I recently bought a 2006 Accord Hybrid with every dash light known to man lit-up, and I just started driving it with the hybrid battery disconnected, because I learned that the hybrid charging system works at maximum capacity all the time when trying to charge a dead hybrid battery. So, that's why your mileage improved. Can't wait to see mine.
Can I drive it long distance like 1800 miles straight with hybrid battery on off position? And will it have all functions headlights a/c heater radio etc? Thanks

You could probably replace the A\C compressor with an alternator which will keep you 12V battery charged for years, but you will have sluggish acceleration and no A\C as well as low MPG.
It’s really not a big deal unless you are idling a lot or driving in stop and go a lot. I never had an issue with battery getting low when I tested it for 100+ miles.
How long will the car last without the hybrid battery? I only have 98k miles on my 08 civic and it’s paid off. City traffic isn’t a big issue for me so hoping I can get at least another 6-8 months out of this car. 🤞🏻
His test left a lot out. you are likely having a failure of the DC to DC converter. First thing to check is the wire bolted to positive cable under the hood. If it is loose ( common ) then tighten it. If that does not work, follow it down to the IMA box next to battery. If the 7.5a fuse is blown, you found your issue. if not, test for 13v or higher when running. If voltage is dropping still it is likely the DC to DC inverter. His Inverter seems to be working. I bet he has a loose connection or blown fuse because all his cells are within 1% of each other. @@minigunjak97yt86

I drove mine for about a month last time it went out and the transmission slipped really bad going up a hill. I pulled over, let it cool down and it seemed to work ok after that. My appt to get the battery replaced was a few days later.

Thank u will try this tomorrow need to get rid of this civic hybrid or fix it but will disable the hybrid battery tomorrow for sure thanks so mush

You should last years with a bad hybrid vehicle. But it just really depends how you drive.

My only works in L mode as D mode doesn't hold enough charge when running to charge the battery properly

Actually after about 50 miles I was getting less performance and not as good gas mileage (about 32 combined). So I wouldn’t recommend it.
If my hybrid battery Is bad, I can still driving It like a normal combustion engine? Or what happens if the battery dies?
