Thanks for the video James. I think you aren't giving yourself enough credit for your experience driving not only on sims but in real life is why you got gold. You make it look easy in your videos. I will give your settings a try, but I have a feeling I won't be winning races like you.
Thanks James for this video, I enjoy LMU so much, it just gives me so much racing fun, with great ffb, sound, physics and the online races with the best netcode is fun too. THis sim has so much potential
I got le mans ultimate because of you James and your streams and its been an adjustment, but I hope that this video changes that👍🏻 Lol just changed my settings to your settings and got my first online win😂
For neutral you just need to pull both paddle shifters to activate it, just like rf2. There is no need to reach your keyboard. I think there is an option for it to activate in the wheel settings.
Yeah at 3:50 you can see "Use simultaneous shift up & down neutral activation". It's one of the great rF2 settings that came across. Sometimes in iRacing I knock into neutral by accident and I miss this setting. But yeah, don't be reaching for a neutral button when this works so well.
Yep, I know you can do that - The reason I'm not doing that is because I don't want to go into neutral by accident which can happen when mapped to both paddle shifters. Having it on the keyboard means I can't go into neutral by accident.
As you were talking about the weight of the car in your video with the Mc Laren, i found that setting the FFB in game to 60% (that's where the game starts clipping on the most demanding curves), and adjusting your FFB level in the software gave you a better sens of the weight of the car but also on the mass transfer. I added also a bit of friction in the software (but I run on a Simagic Ultimate so it might slightly differ for your Simucube, you get the idea :) ) Can't wait to try the Mc Laren !
Yep, I know you can do that - The reason I'm not doing that is because I don't want to go into neutral by accident which can happen when mapped to both paddle shifters. Having it on the keyboard means I can't go into neutral by accident.
Hi James, nice video. You are my hero and I have recently got a Logitech g29 and I am starting teamsport kart academy and I have just got a helmet and suit today. Hope you get the call for another race weekend.😄🏎️💨
Hey James, great Video and thank you for these insights. You can tilt the viewing angle, if increasing the seat height isn’t enough. It’s the same like in rF2 (right shift+increase fov)…Hope I could help!😅
Really awesome video James. I was struggling with finding the best FFB settings for my SC2 Pro and HE Sprints and your video and settings changed my game feel 180 degrees, so thank you mate. I know you are not big on the iRacing world, however do have any recommendations for the SC2 Pro with IR? Appreciate the vids and enjoy your off time!
Hey James I was just wondering if your ffb settings have changed at all since the last update. Thanks for the awesome content and good luck on the track
Hello James, wondering why many of you fast drivers do not use the triple screen mode when using 49” super ultrawides? Does it not bother you when the sides are stretched or am I missing something crucial? I drive the super ultrawide as well and love it, this info would really ne appreciated!🎉
I've got a custom made DD wheel that runs about 15nm of torque. When it comes to smoothing, should I try a value around 4 or so? I have been playing before with no smoothing because I always hear that smoothing is bad... Also I had no idea what lock horizon did, that makes sense I've gotta give it a shot Also, if you have gigabit internet, is there any reason why you limit your network settings to 10/20mbps? I have 1.5gbps and I run them at the highest settings haha, but I am not that experienced with sims and I don't know if it really makes any difference!
I'd try the smoothing on 8 tbh, always found on both RF2 & LMU that it's better when it's that high. For the internet question, there was a RF2 guide that calculated what you should have these settings on depending on your internet speed, and that's what it calculated for me.
Does the Reset FFB not work for you? I get the exact same issue with a Moza wheel but I've mapped a button on it to reset FFB so every time I enter a session I just press it and then it works again.
@@RyJones90 no it doesnt. But whenever it happens it happens for all games, not just LMU. Thats why I have to restart my whole PC instead of just closing the game.
@james As for the brakes. I have the Black Sprint HE. My preload is a little under your 56kg. So if I add more like yours I would brake better and not scrub off speed?
I have a Simucube 1 (aka small Mige) that puts out 20nm at max. I'm going to try your settings anyways but go up with the in-game gain a bit. I'm not happy with the settings I'm currently using. My driving is the biggest issue by far but maybe this will help me get a little more comfortable.
Tried lmu again with your settings but the same issues remain, taking the lmp2 around Imola, at aque mineralli, if the rear starts to come around, there's no "seat of pants" on the ffb to inform you of what is happening, you just spin and crash
Just use common sense. LMP2 are slippery cars to begin with, but exiting Aque Minerale is always sketchy because you're turning whilst accelerating uphill. If it happens under braking you're locking up.
@@AllardWolff I'm using ac and iracing as benchmarks, in both, the ffb will inform you that the rear is starting to lose grip and/or sliding, then you just catch the slide and move on
@ no need to beat around the bush pal, your absolutely shit hot on these games and it’s got you into real racing and from what I’ve watched a rather decent one at that, keep it up mate, all I would say is post more😂😂 I enjoy the watch
I did a lot testing lmp2 and gte on the same track, as iR looks graphically very clearly, i was really impressed how more LMU felt like driving a race car while iR was quite smooth ffb and easily to handle it.
Interesting ingame FFB Smoothing setting you have. I am using a VRS Wheelbase, but anything higher than 3 feels like driving with a Logitech G29 wheel. I have 0 smoothing. Gives me the best direct feel for the car and the road.
Thans man, but i did everything, i am so struggling with LMU, i have a SC2pro, but i dont feel enough, it has weak FFB, also the steering torque is removed from december update, is there something missing?
I'm registered blind and new to LMU. I keep getting black flagged. Think it's because I've not made a pit stop in a race but when I drive into the pits and go to my pit box, nothing happens. I also can't find a way of backing out of the settings menu when I've gone to it from the home screen. Anyone able to help please?
Any updates on your settings? I bought LMU yesterday but there were much fewer things to change in the in-game wheel settings. I've heard so much good things and praise for how the game feels, but it truly felt like shit for me, so my guess is my settings were just not right. Nevertheless I ended up refunding it while I still could, because as it was yesterday for me, it was very unpleasant to drive.
LMU is great but sometimes my fps just die don't know why only online in hosted session with Hypercars I had this issue can't be my graphics because its smooth on Le Mans with a full grid so don't know why Server issues or track can't handle it I don't know 🤷♂️
Oh noo, James has a “loser” AMD graphics card! Just as i do 😁 Oh man, all the tensa cores in an Nvidia graphics card will make you at least 1 second a lap faster. I saw running some easy shadows to boost your frames but 200+ is a bit of overkill 🤪
Hello James, you know that LMU will probably shutdown very soon right ? Now that the studio is for sell, and looking at the health of this company, I don't give a lot of trust on the survive rate of this game :)
The low lock to horizon setting is very useful, thx James👍
Yeah really helped me when I figured that out
LMU is so good 🙌👍
I’m also enjoying it quite a lot🙂

This is exactly what I was looking for to setup LMU. I will be doing this tomorrow. Thanks.
Your LMU streams have been awesome James. Could you make a video on learning the lmp2/3 cats for beginners?
