Great video with dead on points! Keep it up man. This is my opinion...I love ML Knives from Matt Lesniewski in Galway, NY. He makes great outdoor / camp / EDC knives, most all of them with 1095. He made a few knives for the "The Revenant" movie with Leonard DiCaprio. Gorgeous and hard use blades at the same time. He turned me on to Belgian Blue stones, too. Thanks again for another educational video!
I have a saying, "be it ever so humble, there's no dish like what you cooked yourself." My cooking isn't The Best but it always has what I want in a meal. I think making your own knife or having one custom made is the way to get exactly the best knife for you.
The right combination between Skills and Tools is the most important. Skills provide the knowledge and ability to perform tasks, while tools enhance and streamline those tasks, making them easier and often more accurate. Thus, finding the right combination between skills and tools is crucial for achieving efficiency and effectiveness in any task or project.
That shape is a lot like my Condor Trivitatta, also like the Tops Tanimboca Puukko. Both some of the best wood carving blades I've used ...in my opinion. The Tanimboca Puukko had a chunky little v edge I removed, and now it's my edc. I love a good puukko ... I think when many people say "best" it's a temporary statement , that's not good English 😂
I agree with you . I was the Russel hater . I do believe there are superior knife steels . I use a knife for a living . You can get it done with what ya got , superior steels make today’s knives more efficient for resharpening. A good salesman that says this is the best , if he physically shows you and proves it , that hard to argue . Like you said today most folks just open packages. I have knives for different purposes and it comes down to blade steels and handle comfort . I do enjoy your content.
Hey Brother, I have a couple of nice knives I love to carry in the bush. Typically I carry a combo. Leatherman or SAK, folding saw and a solid belt knife. The latter depends sometimes on how far in I have to walk! (Keep the weight down). Trust you have an awesome week man 🇺🇸 🇳🇿
I've seen several knives I didn't care for. Never seen a knife I would rather have none than it. Anything is better than nothing. But Broker is one of the best I can afford. I've got some hen and rooster that are good. I got an old I mean old fixed blade case that is the sharpest I've ever had. And easiest to get sharp. Later Doug
People don't spend to much time with one knife before there buying another, if you watch the Malaysian tribes using a parang in the jungle, they're so sufficient using it because its what they use every day and have done since they were young. If you spend enough time using your chosen knife rather than bouncing from one to another you will find out that you will become very efficient with it. I have come to realise you don't need to spend a fortune to have a functional knife. The right tool for the right job. If I'm out trapping I simply take a cold steel Canadian belt knife, a small tomahawk and a small folding saw. The knife is cheap as chips but works great, sharpens well and easy to clean. I always have a pocket knife with me for working wood. The problem is, many peoples opinions are based on what there TH-cam guru's say and not by figuring it out by themselves.
@@100BearPaw I started off by trying to make it look like a human bone, didn't work out. I'm all finished up the handle and believe it or not, the balls really lock my hand it. What a ridiculous thing to say, hahaha, F@*k. I think I'd have a lock tight purchase on it in a combat situation.
Awesome vid, If I may be so bold I did a vid on the same subject if you would like to check it out. I said alot of the same things. Alot of the time it comes down to a persons skill.
well imo i'm not sure a perfect knife exists. and some say the best knife is the one in your hand. i've had several knives i thought were perfect. but always kept looking. now that i'm on a fixed income, and older, price and of course quality play a big part in my choices. recently i've been using Pathfinder Knife Shop knives. they are affordable, and great quality knives. best of all, they do what i need. i would like to have a $300-$400 knife, just to see if there is really a difference. but for now i'll stick to what i've got.
I have had those on my eye for awhile now. I wouldn't mind adding one to my collection. Appreciate you letting me know how you feel about them Mickey. As always, appreciate you watching.

Look up Todd Cuttler's video on bollock daggers. If something I carved looked like balls, I'd act proud and go with it!
Hahaha, nice 💪🏻
Locks down pretty good onto the Ball sack!! Why? Just Why the balls vs a fawns foot man?
