This video has "Sponsored by Le Mans Ultimate" written all over it. I am thinking of un-sub if you don't go back to iRacing

Very curious to try GT3s in LMU😎 Good to have your input mate! Also totally agree with ACC having nailed that "weight" of the car. I dont have that in iracing and lmu that much, and in iracing I just dont feel connected with the road at all. Good game iracing but just not there in my feeling :)
Unban me from your channel streams pls
its been years, and it was because i was joking about ur 24h race.
Has it always felt that way jardier? With iracing and lmu? I've alwyas felt iracing is better then people make out tbh. Well not with details but with suspension feel and tires. But yeah idk maybe settings? Who knows but I do agree none feel like acc with the connection to the car. Tbh I'm shook whenever I hear anybody say acc ffb is bad. It blows my mind and makes no sense to me.
@@reviewforthetube6485 Yes iracing feels very good in many points, but the weight and tyres (as James mentioned) is just not there in the feeling. Im not hating on it its just fact when you drive these cars. No matter what ACC really nailed "weight" of the cars in the game (but some stuff is of course shit broken like suspension) :D
Thanks! Yeah naw i can see exactly what you are saying. I do belivee acc has it nailed more wirh feeling of being attatched. Luckily james said they seem to have gottwn these new gt3 cars pretty right. So nice to see lmu taking those steps to feel connected. @Jardier
@@banrtv unbanned but be careful next time!
Truly hope you stream this sim and blow it up. It needs and deserves it
The sim scene also needs that.
The game has so much potential
Really hope this sim get's popular too, lot's of potential.
Thanks for that insights James!
Maybe you can compare it soon to the new AMS2 1.6 Update when its there, that would be interesting.

No worries mate - Yes I need to try the new AMS2 update, a lot of people saying it's good!
Le Mans Ultimate is such an underrated sim.
If only they fixed the loadings and the optimization
@Puntatacosimuladores that's true, but once you get over those, you have something very special.
@@Puntatacosimuladores the fix is to buy ssd 990pro and 4090 14900K, I have this and no issue, load in 20seconds and high framerate
@@V-Racing hopefully they fix those
I love the ffb and sound of the game
💯
Your takes on sim physics etc are always fair and objective, it's quite a breath of fresh air in sim land ;)
No favoritism, just facts. Pretty much all the modern sims are good, but in different ways and they all have their limitations.
Thank you, exactly what I was thinking :)
I'm glad you think that, thanks man!
I think the actual onboard sound, like many in LMU, is spot on, there’s just not enough throatiness or base to them like you describe. Listen to the Toyota and the Cadillac for example. What’s there is pretty spot on, they just sound weak and a bit too digital.
Potentially, I think the actual sound in the Macca is a bit off. But yeah some cars are definitely closer
Be brutal and make them get it right, JB. I appreciate the fact that they asked you.
Knowing from my insanely small experience with the devs at LMU i have absolutely no doubt they will take it on board even to the point the released to public version will have some of the tweaks already in place.
I'm sure they will get it right👊
man i cant even describe how excited i am for them to release. Looking forward for some great content from you, James.
Gonna be goooood
"Whiney and weak" - Sounds like me in the gym 😂
😂
Thanks for your honest opinions, lets hope they can sort out those few points you mentioned
I'm sure they will!
You should do the same "review" in Raceroom, specially regarding all the new updates and the sounds.
A lot of people saying that, will give it a look👀
hearing you praise the feels of the car you drive in real life makes me excited to test all the cars out. Particularly the Corvette and Aston Evo which I've been wanting in ACC for forever.
Thank you James, you are a real sim racing ambassador (!)
🤝
I knew they were way slower when I watched the Spa WEC race earlier this year but when I saw how much slower I was like "I do faster times than that on my gamepad in ACC lmao" without realizing how much different the WEC version of the GT3s were at that point.
for the uneducated, waht are the differences?
@@goobingtons 10:24 or TL;DW: Slower cuz less Torque (=also less hp) and different aerodynamics (=less downforce)
@@vieldeutiger Also the tires are Goodyears instead of Pirellis
I reckon you're just absolutely cracked on a pad mate
I'd be interested in a GT3 comparison between RaceRoom GT3's and LMU GT3's. I feel like a lot of your observations about sound, feel over curbs, etc...those are strengths of RaceRoom.
Interestinggg
Let me add, as a point of curiosity, going around most tracks in a real GT3, is the steering wheel jerking and twitching all over the place? I could see it a place like Sebring, but LMU FFB just feels .... Wild. The FFB in sims like RaceRoom, iRacing and ACC feels like it's focused more on tire load than jerking all over the place on every surface irregularity. I hate adding dampening and filtering to quiet things down, but I feel like I have to dampen the crap out of my DD wheel on LMU. You tell me? How crazy is wheel feedback on a real McLaren 720 GT3?
14:03 the look of disappointment on your face when you were a lot slower than you thought you should be lmao 😂 haha
Always disappointing being slow
@@Jaaames welcome to my life brother 😂
I get what your saying about the cars feeling light. The new Aston martin on rennsport is just like that it's hard to post a quick time When you Can't feel the car underneath you. Also congrats on racing in jeddah man what a track. You'll have fun there
Cheers mate!
Thanks a lot for your honest and true comments, James 👍 Do you think they will consider your input before they launch the GT3-pack?
They made a few tweaks that I recommended before I made this video. A lot of suggestions I make in this video are quite substantial changes, so I think it will take some time to implement them.
it's pretty difficult to get the sound 100% right. You always have to make compromises somewhere. The simulation of the ABS in rF2 was really good. A really great video. I'm looking forward to the GT3 in LMU

No tyre warmers for gt3 cars is gonna be a recipe for disaster for most 😂
First turn at Monza patiently waiting.

Thanks for a great year of videos thus far, James! Proud to say you were firmly in my top 5 of my youtube gaming recap
Legend, thanks for the ongoing support🙂
I’ve NEVER understood how these companies can’t nail the sound. Like we have a billion on board videos of every car.
How do they even have an alpha/beta sound version and go “yeah that sounds about right”
Or
“Yeah that sounds terrible, but let’s hope sim racers, of all gamers, don’t notice this sounds NOTHING like the real car”
time and money isn't always on the dev's side. sometimes good enough is good enough when there are deadlines
@ I don’t remember the last time I requested the game to come out let alone come out at a decent time.
Asseto Corsa mod teams (like VRC, RSS, and others that are smaller etc… ) can NAIL the sound.
It boggles me tbh. It’s a sim. Not a half ass half done game.
Because they have to do a full motor sound simulation based on rpm, engine brake, etc., it's not just replacing the sound for an mp3.
@ oh I completely understand how sound implementation works. I’m just saying how they aren’t even remotely close when most modding teams do a much better job.
From what I understand it seems to be a bit more complex than that. You need high quality audio to put into a sim, so onboard videos on TH-cam aren't enough.
Can't wait for GT3 pack and Interlagos release!
Hope it will push LMU further in terms of online racing!
Regarding you feel about the weight of the car. From my experienc rF2 and LMU are both pretty sensetive to fuel load and how it affects FFB. Considering that we have only a limited amount of FFB signal generated by the forces on the steering rack - also the reason why curbs feel very severe in pMotor titles - it's pretty obvious why making the car feel heavier with a light vehicle isn't as straight forward if you want to avoid clipping once the tank is full. ;)
Interesting points
Nice review James! If you are keen, RRRE would be another cool addition to this comparison and AMS2 👌
Copy that!
None of the sims can get the onboard McLaren V8 sound right. Same goes for the Porsche GT3's, particularly with the transmission whine.
Thanks James for this video, looking forward to test the GT3s in LMU as currently this is the only sim that does it for me.
🤝
I completely agree with the weight. In RF2, every car feels very light and not very connected to the road. As you said you feel the difference in ACC
Rf2 and LMU are the only 2 games i feel i’m in a car connected to the road with a good ffd feedback 😅
@@ducat7493 Rf2 -TOP
@@ducat7493I know what you mean. In RF2 compared to other sims the car feel very light
I feel connected to the road in LMU, but the cars feel too light. In ACC it's almost the other way around.
@@Jaaames А почему они должны быть тяжелыми? Они облегченные, с мощным двигателем, жесткой подвеской и большими цепкими колесами. Они и должны ощущаться легкими.
Sim hardware has come so far, sims need to catch up. There are some good approximations, but I hope we see improvements to take advantage of motion platforms, active pedals, belt tensioners, haptics, etc.
Interesting point
The reason i bouth the season pass was the announcment for gt3 cars coming later, i just wish they added alot more multiplayer racing, like rolling group lobbies with 20-30 min races, for me its not to much online content to play with at the moment so im still waiting for the game to get more content, like gt3 cars! glad they still keep pushing content for the game!
Slowly but surely they are getting there I think
This is SIM Racing cars are being developed to be as close to real life as possible, this includes the sound, Surely!
Please make the sound as real to life LMU that's surely a must!!
Moza wheel base can use driver road sense or ffb effect qualizer settings, lower FFB 30hz between 60hz some. In game FFB smooth set to 0. After that car over curb feels weak now, not lost much other weak force feelings.
Race room also have one, and in my opinion it's great. You should try it.
Roger that
Sound not bad, can't wait the LMGT3
They are so smart for this!
Ps: Amazing video reaching everywhere accross Europe...
Not a gt3 fan but one I like is the Merc GT3. Let’s see how that feels when it arrives
Makes absolutely no sense the FIA making LMGT3 slow af. I attended the Interlagos round and I knew something was different with those cars when I heard the Porsche, its sounded like absolute dog💩 😂😂 all the cars sounded a bit muted to their IMSA counterparts tbh, now I know why
Amazing James I have always thought that the McLaren 720 Evo and other GT3/4 doesn’t sound like the real thing. But I must admit I’ve never driven one before but that would definitely be an experience. How do you get into doing motorsport? As a beginner just starting small racing and getting on track in track days? To hopefully get signed up?
It's a long story mate, I should probably do a video explaining how I got into the position I'm in. Will have a think about that!
happy to see Im not alone without the shadows, they are too much distracting for me
Yeah & they cost me some FPS too, hence why I got rid
8:35 In terms of the feeling of weight, I think Rennsport does a pretty good job too.
9:00 never noticed that curb grabbing effect until today.. cost me 2 DNFs
Glad you agree
the sound of the car is ok to me cuz if they make it realistic as ur onboard it will just f**k ur ears after 5 minutes and its a sim game so u will give hours and hours to it , sound is good
exactly it’s distorted on his gopro
@@Civer505 it's not a gopro & the audio is pretty accurate. It does sound like that in actual car.
Great vid mate! Will you post more LMU races soon? Or stream?
I'll look to get back to some LMU before the years out for sure
Thanks for the feedback. It is always good to hear from real pilot. Cheers, Dam, real pilot also but flying bus in my case 😅

Awesome James. Sounds like we are in for a treat 😎
I think so
Looks and sounds very promising! Thanks for showcasting the McLaren!

8:00 oh im excited to hear about that!!
Good stuff, I'm glad
This is so cool!! Love your vids James!! 😀

Wow nice that it's McLaren. Everyone speculated it would be M4 and Corvette.
No better person to test the GT3 cars than a sim racer and IRL racer of the GT3 cars especially Maclaren.
Any plans to partake in the 24H nurburgring any time soon? love the content, been on a bit of a binge recently
No plans, would be bloody awesome tho to do that race
they arrive on December 3 👾
James favorite phrase to say “to be honest”.
To be honest, you might be right
No name corner is not no name because it actually has a name, Speaker's Corner, which is 'officially' renamed Jacky Ickx in 2018.
Stavelot 2 is just Stavelot as the corner before is Campus.
Nice one james

Thx, great preview !
How do you setup your ffb? On the hud, you are using half of the force available. Is it normal?
Thx?
100% in Simucube, 25% in-game I believe.
This game is actually so good. After an unreasonable short term ban from iracing, I’ve been looking at other sims, and I am now obsessed with this. Thanks iracing! Appreciate you being absolute tossers and allowing me to dump your game :)
If I’m honest, I’m over iracing. Their feel sucks, the immersion sucks, the sound sucks. The game needs to die.
LMU has been so fun!
Amazing video i’m happy to something about this new cars
Excited for these
Looking forward to theese 😀
Maybe the car contact to the road will get better in iracing when the new tire physics update arrives
Get decent VR headset, whole thing become much much more immersive, specially LMU does brilliant job at it.
I've got Meta Quest 3's now brooo
Not sure if James gave the GT3 mods from RSS in Assetto Corsa a go, but to me they are way better than any other GT3 I tried. Compared to iRacing, Automobilista and ACC, they sound spot on and drive remarkably well.
Have tried some, maybe not the latest ones. I'll have a look
8:00
Am I right when I say that you can reach more than 100 bar bcuz you can always squeeze harder, so when you press harder on the pedal the brakes will just squeeze on the disc harder?
Pretty much, yeah!
How much does sound help in understanding the car? Like in some sims you have loud brake sound, don't know if its realistic but is really helps with the feeling of braking in a sim.
Try the raceroom version pls, the evo came with DTM 2024 pack and atm all cars are free from 21st november to 6th december
Why dont they just collab with you, rig the mclaren up with tons if mics and have u go a few laps to get a really good cockpit sound, it should really be possible to pull of?
Definitely possible
Your IRL in-car sound is very gutteral. Genuine question, is that something a user could set up in-game? Like, up the bass & mids and drop the treble? Or does it need to come from the game? Plus, when you're sat in the actual car and rev it up, you're feeling the vibrations all the way from your toes to your nose (that was so twee) Does that affect how you hear the sound of the engine? Thanks.
Honestly I'm no audio expert so I'm not sure. All I'd say is the onboard camera footage of me driving the McLaren is very accurate audio wise, it does genuinely sound like that.
Thank you for this Video. :)
Welcome!
I was loving playing this game but unfortunately I own a thrustmaster t150, and there is a bug with theustmaster wheels that just turns FFB off after every session. Only way I can turn it back on is to restart my pc, yes I've tried ffb reset button and no restarting the game doesn't work, also it turns ffb for all games so that's why I have to restart pc. Hope they fix this bug so I can enjoy the game.
Ah damn, that sucks. Fingers crossed a fix comes out for that soon.
i hope u can share some tips how sim racer can become a professional racer.Become a professional driver is my dream☺
so real cars feel like the Merc in every game over curbs?
iRacing actually changed the internal audio like a week after you mentioned it. Have you heard it?
Yep, didn't change too much IMO
so your telling me when u hit the brake as hard you can surpass the hard to harder???
Will explain in the video I make on this topic
@ tysm
What you got early access to the GT3's😢
Hell yeee
Us console gamers can use some love on the sims
For me, Rf2 > LMU > iRacing > AMS2 > AC > ACC. This may be suject to your wheel base settings. I remove all filters and only use direct FFB from sim, to get the authentic feeling.
The weight of the car is best communicated in rf2/lmu, followed by iRacing. That sliding around for no reason is something I hate with ACC and that input lag, almost like you’re dragging the car through the corner.
Not sure I agree, but each to their own!
Question: how many NM of torque do you set your FFB to, to replicate the weight you feel through your McLaren's steering IRL?
Only 8nm usually, to replicate the real thing I'd probably go more than that tho
@Jaaames Thanks. Is that because you don't have the adrenaline flowing to the degree you would at the track? Some say about 15nm is needed but that sounds way too high
Also, it didn't throw a rod on the cold rev! Game not Sim XD
😂
James I use a hydraulic brake. I have it set up with very little travel so change is based on pedal pressure not travel and make it so it is almost impossible for me to hit 100%. Is that how you would set your brake up?
Not exactly, the video I'll make will explain all.
@ thanks mate
When is lemans ultimate coming to console?
Not sure
can you make a video comparing lmu, acc and iRacing to irl, and which is most realistic?
Maybe
I can never understand why sound replication is so bad on most sims.
I feel like regarding sounds, obviously in real life the sound would be muffled a bit under your helmet, but few racing games simulate that
I just don’t get it. What’s up with the consistency of sims just making cars too whiney?
Also on heaviness, I’m just confused on what the difference is between a car feeling heavy and the force feedback feeling heavy. Is it about being able to have a high ffb while still having a wide range between that and min ffb?
To answer your FFB question, yes I could turn the FFB up, but the car would still feel too light at times. It's very hard to explain, it's like the detail of the FFB lacks that 'heavy' feel, no matter how much you turn it up.
@ honestly I think I finally pictured it. Like a light car is going to have less variation in the strength you feel at different suspension loads maybe? And a heavy car will have that wider range of ffb til you get between suspension locks?
Regarding the car weight feeling: I think Raceroom currently does that best. And since they now have a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo (in the DTM 2024 class), I would be really interested in your thoughts on that implementation. I hope you can do a video on that.
Will give it a look, cheers!
Do you think the sound is better on rF2?
Slightly better on LMU I think.
I have the worlds best PC, 4090, 9800x3d, 64 gig and graphics are dogshit on LMU, all settings maxed out, what am I doing wrong?
Hmmm, what FPS are you getting?
I feel like these sim companies are all like LISTEN TO THE TRANSMISSION ITS AMAZING.
I still say RSS and VRC mods for AC are the only cars that sound 99% perfect. At least on the outside in the replays they do.
Yea. They all do a pretty decent job of simulating the gear box whine but besides that they differ quite a bit.
The revs sound flat.
Not concerned at all about the audio. S397 seems to want to make the sounds in the game as close to reality as possible, theyve done that so far with every car
To be honest I feel like his complaint about the sound apply to all the LMU cars generally. I'm not saying they are bad, they are quite accurate. But the sounds being "weak" is something I agree with, especially with up and downshifts. They lack impact and energy. Which is something that I think ACC does extremely well for example.
James please do new dtm 24s in race room next. Id love to get your take on those.
How did you use qualy engine map? it has disappeared for me :/
Its frustrating they got everything right except the straight line speed 😔
They got that right actually

i think gran turismo is the only game that gets it right
Don't agree with that my friend
