- This Boy is a song by The Beatles. Although credited to Lennon/McCartney, it was mainly composed by John Lennon. "This Boy" was performed on The Beatles' second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show.
Colorized Using Deoldify:AI
Show: The Morecambe and Wise Show (63)
Vocals: John, Paul, And George.
Instrumental: Fifth Beatle
This video has gotten a ton of attention recently, its really old and bad.
so let me clarify some things.
1. I changed the audio to avoid a copyright claim, i used an instrumental and put the vocals back on it.
2. This was made using an AI colorization software so its not that good. my newer colorizations are better.
3. I don't remember why I watermarked it.
Hey, you’ve messed up the sound on this something shocking! Take it down, you’re making the greatest band ever sound crap.
Here’s what they really sounded like;

@@GrahamMack Woah, Cool it buddy, I'm doing no such thing
@@GrahamMack I am aware thats what they sound like, I am a Beatles fan after all. I had too change the audio to avoid a copyright claim.
@@LongTallSally1963 You didn’t HAVE to do anything, you could have just left it alone and not posted a video with bad sound.
The greatest band of all time. Hands down.
👐👐👐👐👐👐👐👐👐
heres no dumb asses
Yes and it's not even close!
You're right but many people today don't realize that they were the true peak of human civilization and culture. With the direction humanity has gone in since then, I can't see the Beatles ever being eclipsed in the future.
Johns’ vocal is amazing.
Loved John, the heart and soul of this band. All so talented. ❤
John Lennon was such a great singer, everyone forgot what a fabulous rhythm guitar player he was as well.
Agreed ! He was a fantastic rhythm guitarist! I play guitar and play it well and trust me ALL the Beatles were excellent musician’s especially George
Mike Pachelli does sone amazing dissections if his songs and yes he was an amazing rhythmic guitarist, specially he used to break time signatures and switching tempos, often hard to sing along with.
The Best,,,Easy.......
No body did & he is was RIP Legend !!!
Just love the early Beatles. You can just feel the energy, passion and closeness amongst the guys. The are quite simply the best of all time. Great singers and musicians.
Well said! Glad you enjoyed, feel free to check out my other videos, I think they're much better then this one personally.
I really live the early Beatles too
The band that caught the world by surprise. New style, new music that is not cliche'. Every album is full of multiple hit songs. Every album different than the previous one and everyone followed. I'm so glad that I lived it all
John’s voice. That edge. Amazing.
He was never Flat, like Paul quite often,Paul's even Flatter now.
@@alfching2499 Idiotic statement
John's mic is so low in the mix
@@da_great_mogulremember this was back in the late 60s, technology was not as good as it today..you ok buttercup?
Also, this wasn't the real audio for the show, I had to swap it with a mix I made to avoid a copyright block worldwide. I'm not particularly proud of it.
Wonderful singers and composers! The best forever!!
John wrote some really good songs before he got lazy.
@@jaelge when did he got lazy?
Good times
lennon getting greater with each passing moment in 2022
Lennon was a force.
Been a fan since I was 10 yrs old, I’m almost 70 and they are still # 1 in my heart ❤
I never get tired of this master piece song ""This Boy"" by the BEATLES
John Lennon voice never gets old
neither will he
It never ceases to amaze me how two great singing and writing talents like John and Paul (not to mention George) grew up within walking distance of each other. What were the odds?
The Beatles live on for eternity johns voice was so awesome
Johns voice....WOW!!!
When “Meet The Beatles” was released in U.S. January 64 I believe, it was the 1st album where every song was great. We used to pick up and move the needle on a song that wasn’t that good. Until MTB was released.
I have meet the Beatles too
I would argue A Hard Day's Night is the first but you do you
That was the Beatles, there was never a bad song in their whole career. No other band achieved that.
@@Bruce-1956 lol yes there was
@@Retrogamer985 Which
John's guitar is so dominate. I love it!
I'm a relatively well balanced 63 year old ("When I'm 64" on December 8, a crummy 21 b-day). Every time I hear "This Boy" I tear up. Every time! It worries me. It really is the most beautiful song ever written (IMO)
Listen to "I'll be back"
The song "when I'm 64" would be good for next b-day ❤
My favorite song is "I saw her standing there" 2nd is "Let it be"
The sound is interesting because you can hear the guitar work so clearly as it has been isolated. The boys are very confident guitarists and singers, far better than some critics make out.
This is such a beautiful song.
Just love John's voice , listen to him sing rain , like Liam Gallagher says his voice makes you happy sad, angry so emotional, only he and elvis can do that
jeff buckley
Listen to McCartney in the closing minutes of 'Hey Jude'....
Whatever it is. John's voice is so amazing and magnificent 😍 💖 💕
Ringo's song.
The Beatles have always been number one, in my book. Everyone else is just competing for second place.
Beautiful song. Thanks guys. You'll always have a place in my heart ❤.
Love watching these early clips of the Beatles when you see them still enjoying what they're doing and the way they worked together ... Ringo sits there and makes playing the drums look so easy and the others harmonies are terrific
Yep. No-one has bettered them yet. IMO❤
Love any song Lennon's is in
Paul giving John a little appreciation look after middle eight. Priceless.
wow i've never seen this before. great live performance
Oh , how wonderful ! The genius will never happen again !
John had the voice of an angel
he has now
No other band will ever match the Beatles!
The Beatles are the best ever. So talented and good looking. Beautiful memories
John's rhythm guitar is really mic'd up to the forefront here .... it overpowers George and Paul's instruments ..... great way to learn the rhythm guitar part here .......
ruined it bad mix
I love this because you can hear Lennon's guitar loud and clear! I've never seen this footage before either, colorized or not! It's great, thank you!
He says in the description that the instrumental tracks are substituted. I think that means it's not Lennon.
\\\\\
It's not Lennon -it's a copy band track.
@@dixonpinfold2582 ovbio no es Lennon
Those was the good old days
My favourite Beatles song
I’m glad you explained the vocal instrument mix. I rather have a good audio instead of colorization. John’s voice is amazing and comes through regardless.
Good way to learn the rhythm guitar part!
This might be my favorite Beatle song ever! There is so many I like it’s hard to pick a number one but this is up there. Top five for sure.
One of the Beatles' finest ballads. It shows that there was more to the group than uptempo rock and roll.
@@allenjones3130 The three part harmony vocals makes the whole song.
Never seen this rendition, though I might have actually seen it when it played on the Ed Sullivan show in the 60's. Who can remember? Not as acousticallly harmonious as the recorded version, but still a favorite song of the early days. Damn! we were lucky to have had them when we did!
Bitter /Sweet feeling just hearing them and knowing those days are long gone
Oh that clears up why the bass sounds so different. Excellent Joy...You R very creative. I love the Beatles! Greatest Band of all time!
So sweet song!! Beatles... the perfect meeting of 4 persons, I mean, 4 genius!!! ❣💖👏👏👏👏👏👏 Fascinating!!
The audio is breathtaking
I love the Beatles 💕💕💕💕👌
John was the MAN in the Beatles. My respects to Paul & George, but Lennon was the soul & genius of this group.
I'm not sure who said John couldn't sing a love song???? Just listen to this beauty.
Rubbish ! Paul was the tireless, ambitious, force behind the Beatles. But with that said there will never ever be two collaborators that will do what John & Paul accomplished together. Beatles forever 🎸
@@edwardmcmanus7496 I respect your opinion about Paul, but Lennon gave the Beatles that rough edge that McCartney would've have been able to.
I'm a huge Beatles fan I'm sure just like you are, but Paul's music were mainly love ballads which there's nothing wrong with that, but I've always liked the more avant-garde sound of John Lennon.
In fact, my all time favorite Beatles song is "Norwegian Wood" that for the time it came out on the Rubber Soul album in 1965, was really pushing the boundaries of where the Fab Four's music was headed, especially with George Harrison's beautiful sitar playing, which was completely unheard of for that time.
If you want music for a Broadway play, then Paul is your guy, but if you want a song to inspire a nation, then John will always be that guy.
But as Frazier Smith who was a very famous Los Angeles DJ at KLOS once said, "Paul was great, John was great, BUT together they'll NEVER be anyone better."
A Saudade desse tempo é imensa.
The vocals are wonderful
That's very true. Most LP's that you bought in the early 60's had one or two good songs on them. The rest were what they called, "Album fillers". The Meet the Beatles album changed all that. I would run home from my Grammer school so I could listen to the top ten countdown my local radio station. The top 5 songs were Beatle songs. That was unheard of back then.
I never see this perfomance. The Beatles: the best band forever. The band change the world of music. ❤
And thank you for your good work.
It was this time frame right up to Rubber Soul I considered their finest work. Can never get enough
I see the early Beatles in black & white, owing to their humble Liverpool beginnings and the privations of post-WW ll England. The lads sorta brought color back into the world.
A song about his mother, apparently. Brilliant!
Julian and Sean did a rendition of this song. They were brilliant ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The instrumentals are a match
Beatles 4 ever.
The Beatles enough said 👍
Beautiful melody.
Every young person that I have introduced their music too who had never heard them before loved it. I will never stop doing it.
Pauls voice is so beautiful.
I always thought ‘Yes It Is’ was very similar to this song. Love both.
Came up with ‘Yes it is’ because of this song. I don’t remember the exact reason, but it was to match ‘This boy’ or was meant to be a follow up.
The Beatles didn't often (if at all) repeat themselves, 'Yes it Is' was the closest, but even it's a great track, they were that good.
The unique picking style of John's right hand is due to the fact that Kauffman's arm could not be folded.
Los 4 Fantásticos !!..Insuperables !!
Beatles para siempre
I was a boy then..all those years ago..now old.. never be thT storm again!!! love
It is fantastic, thanks for doing the all the work on the video file. It is just amazing to see The Beatles in 2022, so thanks!
My pleasure!
........un temazo.......👏👏
I like the lead bass guitar by Paul
John Lennon was amazing
50 years later where still talking about them as I always say live love and leave a legacy The Beatles have certainly done that the universe must of pissed itself laughing when it put those four guys together and said to it self enjoy because this lot are a one off 🙏
Damn, its hard to strum a guitar like John.
No it's not. I think he's mainly playing D - Bm - Em7 - A - the magic 50's chord progression. Good song though and being easy doesn't make it bad.
@@2011littlejohn1 "Strum". I believe kemagic was referring to rhythm, not the chords.
@@TheJoshtheboss Well the strumming is pretty standard 50's rock ballad so I assumed Kemgic didn't know them.
He knew how to play the banjo. Maybe that helped some.

This girl loves this song and The Beatles ❤️‼️
That is some nice guitar playing.
un grupo sensacional
This song 🎶 will always haunt 😢me. I guess it’s the simple lyrics about a guy who lost his love to another man or maybe the memory of my older brother playing it with his old guitar back in the 60s
