I can't believe this has only 62k views. As a mandolin player and fan of both of these men, any stringed instrument player should.see this as one of the greatest performances by a duo of all time. Love it.
If you only knew. In the summer of 2002 I saw them do a LONG amazing intro to this song before going into it with the rest of the Flecktones. It was magic. Fortunately I found an audience recording of it. Ravinia Festival Highland Park IL.
Had to revisit one of my favorite tunes of all time... And, my favorite tune of Bela Fleck's ! Even without the bass, (from the album version), this feels so special and Ultimate Ultimate Ultimate!
I was there! Amazing and beautiful! My best memory of that Greyfox. If only the people around me, would have been quiet and listened, instead of babbling on about stuff they could discuss at any other time , they might have enriched their life's and not disrupted those of us who are immersed in the music.
Sometimes a performance doesnt translate into video well. In this case, for a very technical, intense, intricate tune, the video is probably easier to enjoy than it was live! Glad to be able to bring this to everyone to enjoy!
Two of my fvs together loverly. Bela is so composed and Chris is almost. He is usually so animated. I could listen to them for 2 days straight until I had to g o fall in love in the porta Potty Line;
Can there be a better due on the planet? I mean what two musicians could you put together that speak the same language better than these two? This is like high bluegrass, High English, or German.
dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend lately =)
Yeah Thile has won Grammy awards the MacArthur Genius award he's played with just about every great world class bluegrass musician outside of the late Lester Flatt's, Earl Scruggs, and Bill Monroe who by the way all have nothing but the highest respect for him but he's a spaz uh huh yeah right sure.

America is more concern with modern country and top forty
Sickest thing ever!

Playing like this is beyond the comprehension of mere mortals like me 🤯

I agree
Unbelievable that people would do that, yet they do. Clueless.

@@LessThanFaceProductions1 ....A 'hair, standing on end' performance....HOLY S...!....Ya know?!....
These two should definitely do a record together
They will do one in hopefully the near future as Chris has mentioned it several times when we have talked.
Captivating from start to finish, and so in sync with each other. These are two astonishingly gifted musicians.
Notes falling like rain from heaven!
So glad they got together...
Bela Fleck, Chris Thile, Julian Lage, Mark O'Connor and Yo-Yo Ma, I'll bring peace to the middle east of you guys make an album
Don’t forget Edgar...
Gotta love the empty music stand. My favorite on Little Worlds. Would love to see the album lineup
I somethings want to shed a tear when I listen to musical genius like what these who possess. It is hard to put into words. I'll just say perfection!
Camera angle had Microphone blocking view of Thile right hand magic, dang it! But thanks for sharing this incredible performance by these maestros!
Holy sh*t Batman. That was intense. Brilliant.
Wow. Just wow. I have no words. 😳🤷🏼♂️ I don’t even know how they do that. 🤯
Speechless 😍
I enjoyed the time I spent listening to all of this recording. Larry
Lifts my spirit to levels I never knew. Thank you so much! In Ukrainian: Дуже дякую!💖
Words cannot do justice to this. Amazing.

Only aliens like this could be that in sync!
aah thile.....your my hero
Oh, these guys have to record together
Michael Mackrill Chris Thile and Nickel Creek played on the original recording of this tune on the Flecktones album Little Worlds
Grt - Thanks for posting!
Unbelievable!
If this was a movie scene, it would be De Niro and Pacino in the dinner scene in Heat, or Brando and Steiger in the taxi scene in On the Waterfront.
wow!!!
Can there be a better due on the planet? I mean what two musicians could you put together that speak the same language better than these two? This is like high bluegrass, High English, or German.
There is Thile and Meyer too. Lol or Bella and Meyer
Bela's Superman shirt is appropriate here...as it would appear neither of them is human.
dont know if anyone gives a damn but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all of the latest movies on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend lately =)
@Beau Lucas yup, been watching on instaflixxer for months myself :)
Like fine wine...better with age.
gawd damn that's so pretty!
I don't want to live in a world where Chris ever makes a mistake.
I love how there's the music stand with nothing on it! lol
Miss the 11 intro...
I’m speechless, master players in a time of mediocrity. Wow!
Awesome version. But the audio is switched. I'm rearing Bela Fleck more in the right.
there are not enough notes for these guys
Did anyone else watch this in "deer in the headlights" form?
wow Very intense. it has a slight steve reich vibe to it
Prog Blue grass. The best genre no one knows.
PFM! Simple as that.
now they just need to get John Popper in on this and they would have a holly trinity of music
better than yoga for peace of mind
how
If only they could have missed one note just to give a proof that they are human .
Put 2 vituoso's toghter and this is what you get. Amazing Huh
Thile is such a spaz lol
no he's not
mmkay
Yeah Thile has won Grammy awards the MacArthur Genius award he's played with just about every great world class bluegrass musician outside of the late Lester Flatt's, Earl Scruggs, and Bill Monroe who by the way all have nothing but the highest respect for him but he's a spaz uh huh yeah right sure.
He's talking about the spastic body motions, you walnuts.
It's like Mozart and Bach boned something fierce...
Ummmm....Holy shit!!!
I had to make sure I wasn't watching this at 2x speed
In case you’re new to this music - Thile rhymes with really. As in - REALLY?
As the king says to Mozart in Amedeus, “Too many notes.”
😝
It's funny how everyone thinks we live in an age of mediocrity. I think we just live in a time of mass comparison.
I hate the word genre...primarily because something like this couldn't be defined by one.
Just add Brad...
Marry me Christopher
Who actually disliked this lol
I dunno. I think these guys play too slow. I guess its just me.
Banjo drowning out Mandolin
Ultimate
Wow!
