- Making this video was a gas. I took a johnny lightning zinger 63 Chevy 2 and made it a gasser. This video shows the disassembling, engine modification, making of a custom gasser suspension, painting, water slide decal applying , and wheel swap to the die cast 1: 64 car. I think they came from a mercury cougar M2. It came with 4 sets of wheels and a screw driver. 90% sure. The wheels were sitting around for a while

Nice job on the details 😎👍🏻 yea you have to use a toothpick and have a steady hand for those small turn signal details. Nice touch on the window trim as well.

75bbrown Thanks. The engine was a little too elevated in my opinion. I wanted it to have a lower profile.
Chevy 2 is the early version of the nova right?
Yeah. They used the Chevy ll name up to 69.
In 1971 GM used the Nova name to spell out through " platform sharing " the acronym NOVA. The 4 GM models were Chevrolet Nova, Oldsmobile Omega, Pontiac Ventura, and Buick Apollo. Just a neat factoid.

Klean strip products.
So changing a gasser into a gasser? All I would have done was a new paint color and that is it. Not bad though.

Scooter Obsessions the bottom of the casting reads 63. I know the first body style change was in 66. Not sure about the double taillights
That is a 65'! The 62,63,64 had a single tail light with a small reverse light in the center, the 65 had the single tail light and the reverse light which was the same shape as the tail light but they were mounted in the trunk to the inside of the tail light
It was all ready a gasser except the rear end is raised higher
