Yep, that’s part of why it cost 3. Part of the confusion might be that Arena puts the same red halo effect on your creatures and your opponents creatures when you cast Eerie interference.
It seems Seth also wasn’t prepared for the fog ;P, as it seems he missed the subtle bonus of the card… your creatures still deal damage. Against the hydra deck and also the convoke deck Seth seemed to miss the fact that Erie interference would have let his creatures eat the OP’s on blocks. This would have made a big difference versus convoke and would have made the hydra game less stressful. But I get it Seth was just so excited to Fog again he didn’t read past that point which I totally get, MAN LOVES HIS FOGS.
Fog was green ways of beating agro, but because control made turbo fog, there are no more than 2, and they normally have terrible conditions or crazy high cost to prevent turbo fog from reaking havoc again
33:55 see, I would joke about the aggro players not reading the cards in Seth's deck, but Seth doesn't even read the cards in his deck, so I can't exactly cast too much shade, unless there's a reason why Seth didn't want to kill opponent's 3/2 and 1/1 for free. (You can make the argument for the 3/2 - but I think it's just that Seth doesn't know what Eerie Interference does) And it almost lost him the game vs Convoke.
It's refreshing and frankly startling to see a mana base that's ENTIRELY basic. No utility lands, gain lands, demolition, fetch-to-thin, man lands.... just 24 plains. I don't think I've seen a mana base like that in a long, LONG time
In Seth's defense, even Arena doesn't know the full effect of Eerie Interference because the creatures you control also get the red border on their attack value despite your creatures almost never being able to damage their controller.
I play on my phone at work sometimes. Certain actions, like sacrificing an artifact when you have several on the board, can be very tricky to do with touch controls. Also theres the rare times the phone dies or starts dying and its a race to the charger to get back in the match.
Plus random disconnects, lag (at least on my phone) when fetching and very clunky discarding/ card selection when you get past a certain number of accessible cards
Eh I don’t mind it, those matches are at least fast paced, and I’m stuck in Bo1 a lot cause I like kinda janky combo-ish decks or generally counterable things, like I’ve been really enjoying the Graceyard Beans deck Seth played a bit ago, and so if the opponent throws in a bunch of graveyard hate it’s sad.
Loved that match against Golgari. Surprisingly effective! Also funny to have you draw 3 of your Temp Lockdowns & Eerie Interferences to beat out your opponent drawing 3 Goldvein Hydras
I love this type of format Seth does were he will theorize and make decks based of the current meta, super informative and fun. Always a good time to see red decks get KO’d to, love it Seth
Seth, I was literally playing Arena on my phone while you asked that question. It's not the best experience but it is the one that it fastest to play on. Sometimes I do timeout but normally just searching the library because it's so hard.
I tried to do this with "Fog of War", a common from Brothers' War. The trouble with that one is that the opponent can pump their creatures out of range.
@@pbbppbbp works the same in bo3. Aggro is good for the game. Keep control greed in check. Otherwise all the little bois would just play the slowest biggest spells to feel safe.

I love Fogs. They make me feel all warm and safe. (I also think it's funny to compare the third standard-legal fog, The Stasis Coffin, to The One Ring.)
I run a lot of really weird white controly kind of decks, so I was aware of Eerie interference, turns out fog is really good when you're running a lot of tapped creature removal
Been looking to get into standard but you’re right, everything is stupid aggro which gets old fast so thanks for this deck! this one might do it for me…trying it out immediately haha
I mostly prefer Bo3 for Against the Odds decks since it's _so satisfying_ to see a janky pile tough it out against an opponent that's dug in. The current Bo1 meta made this _amazingly_ satisfying, though, so I'm happy for the exception!
Not only did I know there was a fog in standard, I already run it in a very similar mono white Caretaker's Talent control deck. And it's almost Turbo Fog with Union of the Third Path (once Caretaker gets going) as the other 4 fog copies.
In some matchups you forgot that you can safely block with your creatures when casting Eerie Interference, because they won't be dealt damage, but they still deal damage to your opponents creatures.
Hey, Seth. I love your videos. Not everyone forgot about the fog. I made a video a few weeks ago that is turbo fog with Invasion of Arcavios and Doppelgang, plus the Interference. It was very competitive. Also, you can block their stuff and kill it. It's an asymmetrical fog. You still deal damage.

I've had a fog decks using cornucopias, eerie interference, stasis coffin, jace, sunfall, etc. Honestly what hurt the most was losing Dryad's Revival (and deluge) That card let me turn 1 fog into 3 fogs, or recur jace as a win con, or get deluge back to cast it for 4 again, etc. Plenty of games I would win before rotation I can't win anymore, feels like a shame.
I love how seth thinks fog and treasure map are the answers to aggro 🤣 The rest of the deck looks pretty good, but he's missing one of the best creatures vs red: steel seraph. The ability for lifelink or vigilance is huge. Works amazingly with vindicator.
