Thanks Oreste! I couldn’t agree more. Love the crazy versatility in the cards and potential decks, and X-23’s readying fits like a glove in protection. I’m worried that defending against villain attacks might be detrimental against the toughest scenarios but nevertheless it’s really strong with X-23.
I find it fascinating that both X-23 and Wolverine are commonly put into Protection by Expert players. I personally love Fluid Motion Wolverine, but it goes to show how valuable the setup is at the Expert level.
I can’t speak for other players, but I love setup haha. I think that for most scenarios, aggression is probably the dominant aspect for Wolverine/X-23. But for the more difficult villains like Magneto, I feel the necessity for more survivability. That being said, I’m not sure if I would say that protection is the best aspect for X-23. I originally thought it was hence the deck, but I’m starting to think her basic defense may not be worth it even with the readying…
@@webwarriorfanatic I think I prefer an event heavy deck personally. I love Spider-Gwen Protection and Gamora Aggression, because both have great synergy with events. I highly recommend Protection Gwen if you enjoy a ready heavy back and forth style game.
@@ghostwithknife416 Protection Gwen is probably her strongest, but I have a lot of fun playing her in aggression. It’s novel doing big damage during the villain phase, but I prefer to have all my cards and economy readied for a big player phase so she’s not my favorite 😅
One of my top5 heroes against one of my top5 villains! I usually use X-23 in protection, but instead of the Repurpose engine, I used Leading Blow and Counter Punch. Also 2x Protective Training for Honey Badger. Repurpose engine seems just as strong, if not stronger.
That’s a really good gameplan! I tried Repurpose + Game time/Protective Training in multiplayer and kept drawing them as dead cards early game. I usually aim to build first and ignore doing damage until I’m ready to kill so I focused on just having the 3 Repurposes to try to have less damage cards for the early game. I think Leading Blow/Counter Punch have incredible synergy with X-23 though!

Sorry for the ignorance. But, don't the claws keep your attack +2 during Villain phase? It's for "the round". The round consists of both player and villain turn. So, with Combat specialist up, attack is 4 on villain phase if claws were activated, yes? Just trying to follow. Sorry if I'm slow on the uptake in regards to that part of the gameplay, as it seems like you did account for it...
Hey no problem, feel free to ask anything! You are totally correct that claws give +2 until the end of the round, which includes the villain phase. So yes, with Combat Specialist, attack is at 4 in villain phase.
One of the best things in MC is the freedom of deck building. Like Wolverine, X-23 is a perfect match even with protection! Thanks for the video!

Amazing, easily one of my favorite heros in the game so far, love her in every aspect!
She’s definitely fun! The readying and no thwart/attack events is crazy!
great video! really sold me on X-23, she's so much more than just another wolverine clone.
She’s a lot more fun in my opinion! She actually reminds me of Ghost-Spider with all the readies. Glad you liked this playthrough :)
Love a good X-23 game. Black Widow out early was clutch!
Yes!! She gave me a crutch to be risky with the main schemes 👌🏻👌🏻
Bravo
Thank you 🙏
Wow, that final Repourpose slam was TERRIFIC! ❤️🔥🤯🤯🤯
Thanks! When I drew into that 2nd Repurpose I was like “wait a minute…!!!”

I love X-23 in protection. Can get some crazy damage when you have claw master, honey badger, what doesn't kill me, and leading blow
Oh yea Leading Blow would be so good with her buffed up attack stat!
I’ve been using an X-23 leadership deck that has been super fun
Would you mind sharing the decklist? I think her full potential might be in a different aspect than protection
@@webwarriorfanatic I replied with the deck link but I don’t see it anymore. If you didn’t see the comment I can message you the deck list
