    Sylvia, I was just on Amazon looking for something to tone my hair in between salon visits. Looked at a few options, then came across the clairol shimmer lights permanent cream toner. Scrolled through the pictures and saw YOU. Do you actually promote this product or are they using your likeness? Curious because I will probably buy this product if you actually recommend it. If not, you should know they are using your likeness lol

    Tip for the cheap shampoo that has pretty aesthetic in your bathroom; Buy your drugstore brand shampoo and transfer it into a pretty hand soap dispenser. Like those cute ones you can buy at Target or Marshall’s for $5. You can recycle and re-use as you refill! 💋

    I have dry damaged hair and overtime I learned that it is more expensive to try many different cheap products trying to find the right one because at the end none of them worked for me. Then I decided to try expensive products: kerastase, sebastian, olaplex, and my hair improved enormously! It is almost as beautiful as it was when I was a very young girl with perfect virgin hair 👧 my favorite products (for my damaged, dry, aging hair) are: shampoo: kerastase nutritive bain satin 2 & olaplex, hair mask: olaplex #8 (instead of conditioner), leave on treatment: sebastian no breaker leave in spray, and kerastase nutritive nectar thermique. Expensive products but hey, I go to the hair salon only 2 or 3 times/year just to get a trim, and I do my nails always by myself so... I can expend a little more on hair care, it is totally worthy 😇

      Do you use olaplex#8 in shower or after shower

    • @justmeagain7
      @justmeagain7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sqlara I always apply my hair mask after shower, because if I let it for just 2 or 3 minutes it is not enough for my hair to get the benefits. I put a towel on my hair after shower, get dressed, then apply my hair mask (Olaplex #8. Other that work for me as well are: "Kerastase Nutritive", "Joico K pak color therapy") and let it for at least 20 min. Then remove, towel again, then apply a leaving in treatment (Olaplex often. Once every week: "Sebastian no breaker". After dying my hair with henna: "Color Wow dream coat.") I have been using other shampoo, cheaper and very good as well: "L'Oreal Absolut Repair" and taking collagen supplements daily, I think it has improved my hair and skin in general (not sure though, as I use many creams and good hair products at the same time, difficult to know what worked among all that!)

    The products I use on my hair out of the shower is the Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Leave in Conditioning Spray right after I shower, let it air dry a bit, then use the Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil UV & Heat Protectant Styling Spray right before I blow dry, then I finish off my ends with the It's a 10 Miracle Styling Potion to combat frizz & futher hydrate the ends. These 3 products are essential to my soft, protected hair. In the shower for the most part I use the Paul Mitchell Lavender Mint Moisturizing Shampoo & Conditioner. Quality, doesn't weigh my hair down, doesn't break the bank, & my hair is so soft after.

    Are silicones in shampoo/conditioner still considered bad? It seems like it’s hard to find frizz taming products that don’t have silicone in them.

    • @niharikabhatnagar3930
      @niharikabhatnagar3930 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frizz is because of silicones. Look at indie brands

    • @unapologeticallyme9522
      @unapologeticallyme9522 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If it has silicones and it works... use it.
      I use it and helps my hair.
      Keeps frizz down,smoothes my hair,mends split ends, seals in moisture.
      Before all these different hair products came out, everything had sulphates and silicones.
      Silicones aren't bad especially if you have thick,coarse or curly / wavy hair.
      If you want you can use a clarifying shampoo to detox your hair from buildup of silicones

    • @MrsBungle78
      @MrsBungle78 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@unapologeticallyme9522 Yeah, good point! That’s basically what I’ve done in the past. I was just wondering if silicones are still on the “naughty” list as far as hair care products go. Y’know how these things go in cycles? Lol

    Love this video because im noticing more people are trimming the fat in their beauty routines, me included. I started using Aleppo bar soap to cleanse my hair when I learned it was a natural cure for dandruff and I use a drop of my old shampoo for scent and extra nourishment. Im never buying another shampoo again! I found Cult & King products which are fantastic for all textures even my course natural hair. Black hair lines offer so many products that do 1 thing and it gets expensive so fast, im so happy I can strip it down and use what works FINALLY!!!

    • @Ellebangs
      @Ellebangs  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Some Olaplex products do contain small amounts of silicones. I know the number 6 does. dimethicone is one of the least significantly sticky, heavy, or thick silicone. I may make a video explaining silicones and parabens. Also what role they play in hair treatment. I don’t t believe that ALL amounts of silicone are bad. I do think they were very much abused in past years and therefore got a really bad reputation.

    Congrats 🎊🎉🎈🍾 on your little one! One could apply the same rules to skincare, but I love using my beautifully packaged gorgeous Chanel and Dior skincare, it makes me happy. Same I suppose is true of hair stuff. What many may not know is it’s not doing anything better for your hair , that expensive shampoo, right? Or beautifully packaged skincare. But Ce la Vie, we all need things that brighten up our day. I need hair help! I’d love a virtual consult! Your hair looks gorgeous it’s natural color, so healthy. @teeeff8337 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know you’re not asking me lol but I believe the Dyson hair dryer is the least damaging to your hair. My hair stylist has one and always uses it on my hair after processing bleach and my hair feels amazing after. But I’m not going to spend $400 or whatever crazy price it is. I use a $150 T3 hair dryer that I got on sale for $99. It doesn’t seem to damage my hair, and wasn’t outrageously priced. T3 has a bunch of blow dryers to choose from (apparently they use the same technology as nasa, whatever that means lol) and first time customers get 15% off and they often have flash sales on top of that.

      Frizz doesn't actually mean damage. You can have natural frizz texture to your hair. In this care is all bout treating it rather than preventing. If your frizz is coming from damage then it is wise to heal the hair rather than just weight down the frizz.
