Stellantis has taken the former Chrysler Corporation it got from mercedes after germans bought them and is basically dismantling it. And its American only in the brand names alone. Otherwise it is not American anymore.

Long LONG time Dodge/Ram truck owner. Bought several new but hanging on to my 2017 Ram 4x4. There's something that started to bother me that they were getting design/build quality ideas from.....FIAT AND ALFA ROMEO? Every European car builder turns out junk, even Mercedes. Look at the resale of a Mercedes 5 to 10 years down the road. They sell for less than a Ford or Chevy car. There's a good reason, they break often and expensive to fix.

During the pandemic, the only cars selling for under MSRP were Fiat and Alpha. Both crown jewels of Stelantis.

This is a perfect storm that we got caught in. We really should have pushed harder for the financial gains we got last year, during the 2021 negotiations. The industry is at a crossroads. Now remember the union has been flat out told EVs will not take as many people to build. The EVs are coming because of the Democratic policies, and the union is still going to endorse Biden. Also JNAP is fuckin up because of the managers here. Far too many in boss positions who are not qualified to be a boss. Put as much money away as you can and spruce up that resume. At this point after 5 years here, I'm getting the hell out of here. I had a boss who quit last year flat out tell me when the big wigs came through they were not happy with JNAP and WTAP. What I still can't figure out with Tavares is why he changed his mind on EVs. Last November I saw a vid where he's at a symposium and gets asked why we hadn't gone all in on EVs to the level of Ford and GM. Remember we really didn't have much of an EV portforlio last year. Tavares said point blank we need to see what the outcomes are in the upcoming elections in the US and Europe. I couldn't believe a CEO actually said something smart. Now the change of heart. The left wants these EVs folks. As much as some of you may not want to hear that, that is the truth. Choose wisely come November. Godpseed to you all.

When you cannot sell your product, you cannot maintain your staff. Cars are not selling, therefore Stellantis is going toes up here in the U.S.A. If you cannot sell a Challenger SVT for 20k your market has vanished.
Who’s the reason for that? Stellantis raised their MSRP by more than 20% for cars and trucks than had no changes for almost a decade! Make that make sense my friend. 100k for a jeep is insane

This is a simple strategy by Tavares. He is going to manufacture Chinese-designed vehicles in low cost geographies, slap Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler grilles on them, and try to sell them for US union worker prices.
He will eventually try the same approach in Europe as well, but will sacrifice US plants and workers long before the European facilities get touched.
This will fail, but not before he gets a golden parachute.

The UAW (United Auto Workers) 41 day strike cost Ford $1.3 billion dollars the 40 day strike cost General Motors $800 million and stellantis 46 day cost less than $800 million dollars.
With this the average car price would go up $850-$900. The union got some profit sharing stellantis had a $20 billion profit all the employees union and management got $2 billion and that includes Tavares $39.5 million. So no,union costs have not adversely affected prices

They only designed the Hornets and new charger but the interior on the vehicle could only get better because the bar is so low! It’s really not that hard to beat the current interior
