    Now this is awesome! Not only is there finally a R&C Randomizer, but that music in the background too. Absolutely epic.

    I love the infobots being randomized. It looks like they're randomized seperately from other items, which is probably for the best.

    Would love to see the weapons and Gold Bolts added to the pool as well, but improved logic would need implemented for that. Possibly even the Gold Weapons and Skill Point triggers if possible. But, one step at a time. Still, the fact this is even a thing is enough

      Working on adding weapons to the pool, biggest challenge is just getting items to show correctly in the vendor

      Yeah. So far it’s looking like Infobots can only be switched with each other, but I can see weapons, gadgets, items and gold bolts being able to be interchanged. Regardless, I did find basically a number of checks per planet, including the things I’ve mentioned (though 1 is tied behind a boss):
      Veldin 1: Start with 1 weapon (possibly random), 1 Infobot
      Novalis: 2 Infobots, 1 Weapon, 3 Gold Bolts, 1 Skill Point (5 Gold Weapons? Normally NG+ only, so a quality of life change may need implemented if they can be added on the pool, and the 5 introduced here can be open at any time)
      Kerwan: 1 Infobot, 1 Weapon, 2 Gadgets, 3 Gold Bolts, 3 Skill Points
      Aridia: 2 Gadgets, 1 Item, 4 Gold Bolts, 2 Skill Points
      Eudora: 1 Infobot, 2 Weapons, 1 Gold Bolt, 1 Skill Point
      Nebula G34: 1 Infobot, 1 Weapon, 2 Gadgets, 2 Gold Bolts, 1 Skill Point
      Rilgar: 1 Infobot, 2 Weapons, 1 Item, 2 Gold Bolts, 3 Skill Points
      Umbris: 1 Infobot, 2 Gold Bolts
      Batalia: 2 Infobots, 1 Weapon, 1 Gadget, 2 Gold Bolts, 3 Skill Points
      Gaspar: 1 Weapon, 1 Gadget, 2 Gold Bolts, 2 Skill Points
      Orxon: 2 Infobots, 1 Weapon, 1 Gadget, 2 Items, 2 Gold Bolts, 2 Skill Points
      Pokitaru: 1 Weapon, 2 Gadgets, 1 Item, 1 Gold Bolt, 2 Skill Points
      Hoven: 1 Infobot, 1 Weapon, 1 Gadget, 1 Item, 2 Gold Bolts, 2 Skill Points
      Oltanis Orbit: 1 Infobot, 1 Gold Bolt, 1 Skill Point, 5 Gold Weapons
      Oltanis: 1 Infobot, 2 Weapons, 1 Gadget, 4 Gold Bolts, 2 Skill Points
      Quartu: 2 Infobots, 1 Item, 2 Gold Bolts
      Kalebo III: 1 Gadget, 1 Item, 2 Gold Bolts, 2 Skill Points

      Overall: 19 Infobots, 15 Weapons, 14 Gadgets, 9 Items, 40 Gold Bolts, 30 Skill Points, 10 Gold Weapons

    I sat there for the whole video wondering what was randomized. I just realized it's the items and the info bots! Would be cool if the music was randomized too.

    This looks super cool! I do have a question though, is the RYNO salesman included in the randomizer or is he excluded? A bit curious about that.

      Weapons aren't randomized at this point, so no RYNO salesman. Bolts are modded to have higher values as well, to mitigate a lot of bolt grinding

      I see I see, weapons would be pretty cool in the future. Working on getting a hold of a PAL pkg to be able to play the mod, no luck so far but I'm excited to try this out!

      It's just something I threw together quickly with some loops I found that sounded like RaC music

    You should try to do Ratchet and clank 2 and 3 after this one! However, don't be too ambitious! Stick with what you got for now and think ahead!

    What regions does this work with?
    Are there plans to add GC and UYA compatibility (on a distant future) or are they too different for that?

      This is for PAL only atm. GC and UYA would not be compatible with basically any of the code I've written for this. I don't know enough about those games to be able to make a randomizer for them at this point. This randomizer will be open sourced on sunday, so maybe it's a good template for someone to make it for GC or UYA. I'd be happy to help with it, I just don't know enough about the progression of those games.

      @@bordplate. I think GC and UYA run on the same engine or something, so once someone gets it working for one of them, the other should be comparatively much easier... maybe

    Sucks that you cant use this on an emulator :(

      Partly because the way this mod is applied is by changing the game code while the game is running. This is possible on modded consoles, but not on emulator, believe it or not.
      That could be worked around, but the modding tool that is used to apply the mod also doesn't work at all with emulator at this point.
      So technically it could be made to work with emulator, but it requires different tooling that I'm not interested in making atm. My computer doesn't run Ratchet 1 at full speed in emulator, so I'm just not interested in working on that.

    My followers want me to try a challenge run at some point, seems only fair I'd consider my fave franchise. What version of the game is needed to install the mod?

      You need a Homebrew Enabled PS3 with a digital PAL copy of the game (e.g. downloaded from PSN with European account). The trilogy disc version might work as long as it's PAL, but I haven't tested it.

      There is definitely room for improvement in the installation process of the Randomizer as well. I don't have time for it right now, but hopefully it'll be easier to set up some time in the future.

      @@Valiantlion23 You need a homebrew enabled console yeah. You can find videos to help you install HEN which is most likely to work with your console. Then install webMAN on the PS3 and racman on your PC.

      To make it for Vita all of the work done for this would have to be redone basically from scratch. So I'm gonna say that's probably not going to happen. Vita and PS3 run on entirely different instruction sets, where Vita runs an ARM processor (like your phone) and PS3 runs PowerPC. Since all of the Randomizer is made for PowerPC, this difference makes it basically impossible to port any of the code as-is. My future projects will at least support emulators, unlike the Randomizer.

    Love the idea of the mod, been watching some content for it and I have a question: As someone who doesn't have a ps3 to mod with, are there possible plans to be able to add this to the RPCS3 emulator? I own all the games, ps3 went through the YLOD though.. Sorry if this question is asked alot!

      The way the Randomizer works is highly incompatible with how RPCS3 works sadly. At the time it was way easier to mod for console only, which has luckily changed recently, but it'd be a lot of work to convert the Randomizer mod to work with RPCS3. Going forward I'm trying to make new mods for console and emulator, but I'm not really motivated to go back and update the randomizer.

      Anything is possible, however enemies in the Ratchet game are coded very specifically for the circumstances they're in. Additionally not all enemies are present in each level, therefore you cannot spawn them without first loading all that enemy data into the game. This enemy loading thing is probably the biggest hurdle, because to load a specific enemy, you need to parse a whole level file, extract only the enemy, and then resolve conflicts that arise with existing enemies for that level.
      This is a common feature request, or idea, for the Randomizer. I'd love to implement it if I ever have the chance, but it's not gonna happen for a long time, if ever.

    good idea but apparently only the planets and the weapons are randomized. I might make the boxes and enemies random too. then the whole thing really has something of a randomizer.

      @@bordplate. Well, in many randomizers, boxes and opponents can also be random, which makes it all the more exciting. at some point there may be a randomizer that can do it and I'm really looking forward to it!

      The randomizer always makes sure you'll be able to get the items you need to progress. So it's randomized, and you'll still get what you need
