The pacific theater was an absolute mess. Here are some reasons why: You could get multiple diseases, trench foot, a foot or two of rain, mud that can swallow you whole, and a lot of other things that can ruin your life.

"Terra Nova do Bacalhao" - New found land of cod.

I think it’s much worse being sent to the pacific theatre because you I’ll be dealing with a nation who would rather die then to surrender, you I’ll either be picked off by snipers, get ambushed, or get killed during a night raid while asleep. And even if lucky enough to avoid those, you also got the tropical environment which includes diseases, wildlife, etc.
