    Programing note, please read! Starting today, I’m altering the channel’s weekly schedule. The big change, for the moment at least, is that I’ll be moving from 3 full flight uploads per week, to 2 full flight uploads per week. I’ll still be uploading daily, but instead of full flights publishing on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, full flights will now publish on Wednesday and Saturday. Why am I doing this? The simple answer is money… I run this channel by myself, and I don’t work for/have relatives that work for any airline. I pay for every single flight you see on this channel out of my own pocket, and I’m simply not bringing in enough money to pay for over 150 flights per year. As I’ve discussed recently in other posts, TH-cam Shorts continue to drastically change the viewing habits of TH-cam users, and they continue to dominate my channel’s monthly views. TH-cam Shorts now account for over 60% of my channel’s monthly views. In the last 28 days, 17 of my top 20 performing videos are Shorts. I make literal pennies on the dollar for Short views vs. long form content views. To give you an idea… For 400,000 traditional views, I make roughly $1,000-$2,000 depending on my CPM that period. Meaning that for a normal month, pre-Shorts, where the channel would bring in 1,200,000 views, I’d come out with between $3,000-$6,000. The high end of that was rare, but did happen on occasion. For 400,000 Short views, I make $8-$12. With Shorts now comprising over 50% of my monthly views, my revenues have literally been cut in half, or more, over the last 12 months. I’m doing well if I bring in over $2,000 now… And that’s just not sustainable when needing to fill 156 full flight slots per year. I can only do what I can afford, and the current 3 new flights per week model isn’t sustainable anymore. By moving to 2 full flights per week, that drastically cuts down on the total number of flights I must take each year, which saves me a lot of money. I continue to greatly appreciate everyone’s support! This channel would not exist the way it does now without all the support you’ve given me over the years. I wish I wasn’t having to make a change like this, but ultimately I have to do what will ensure the channel’s survival, and I can’t do that if I run out of money.

      Is it better to join Patreon or to join as a TH-cam subscriber? If you prefer not to say, that's ok too.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ferzon69 I prefer Patreon. Patreon has a much better system for me to post member only stuff, and Patreon has a direct messaging system, where YT has no way for me to message my members directly. I only have channel memberships turned on because YT incentivized me to do so last year and gave me a bonus for every member I signed up. But overall, I still prefer Patreon in terms of being able to communicate with patrons easiest.

    At the landing the people were shocked of how hard the turbulence had gotten to the plane🤣😂

    I think all of us appreciate what you do for the aviation TH-cam community. I subscribed in January-ish this year, and to support all your hard work and dedication to creating the best aviation content, I watch all of your uploads including older videos! My hope is by watching from start to finish that it will help with the TH-cam algorithm 😊

    2:24:00 .. over in the cargo area is a 747. It appears to be the former firefighting Supertanker, now converted to freight for National. They decided to keep the red paint and just added National's titles. Nice catch.

    Stunning flight! I love the ones with turbulence, and this one certainly qualifies ;) I once flew LGW-EWR, a 8 hour flight. It was September and the Atlantic was just packed with storms. It didn't matter what the pilots did, we just flew in clouds almost all the way and service stopped several times due to the almost constant mild to moderate turbulence. I remember the captain coming on and apologizing after several attempts to increase and lower the altitude. When we finally landed, we were over an hour late, my connection to CLT was cancelled due to the severe weather and I had to wait 3 hours for the next flight. When I got on that plane, an Embraer 145, we taxied at the pace of a NY traffic-jam until finally the pilots just parked the thing for about an hour. When we finally got clearance, a 777 had just departed in front of us, and I think ATC was stressed and gave T O clearance too early. We rotated, the gear came up and then the right wing dropped, and I mean dropped so that I looked straight down into the runway lights. The pilots immediately righted the plane and explained that they had hit the jetwash from the airplane ahead.
    I'm not afraid of flying, I love it, in fact, but after the long, turbulent flight over the Atlantic, I really needed a drink. Alcohol, however, is not sold on these flights, so I had to do with ginger ale and peanuts. Btw, almost everyone on that flight asked for a drink, so was not alone in my "need" ;)
    We got put in a holding pattern for about an hour, due to storms, but finally I got to Charlotte, 6 hours late. Then a long drive to Asheville followed. It's the first and only time I've ever had jet-lag travelling west. Normally I only get it travelling back to Europe. But after that experience, I have no patience with people who shout and scream during turbulence, so well done you, for surviving a lot of hysteria on that long, beautiful approach ;)

    I rarely even listen to the shorts, because I love these full flight videos. I just knew that might happen, and it's a very bad idea for TH-cam to have even allowed all those shorts. I think the only ones I do watch are about wild animals for the most part. What's even worse is that today's generation doesn't even want to work, and they're going to regret this, and they don't even realize that they're worse off than older generations because of their selfish and hyperstimulation drive. We need to slow down and take the time to enjoy the finer things of life!

    How you do handle a seatmate that wants to chat it up?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don’t ever give them the opportunity haha. I wear over ear headphones 🎧 all the time when I’m flying, even if I’m not listening to anything. If they try to say something to me, like “hey; how’s it going?” I just give them the head nod and continue to do whatever I was doing. I’m not trying to be rude. I’m sure they’re a nice person. I’m just working and I need to not have my own voice in the background for 3 hours 😂. If they insist I will chat but before we push back I just tell them… “Hey I’m not trying to be rude, but I have to record this for my job and I have to do that during the flight.” No one has ever questioned it haha 😂

      Breeze's E190's and E195's only have their "Nice" and "Nicer" products. They do not feature the "Nicest" or what they now call "Breeze Ascent." So, assuming you're referring to the first class seats that are now called Ascent, no this aircraft doesn't have that.
