Hi Becky. I was inspired to use the leftovers from my Scan n Cut applique patterns with my Special Needs granddaughter Emma watching you toss yours into a bin. Emma loves cutting so she cuts these leftover fabrics. Gabriel draws lovely simple outlines and then she places them on to the drawing. Granny not allowed to do this at all. Emma can't iron yet though she is getting there. My job is ironing. She is nine and loves doing this. So do I. I will send photos some time. So there is a no waste project with children. We make mug rug size and will progress to placemat size. Take care. Enjoy your trip.
I’m going to make something similar to the “Quilts” wall hanging, but I won’t pay $7 for shipping a $12 pattern, they don’t offer it as a PDF, and I can’t afford spending $75 at one time for “free” shipping. I’ve talked with Shabby Fabrics and they don’t give permission to digitize their designs - not even for strictly personal use - so I believe this is why they don’t offer a PDF download which would be much easier for all involved. I follow rules so I won’t order their paper patterns. I know they can’t know if I use my SnC, but I’ll just make something similar (but not exact - I respect their copyright) out of my stash and personal design. I constantly support local quilt shops, but no one local carries this pattern. It’s a fun design but I’m not sure Shabby will be happy about Becky using one of their paper patterns to train on Snapplique. 🤷♀️ Personally, I think Amy Bradley has the right approach - if it’s for personal use, they say “digitize away.” I believe Amy Bradley also sells the digital files, so I think they’re smart to make a bit of money on a process hundreds of people are already doing without asking for permission. Sorry - just had to vent a bit!
Great point! I have written to shabby fabrics to ask their permission to Snapplique this project. If they say no, no worries. Like you said, we can do something similar. Like you, I like to follow the rules.
Yes, I loved seeing Valerie last Friday! Hope to see her on future Fridays! Picking out fabric is a huge struggle for me too! I opt for kits or get help. 😅
My friend did a gorgeous collage roadrunner with a pattern by a famous quilter (Arlene Walsh) here owning a quilt shop in AZ-it does come in a kit from Quilt Central Studio if you want to try it-very cute!
I couldn’t get the villa rosa app to bring up anything either. Also, I’m not good at designing things but I can copy very well (left brain also). 😂I had a friend ask me if I was an artist or a crafter, and I said a crafter. I think that describes us quite well. 😁
What kind of machine do you travel with? Have you ever shown your sewing set up in the motor home? Always helpful to see how others organize when traveling. 👍💖👍
Welcome @Carolyoukey3436! You’ll love this community. Try joining a live “Stituation Room” broadcast. It’s at 7am Central Mon-Fri and filled with supportive, brilliant crafters as well as complete novices. All are welcome! It’s early my time (5am!) but worth the sleep loss! 😂

I’m with you Becky, I’m not super creative and need point blank instructions!
Your internet is working so much better. Thank you Becky. ❤
I almost love picking the fabrics more than the sewing

I ordered puzzle saving trays. They have raised lids. Comes in various sizes. Thanks for the idea.
I'll be at the quilt festival starting Monday, the 28th. I hope to see you there. It is exhausting!
Becky, I like your organization tool for the blocks. I think it would be great for my Elizabeth Hartmann million piece blocks!
Love your chicken!
I will be at the quilt festival!
It’s always good to challenge yourself
Your chicken is adorable!
Please finish it if you don’t like it I’ll take it. I love it. You did a fantastic job. Don’t sell yourself short. It is great.
Very cheery. Love that bundle
Oh, I like the easy stacks plastic organizer trays! Can’t wait to hear more how it works for you traveling!

I have a Laura Heine pattern too which is flowers-need to get going on that one!
A fabric pairing discussion when Val is on would be fun.

I’m coming on the bus with Stitchin’ Schertz with my DIL and daughter on Friday, yippee
Oh my God that’s beautiful
I missed Friday it was so hectic but turned out great and today got up late

I needed to clear my filters. Then it worked fine.
Pick a focus fabric and use the colors in the salvage to help pick out your other fabrics
Beautiful. Never sell yourself short. Finish it please.
Wondering if those squares can be cut with Accuquilt dies-would do my hands in, if I have to do the cutting on the Snowman
Did collage once, never again!!
Thanks!
Thank you so much! So sweet of you!
It’s cute 👍
Wish you’d come to my house and organize my sewing room! It’s a mess. Have fun on Your trip. See you in Houston!❤️
Love Laura Heine, have lots of patterns but not done it😢

Becky test out some sandpaper in the bottom. I'm sure keith has some spare
I struggle with picking fabric as well. If at all possible I purchase kits or pick the exact fabric that is in the pattern.
What time is the 12/16 Sew Along?
I have a friend that does this even creates her own designs but doesn't enjoy embroidery or piecing
Does anyone know the name of the quilt in her background???
I’m working on Laura Hiney dog collage.
Your rooster is pretty...
Not up my alley either I'd let my friend finish it
Newbie here

Trying to comment
Trying to add a comment to see if my name shows correctly 🤪
Correction. I ordered puzzle sorting trays. Then I found some in my closet. Smaller size.
I am like you can't put fabric together, but give me a pattern and a bundle of fabric and I am off!
Becky you are being to hard on yourself. Please finish, looking great.
