So good to be back in the Studio with painting projects and experimental printing this week. #artstudio #artvideo #printing WEBSITE www.gaynorpattle.com
I am one of those who absolutely loves the white brayered over the brown vase, so that it looks like an antique out of an old French villa. And I know that this is just the start of it. I totally love just going in an playing and following where the muse takes me and seeing where I end up. Because your way of painting so reminds me of myself, I just love watching you. You are so willing to just let go and have fun. What other reason is there to paint! LOL!
I don't believe I've ever commented but I confess to binge watching your videos, which are so enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your talent, skill, and humor and for being genuine. It's very inspiring and I've learned so much. I enjoyed the opening shot and the sight of Spring! Here in the Northeast USA we've just had a Nor'easter snow storm with scads of heavy, wet snow, high wind, and associated destruction of trees and power grid! Needed that ray of hope in the primrose sighting!!Thanks again. - Brenda from Maine
Hello Brenda, Thank you so much for watching and commenting, I really appreciate your very lovely words XX I hope the weather calms down for you in Maine.....I'll not moan about our April showers !!! Have a great week XX
It's 3AM here in the USA & a nice gift to see your video. I'm going to have to buy some wallpaper to print with. On the chair painting I was thinking a pop of Pink would be nice. I have several gel plates that I could drag out. My favorites were the plant printings. Love the No Plan Plan. Have a good week!!!!
Hello Anita....you will laugh out loud when you next see the chair - I definitely applied the PINK !!!! Yes more plant prints I think. Have a wonderful week XXX
Hello Gaynor, love the foxgloves! The mono and gelli plate printing is always interesting to watch as you just go for it😂👍🏻Keep going with the chair! Thank you for another lovely video. Have a nice week.💐
Lovely experimental playful video. So interesting to watch the process and riding the wave of like, don’t like, questioning and finding something even if it isn’t what we thought it would be. I’ve recently started playing in sketchbook outside and it feels like I’m giving myself a special treat. I have no “completed” pages but I’ve certainly learned a lot. Giving myself the gift of play is due to your inspirational videos. Hoping viewer chat inspires you to keep on sharing and inspiring us! Wishing you a great week of play and discovery. 💐
Hello Felica, When it stops raining here, I'll be joining you outside !!! And you've hit it on the head, time spent playing is a treat, it's powerful stuff, play !!!! Have a wonderful week XX
Wow, seeing you pull out the gel plate makes my heart sing!! Love watching you paint Gaynor, you are an amazing artist. I love botanical gel prints, try rolling a dark color, placing leaves, press with thin paper, then press again with tissue paper, remove leaves, let dry 5 min, then roll a layer of white or other light opaque color, then put your art paper onto it right away, rub and leave 5 -10 min to dry before pulling the final print. You may have fun with stencils too. Love your experimenting, that's how I learned. Have a great weekend!
I was hoping from some tips Kathy.....thank you...the gel plate is the one area where I let the fear creep in !!! I think I need to dedicate much more time and practice. Have a lovely week XX
@@gaynorpattle Of course. Experimenting is good. Don't forget to condition your gel plate with baby oil every so often, they love it. Spa day for your gel plate. :0)
thank you, love the jelli plant work on the pots, going to give that a try without a jelli plate, see what happens. I so look forward to every Thursday to see what amazing idea you are going to come up with. Keep it up you're so inspiring.
I spend time telling myself to step away !!!! But no....on I go....on the hunt for that 'thing" !!! Thank you for watching Milly and have a great week in Australia XX
Oh gel press fun! Love using bits of foliage from the garden, I might have to try that. Really interesting to see the changes with the green chair painting. I hope you don't mind my saying, the rug lining up with the bottom of the chair is really bugging me. Not sure why. Anyways, I do enjoy your weekly videos, always interesting. Thank you!
Thank you for this awesome video! Watching you paint and contemplate your next step is so inspiring. You share excellent creative ideas that make me think about my own art practice. I love working on paper and “playing” with paint. Thursdays are truly my favorite day!!
Wow, the plant prints really came out well. I was so surprised by the detail you picked up, and that really has my mind spinning to what I have out there in my plant world. It's 86 degrees F today where I live.
Hi Gillian, pink, red and orangey red are on the canvas !! SPOOKY XX Let me know what you think next week - it's looking very different ! Have a great week XX
Lovely.!! I think some of those pots could do with some gelli plate collage papers glueing on….I use Logan deli papers which go transparent when glued with modge podge or a medium……loads of unplanned planned fun!!!!
I love this video. The pots are all coming along so well….when I brayer over leaves I have a hard time with them not tearing apart….this video was helpful for me to see what I’m doing wrong…your videos are so helpful
Thanks. I found this weeks video very useful, very helpful. Watching so much of your process was very interesting. I get very tight heavy. So I am in a pause right now. A precious pause. All will be good as soon as I am back in the flow.
Hello Gaynor,I see Rocket has found his sunny spot again bless him lol!Love the new chair look, the additional green shade is fab,the foxglove painting has a lovely moody depth to it and agree the colour would really go with chair painting or maybe aubergine…I love seeing you play on the gel plate,I could spend hours on mine!Very captivating I think and there’s always a use for the ghost prints! The pot with the leaf print is really nice.Have you ever used play dough on the gel plate, you could get some fab prints for your pots from plants and everyday objects..have a look at Tina’s Art ,she has a channel on TH-cam…Oh and maybe get yourself a Baron to save your poor hands!😁Have a great week!!❤
Hi Gaynor, I kept on yelling too much green!!!! .....when you were doing the chair painting. I could see a painting next to you with some grape colours and thought that they would really add some difference to it. Have you tried changing colours and new brushes through the same painting???? If you say, bought in some lilac colours and lemon yellows are made a transparent swoop on card, it could take your painting somewhere new. I adore your channel and soooo look forward to every single one and hate when they end. You bring spontaneity into life again and are so regenerating. Love the gel plates with the herbs and grasses on the pots.....all unknowns for everyone. Jo from the other side of the world.....New Zealand with a Welsh mother, who is disabled with rheumatoid but was inspired to do art after watching you.😊❤🎉
Yes! I was waiting for the cheese plant to go red or Aubergine, or maybe the cushion to be a complementary tone in Red of some kind…if the plant has to be Green.… Once that plant or Cushion is Red then maybe the carpet would have to be an a darker Green for balance… keeping where ever the Red is as a focal point. I also like the idea of the carpet being almost a rich Oriental pattern in darks reds and greens….. also that Gel plate can give beautiful patterns, if the string is placed on it and removed like was done with the plants… so much fun can be used for patterning with a Gel plate. We will have to wait and see what happens next….
Hello Jo, there are changes taking place on the chair !! It is so lovely that viewers are ahead of me !!! Sending love to your mother and thank you for such kind words XX
I always enjoy when you use the wallpaper. Such a cool effect. And I love the rug!!!! Maybe bring some rug color to the cushion. I like green but it's getting a bit much. Lol Can't wait to see what you do next.

HI Gaynor! I so want that chair to go aubergine colour!😂 Love love love the vessels! Such an exciting project that can continue to inform and feed into the bigger scale works. Would love to see some of the vessels as large paintings/collages too! Gosh, now my brain is tripping!!🤩
Hello Beverley, The chair has changed !!! I am so grateful for your suggestions because now I'm thinking big vessel painting too !! Have a wonderful week XX
Great fun as always! I am so envious of your wallpaper samples - wish I could find some around here! Do you ever use ‘mixing white’? It is slightly transparent. I can see you using it on the plant in the chair painting, and then glazing with green-gold to bring those leaves alive!💚💚💚
