Being in a polish classroom is pretty much the same as in an American one, you just only talk about Poland and its great victories, sometimes about how evil Germany, russia, sweden and Austria are, and sometimes even about heroes for the polish warsaw rebellion.

I'm not sure if the Japanese in 1945 would not understand classical Japanese. Classical Japanese is typically taught in high school would probably make the surrender be more poetic...and include weird Japanese innuendos/symbolism. (Btw Classical Japanese grammar is extremely difficult, but fun to sing! It's also the language used in Kabuki theater)

To explain the one about Persephone and Hades. Hades was Persephone’s uncle and he basically kidnapped her and brought her to the underworld. But, she liked it there. So she and Hades got married and struck a deal that she would stay with Hades for 3/4 of the year in the underworld and would return home in the Fall to help her mother with the harvest.
