    Chris is one of the few people who can say "we'll figure it out, it's gonna be fine" and then it actually turns out fine (or much better than just fine in this case). This performance is pure magic, all of them are incredible

    • @Miglow
      @Miglow 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Not all that uncommon in trad scenes. Most sets at most sessions are medleys that are put together on the spot.

      @@Miglow Anyone can "put together" something "on the spot." Not many players can "put together" something "on the spot" and play it so amazingly as Chris Thile. You kinda missed the point.

      The "bass player" is Mike Elizondo, who has produced for people such as Dr. Dre. He's a musical beast in his own right. Fiddle tunes are not his home court and he knew to sit out, but he can stand shoulder to shoulder with Thile, Eldridge, and Kittel, which is saying a *lot*. Watch more of the LFH canon, including where Elizondo channels Jaco Pastorius . th-cam.com/video/CBrEjBask34/w-d-xo.html. He won't be "the bass player" any more.
