  • Hairdresser goes shopping for a full hair routine. Both at Target for drug store, affordable products as well as Sephora for Salon quality finds! Then compares which is worth their price tag.
    Good quality shouldn’t be defined by the price of the product but rather the ingredients in them. SO I put my pro skills to work and compared ingredients, shopped both ends of the price scale and tried each product to help you understand which products are in fact actually better! I had a lot of fun filming this video I hope you found it helpful, if you did please don’t forget to share, like and subscribe! Thank you for watching!

    I also want to add…speak with your dollars. If you buy something and it doesn’t work, take it back! I save all my receipts until I know I’m keeping the product.

    I remember when Nexxus sold out and went mainstream. They discontinued some really awesome products and changed the formulation of others. One that’s been consistent for me has been Paul Mitchell. Mostly my issue with product is smell. When they get perfumey I’m out.

    Glad to know what shampoo and conditioner to buy from target! Is there a video that continues the search for a good affordable hair mask?

      @teeeff8337 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always put Moroccan oil or some sort of oil on my hair before curling it. I believe it’s ok, and actually protects the hair. It also helps the curling iron slide through your hair better

    This might be a bit of a silly question but is it called Aussie because it has something to do with Australia?
    I don’t know because quite often of the people from the US or UK seem to stock it in local drug stores, but I have never once seen the brand in any shop here down under.
    Have always wanted to know

    I heard that drug store brand that carry’s high end products such as those bed head , nexus etc aren’t really the same ingredients as if they were sold in a salon? Have you heard this?

    • @jessie330
      @jessie330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would really like to know the answer to I doubt it knock off stuff or from a company other than advertised, but I wonder if they use lesser quality ingredients in the cheaper supermarket branded stuff.
      Kinda like how designer brands also send stuff to retail outlets that is only ever meant for the retail outlet and isn’t of the same quality as the stuff in the high-end stores.
      Same company same licensing same brand just made from a poorer quality materials

    Too many silicones. I didn't realize Olapex, except No 3, had silicones. So mine sits collecting dust. I can't stand the feeling of silicones on my hair. Have you tried JVN? I'm hooked! I was using Davines, JVN blows them out of the water! Congratulations on the baby, he's a cutie!

    • @Ellebangs
      @Ellebangs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually think only no.6 and 7 have silicones. I need to triple check. I have talked about in a previous video.

    • @luv2garden132

      @@Ellebangs the conditioner has Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, Dimethicone PEG-7, PEG-7 Amodimethicone, Amodimethicone, and Polysilicone-15. The shampoo has Amodimethicone, DivinylDimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer...so I'll pass. I understand there are some that claim to be water soluble, Dimethicone isn't one of them, I'd rather not put any on my hair if I can help it. I can't find a developer that doesn't have Dimethicone in it, so I'm stuck there when coloring. Give JVN a try. He has a moisturizing shampoo & conditioner that I think are really good! Added bonus of no silicones 😊

    • @toreymiller4032

      I’m so glad I saw your comment! I was using Davines and have been phasing out silicones and trying to find my new go-to so I’ll have to try JVN

    • @luv2garden132
      @luv2garden132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@toreymiller4032 a lot of Davines products don't have silicones. The problem is a lot do! My salon is under the assumption that NO Davines product has them! They're so very wrong! If you watch Jonathan's videos, he uses a mousse and hairspray with zero silicones, Authentic Beauty Concept. Love the mousse, but I don't like hard hold hairsprays. I'd rather a texturing spray like Davines, without silicones! Thought I'd found one in Fekkai, but it has absolutely no hold whatsoever..lol Argh
