    I'd love to see a corsair range expansion. I can understand why they ditched the wasp walker as just an upgrade kit.
    Id love to see a Corsair Shroud Runner type unit, where you take a blaster or shredder instead of a ranger rifle. It would look great and could play well.

    Honestly if youre gonna play corsairs, bringing Yvraine and the Visarch is fair game. Convert and reflavor them as corsair heroes and you actually have some decent character support for your corsair units.

    I had already been building a Corsair/Harlequin themed army in 9th and will continue on that path. My War Walker pilots have Corsair bits, a squad of Corsair Rangers, and a squad of Corsair Fire Dragons. I don't think the Fire Dragons in a Falcon will be as good as it was in 9th for taking out a unit of termies, but I'll give it a shot since I already built the models.

    If you aren’t attaching a yvraine for the 5+ feel no pain to the full unit of voidscarred your making a serious mistake. They need all the survivability they can get and she’s hits fairly well in combat herself so the added lethality is nice.
    Also she was part of the corsairs in her books so there’s no breaking the lore with including her.

    Enjoyed that. Corsair infantry need to be split into 4 types not 2. You need 2 types of Voidreavers ie a dedicated missile (marksman) and dedicated melee (freebooters), and the same for Voidscarred (sharpshooters and marauders). Windriders, Vypers, Warwalkers and outcasts also fit well in a Corsair list. I would give them Drukhari transports, not CW types, just for fluffyness. Their special rules work for missile versions of each, but I'd change the melee special rule for the Voidscarred melee option. The also need their own Psykers, beyond the Way Seeker. Detachment rule is replaced by advance and either charge or shoot.

    This list is good and sold B-A tier(definitely a solid A if you add more Craft World and harlequin support) , kind of hard to compare to the mech list when that is SS tier and unfortunately that overshadows other awesome list. Personally I avoid using S tier list because I find it boring and to easy. • @hell_puppy6364
    @hell_puppy6364 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Question, you say Corsairs have no access to SoF (Strands of Fate) and am not blind, I see that they don't have the Strands of Fate ability listed on the Data-sheet, but I was still under the belief that they wood get if being led by Yriel & Yvraine. To be clear I think this is not Rules as intended but I think I word Rules as Written and if not maybe somebody can explain me what I am missing?
    So here is why I think this. Corsairs don't have SoF ok, but Yriel & Yvraine do and can led them, on page 39 of the core rules 3rd paragraph under the leader section is reads "While a Bodyguard unit contains a Leader, it is known as an Attached unit and, with the exception of rules that are triggered when units are destroyed (pg 12), it is treated as a single unit for all rules purposes" I like to out line the singel units all rules part.
    Reading this my understanding is that I treat the Corsair & leader as one unit, this one unit now have SoF, and the text for Strands of Fate reads "Before making a dice roll for a model or unit from your army with the Strands of Fate ability" It dose not say that all odels in the unite must have this ability and that is an important difference Deep-strike and Stealth make this destination for example. Making the (Leader+Corsairs) unit qualified for the "unit" wording of SoF. or is there something I am missing? sorry for the long comment.

      I read this rule like you do. I think it looks like a legit thing.

    • @hell_puppy6364
      @hell_puppy6364 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DmitriyIDK I am glad other can see the logic at least. Personally, I don't think the designer wanted Corsairs to have SoF for simplicity when taken within Drukari. But that still leaves something wrong, ether page 39 is lying and you don't treat it as a single unit for all rules, or in the designer mind SoF should have read "if all models within the unit"

    • @TheNarwhal85
      @TheNarwhal85 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I have hardly ever played yriel. (Because I hardly ever play named models. Which is why I hardly ever played eldrad or jain zar either).
    But his eye in the fourth also affected allied models. Meaning he mainly grilled his own squad. Which I find problematic. Especially since a storm cannon finished him off with one hit.
    This had to be a separate post because I don't agree at all with this opinion of yriel. (A model that has always been treated very badly by its rules).

      @jannispantelatos3650 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ProxyHammer1 I played mostly Harlequin from Falcons in the fourth edition (at least in tournaments).
      I think for tournaments there has never been a way around the double Farseer.
      I'm going to do an all-round tour of a few videos here.
      Vibro Cannon:
      I thought it was good in the fourth one. You could snipe models effectively with this character. (Imperial Guard or Eldar models were also destroyed immediately), so I liked to take them with me to take out a commando squad or a prophet on a bike who was riding around alone. But they have always been rubbish for tournaments. I just wanted to say that in the fourth, they sometimes had a real benefit if you wanted them to, because they drew a line and carried everything there, so you could target character models, even if that was actually forbidden.
      Then I like the idea of a corsair list.
      I think I would build it with yvrain. (If I would use named characters. Which I'm afraid I'm slowly but surely not going to get around)
      Yriel: it's nice that he has become more useful. Also that he borrowed eldrad's ability from the fourth is fitting. But i like the eye as a pistol much better than a i run in and grill everything with str 6 ds: 3
      Which made yriel like to kill his own squad and leave termis or real dangers untouched where his spear (which he also stole from rune prophets from the third edition) would be really useful.
      Because of the ds: 3, he even shot down wraitheguard quite successfully back then. And as a suicide bomber it could take a squad of marines with it. But it was really only good against nekrons.
      About the phoenix kings from now on.
      I think they look more like exarchs. Phoenix kings have always been rather naja. But they don't reflect what they should be.
      As a game master and writer, I know why they come off so badly in gw s narrative (they can be revived which makes them ideal targeting to kill them. But that dilutes what they are supposed to represent).
      So in general I liked the ninth and don't really like the 10th.
      My conclusion: i never liked pure bombardment lists. I really like playing hyper aggressive. In the fourth (I played it quite successfully on tournaments, so after turn 4 the game was over). Thanks to the immature rules, you can now play a list like dwarves would play it. Personally, I don't like that.
      Last point illum zar. (Fireprism) yes they are too cheap. Stupidly, gw has manoeuvred itself into a corner with its rules with them, as the special rule only comes into play if you play more than one. I like the rule from a fluff point of view, but from a designer's point of view it's problematic because you need a lot of points on the table to use it.
      Did I forget something?
      Ah guardians I never liked. Neither fluff-wise nor on the field. I think warlocks should have gotten this ability to generate fate fixes. At least that would make a little sense.
      Don't even get me started on harlequins here.
      Strong is not beautiful or loving and thats my conclusion to the codex.
      I hope gw will adapt their new codex to the one from the ninth when the Eldar get it. (I liked that one the most so far).

      @@jannispantelatos3650 Agreed, there are definitely some issues with the index that dont feel great fluff wise and feel incomplete. I feel you about old Yriel, it was never competitive just really fun haha 😂
