timmies for Jimmy. "Cruller Express"
Sweet ride Austin 👍🏼
Now I want some donuts. "Marge, could you get me some donuts, the one with sprinkles".
Great detail work, sorry about the decal issue, Doh !
My buddy's mom and dad had a Ford station wagon that had a 428 in it and that thing was the fastest family boat around. Would love to hot rod one of them for reals.. Great build here!

Awesome... the wheels are a beauty... a lot betters than the previous one...
Good job. Why not Timmies, being a Cannuk. Try coating the decal in your clear floor polish, that might keep them from running.
I know how to fix them, I'm just annoyed that they sell them like that ya know?

Gr8 looking wagon👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍

Ohh, thats nice and sparkly! the Homer on the tailgate makes this one a 10/10 for me
Those stripes looked like they would also fit a Whataburger livery lol
Fresh, hot, and on a big toasted bun. What-A-Gasser. Just like you like it.
I had similar problems with the same decal supplier with assorted flames, but not as bad as your decals. Love the gasser though.
Really great job here, but I was hoping to see the front of the car- I was curious if you were able to do anything with the big block of plastic under the front bumper? Is there any way to make that section look cool?

On the other hand the wagon looks killer ! 🍻
So RAD!! And I am a Dunkin Junkie so I double love this!!
I bought a ton of the Nova wagon and the Holley Gassers for customizing in the years to come. Bought giant lots of each on eBay.
Another great job! Seams the decals did not have clear coat sprayed on them before soaking in water...Maybe they forgot to do it?
Its possible, sad part is I bought LOTS from them.. so I need to go back and spray them all now so I don't run into this again.
Yes man please do. I notice the color weeping around the letters like they don't spray a clear coat on them!
Glossy candy icing... 😍 Didn't ever imagine that
Next build.....Tim Hortons Pontiac Acadian gasser? I dare ya!! 😂 great lookin car! Awesome work!
I was just thinking'. Dunkin' Donuts? What about Tim Horton's. Nice lookin' paint job though.
Pretty pimp 🍩 ride. Thanks DR.👍🏼🍩🤘🏼🍩😎
Car came out super sweet, love a good gasser, and the Homer/DD concept was great.
I like Dunkin Donut Gasser. The decals look great. 👍
Awesome job buddy looks great thanks for sharing buddy keep up the good work 😎👍👍
You killed it! Homer was a nice touch!
YEAH MAN DOUGHNUTS!
Looks awesome. I’ve got the ‘57 Chevy Holly gasser, love the casting and the colours, but the front axle really lets it down I think, way too chunky.
Advice for a future build... Lay the thin tape side by side from the center out, then peel away every other one. They will all be even. 👍🙃👍
I bought them from him and his decals did the same thing the ink faded while applying.
Looks like the decals were printed on inkjet printer which means the pigments are water soluble. You can seal them with one or two coats of clear lacquer. Then when you dip them in water they will stay intact and you can place them with pliers or brush without damaging the ink.
That was great. It looks fantastic!

Looks great!!! Sucks that those decals were so poorly done but at least you made them work!! Outstanding!!
I love it-especially the Homer -I want one ☝️ just one 👍

Excelent custom greetings from Guatemala

You had me at the first 'blub'!
Awesome paint job
That thing is sweet looking thanks for sharing
Nicely done
Awesome job. I like the pride you put in your work. Whaaaaaat uuuuup!
You could potentially clear coat those decals before placing them, but they turned out great. Mad skills my dude.
You took it calmer about those decals then I would. That's bull
Magnifique 👏👏👏👍
Kick save, and a beauty!
Haven't seen a good drillin' in a long time. At least not on TH-cam.
That’s just friggin awesome, your skills are crazy good. I always look forward to seeing what you come up with and I’m blown away every time 👍👍😊
What are the odds on that I'm in my patrol car at the drive thru @dunkin donuts ordering 1/2 dzn and ur video shows up great job
Watching youtube vids on state payroll. while driving... nice. LOL
Wow looks dope man good job ...I ha e a question what did you use to spray the sparkle love that ??
that thing is the bomb. i love the donut police badge
This is cool, nice custom!
The Homer is exquisite. Even tho the decals sucked you still made it work together with the sparkles
Wow good looking gasser wagon
Nice custom 👍😎👍
Great job looks cool
Brother... You are better than Hot Wheels! Sux about the tampo, and yet you produce a touch of class! Congrats bub that is BOSS!
Great one!
That's a sick gasser. Real pimp.
Love this one. Not a big gasser fan but love DD
Your noises makes me to laugh every time :-):-). Good job and cool Homer Simpson decal :-)
Mmmm Donuts. Came out really cool. Shame that you had so much trouble with the decals. I know to avoid getting decals from them. As a Nova guy I love these Nova wagon gassers. I've owned more Nova's than most people have had cars. 3 bulbs up in a donut formation

DROPPING IT HOT !

This guy is my Effin hero. 😂😂👏🏽✌🏽
Simply amazing.....
Try spray clear coat on the details first let it dry out then put them in water hopefully the paint won't come off
Looks so fresh and clean what a amazing car
Sweet..... another wagon.keepthem coming
Dadbern Dunkin' Delisciousness! 😊
That is exactly what happens when you don't put a clear lacquer over an ink-jet decal. If these are laser decals I'd contact the seller.
